Beware, please read this before deciding to use Desert Paradise All Outdoor Contractor. I recently tried to have Desert Paradise All Outdoor Contractor out to give me a bid for a pergola, extend my patio and put in a new garden along the edge. I fell into the same situation as a lot of reviews in the past. I set up an appointment for him to come out, he missed it, no calls just a no-show. The next day he showed up when he felt it was his convenient time. I was to have a bid by Monday, and with constant calling and e-mails, I got it on Friday. I questioned when he would be available to start and put in writing what I was getting. He called and said he would come out the following Thursday. Again, a no-show. I have sent e-mails and left messages. This was all in May, now its August and he has not responded. If it doesn't bother you that your time is not important, not having any details in writing and don't care when he will start or finish, this maybe a contractor you might want to use. I wanted a patio extension at my condo. Silviano was on the contractor referral list in my Community in Palm Desert. I made an appointment with Silviano and he was on time and explained what the process would be. The following day I was sent a quote to my email. I asked for references and checked a few of the jobs he completed in my neighborhood. All looked great and one of the referrals was more than happy to endorse his work. When I agreed to proceed with Desert Paradise, I processed the paperwork with the Hoa and when they approved it all, Silviano's crew went straight to work. Silviano works closely with the Hoa and will make sure the Hoa approves everything. I found him very knowledgable about plants and his profession. I told him a few of my concerns and he educated me on what he does to prevent issues. Overall the job was done well and in a timely manner. A few items needed to be addressed by the Hoa but Silviano took care of it all. He is knowledgable and does good work. My only suggestion is to be specific with what your requests or wants are. He has a few crews working on different sites, so be specific and communicate so he knows exactly what you want done. I am happy to recommend Desert Paradise to anyone looking to improve their landscaping. read more

We could not be happier with the service, fair price, and beautiful end product that we received from Silviano Castro and his crew. They pulled out our grass and replaced it with desert landscaping in our back, side, and front yards in Indian wells. Silviano was patient with changes I made on several occasions. He brought us a wide range of plants to look at and choose from and there was NO pressure to put in more plants in or a problem if we send plants back. Finally, his crew was extremely considerate. And they were at our house literally for weeks, as we did our yard in stages. I felt they always had our best interest in mind. Not just for the short term, but long term. I have to leave this review because it's very unfortunate that this company which probably does do good work based on the few reviews from clients that they did work for, however with me it's a different story. I emailed them and requested an appointment for an estimate. Norma was very responsive via email and it was very smooth getting my appointment. After the gentleman came out and got to see and hear from me what I wanted done he assured me that he would get back to me within a few days with an estimate. 1 week passed by and I never heard from them. 2 weeks passed and I still never heard back. So my fiance started calling them and asking when we could expect an estimate. Norma told her give them a few days and they would provide an estimate and that they had been very busy. My fiance agreed. Many more then a few days passed and she called again. Again Norma stalled the process and made another excuse that it would take time. By this time it had been well over a month and we still had no estimate. Finally my fiance called back again and this time Norma told her that they were way to busy to take on our project sorry have a nice day. So basically my impression is clear. They didn't want to help us or have anything to do with our backyard landscape project from the start. They probably cherry pick their jobs. They wasted our time clearly and had no intention of even estimating our landscape project let alone giving us the opportunity to see an estimate and possibly hire them for the work. If you don't mind risking wasting your time trying to get an estimate then give them a call. They sure wasted our time and mislead us right from the start. The polite thing to do would have been to tell us immediately after looking at the job that they were to busy and would not be able to help. This is extremely poor customer service to me. Not the way to treat a potential customer. To say the least I am extremely disappointed in this company. My rating would have been 1 star but I only got to experience a failed estimate followed by a lengthy brush off. I am not in a position to say how good their work is because I was swept under the rug. read more

My experience with Desert Paradise All Outdoors was excellent. I contacted them for an irrigation project. Silviano came out that day to assess the project, and he provided a quick price quote, which was very competitive. He was very friendly, and the type of person that I'd enjoy doing business with. We sought and received multiple bids, and went with another contractor. However, I will definitely contact Silviano again if we have any more landscaping or irrigation projects. He came with the equipment to determine our slope and grade, provided samples and was readily available for all our questions. Silviano and his crew from Desert Paradise just completed the landscaping for our new home in La Quinta and we love it! Silviano had great design ideas and was also very attentive to our ideas about the types of plants we wanted and the way we intended to use the area. We found the experience fun as well as very efficiently managed. We especially loved it when, after the ground was prepared and the irrigation was in, he brought in a large selection of plants for us to select from. The project was completed quickly and beautifully. Siviano was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions and concerns via email, texting as well as on site visits. We recently had our front and backyard re-landscaped by Desert Paradise. We didn't like the landscaping when we moved in. We wanted to remove all the desert gravel and most of the plants and start over with new pebbles, rocks, boulders and plants. We called the company who landscaped the backyard in a previous home and we loved that job. He was booked at the time and referred us to Silviano. We met with Silviano and told him what we liked and what we didn't want. He came back with a design within a few days, which surprisingly was very close to what we were thinking and had discussed. We got a rendering of the way it would look and it was better than we expected. Our HOA Board didn't approve the first submission, so he made a few tweaks and we got it approved. The entire project took about two weeks. He worked with us to change out some of the plants in the design that we weren't excited about. He has a lot of experience with desert landscape and knew which plants would work best in each location on the property. He laid out the plants in the yards for us to see and switch around until we were happy with the layout. We did approve one plant and then changed our mind before it was planted the next day and he switched it out without any issue. There were no surprises in the pricing except for the things we added after we got the bid. The pricing was fair from the beginning and the final invoice reflected exactly what we ultimately got with no padding. The crew was polite and as quiet as possible. I also appreciated that if the crew was running late on arrival, Silviano called me to explain why. I was never left wondering what is happening. I have done many home improvement projects in my day, and often they are very stressful. This one was pretty painless, came in on time and on budget, after considering the changes we initiated. The results in the front and backyard are beautiful and we are getting lots of compliments from the neighbors. We would use his company again anytime. read more

Had 4 estimates for expanding cement pool deck, landscape with beautiful desert plants, and covering open dirt with various gravel and rock formations. Mr. Castro was by far the most helpful in planning and in interpreting my vision. His staff is incredibly hard working and knowledgable about cement and rocks and plants. He showed up every day to ensure things went well and kept me appraised as issues arose and he always dealt with things immediately. In addition to the OUTSTANDING design and work, Mr. Castro is so very pleasant to deal with. He did not ask for a penny until work was complete and I was satisfied. Mr. Castro is so easy to work with along with his crew. They are neat, courteous and try to answer any questions you might have.
