This is my Grandmas weekly hangout spot with her friends. I decided to stop in and spend some time with everyone during their weekly outing. The place is pretty basic, but I can see why it's their "Go-To" place. Theres no rush to order, there is no rush to leave. You can literally sit there from open to close & nobody is going to bother you about it. The customers are primarily older folks sitting at the bar enjoying drinks & laughing. It was great to see. My girls ordered pizza and chicken tenders, both were very good. The food did take a while to be prepared, but we weren't in a rush, so that was no problem. The server, Ellie, is very sweet and upbeat. She was running the whole place bar & all - which I found very impressive! I look forward to stopping in more often. read more

This place is great! Mostly locals. Great food and good people watching. The corned beef Reuben is very good - a little better than the pastrami sandwich. It's the first time I saw someone come in to a bar just yo buy a bucket of their ranch! It is good ranch btw. One of the servers has worked there 20+ years. A good sign. My only suggestion is to get more and bigger TVs, especially behind the bar (there are currently zero). They have the NFL package which is nice but not nearly enough or big enough TVs to show it on. read more

Soups and salads are supersize! Pizza is very good as is the Friday Fish Fry. I live close so it is a nice friendly place to stop, drinks are also good. Local type of place. read more

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. I had wanted to come here for a while to try their pizza. Our waitress greeted us as soon as we were seated. She took our drink order. Upon browsing the menu I realized they offer so much more than pizza causing me to waiver on my pizza choice. I did decide to order the 10 inch pizza. They allow 3 toppings, but I chose 2 additional toppings for 75 cents each. The pizza was out in about 20 minutes. Time passed quickly as they have about a dozen TVs around the place. There was a basketball game I got interested in. The pizza came out with the warning, "the pan is hot". The pizza was good and hot too. There was a bit more cheese than I prefer, but not too much so the pizza was not greasy. This pizza had the perfect amount of sauce. The flavor was slightly sweet with a hint of garlic. There was a generous amount of toppings, probably because I had ordered 2 extra toppings. The sausage was like sliced Johnsonville sausage. The crust was thin, not bready or brittle crispy. There was a nice golden brown on the bottom side. As a pizza snob, I rate this pizza 4 stars. This is a good quality pizza ranking near the top of my favorite pizzas. I am listing it on my best pizza list. I will be back to experience more of their amazing munu. They have a fish fry that could possibly make my best fish fry list also. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for a while now. We finally did on a Sunday for lunch. The place was busy, but that was to be expected as the Suns game was on. The place has a sports bar feel, with several tv's with different sporting events on, and a pool table, but the main focus was the basketball game. After reviewing the menu I decided on the B.L.T on wheat with french fries. It wasn't long after ordering that our food came out. My sandwich was so good! The bacon was crispy, toast was toasted perfectly, the lettuce and tomato was fresh. The fries were hot, golden and crispy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. After a while it started to get noisy but to be expected with the excitement of the game. Over all the experience was good and we will be back to try more menu items. read more

I've been looking at trying this place for the last year it's tucked away in the strip mall here in East Mesa and have become a fan of the cozy sports bar. We had a craving for pizza so we came in to try Desert Peaks it's better than your typical pizza place's here in Mesa for the reason that everything is made from scratch from their dough down to the sauce it's New York style and is super yummy by no means is it bland. We ordered the meat lovers pizza and the toppings to sauce ratio was spot on there's nothing I find more disappointing is when places dump on the sauce it can take over those wonderful Italian seasonings in the rest of the pizza. They have a nice selection of other food such as sandwiches and appetizers and did I mention that they have a full bar to make all of those fabulous drinks that compliment pizza ? Our server was nice and friendly, there's also an outside patio area to bring your well behaved fur babies and the inside dining area is perfect for large families and company functions. This is a local business that should get our support so that we can continue to enjoy their business for years to come. read more

We placed our order to go over the phone. When we came to pick it up it was ready as promised. I thought the prices were a little on the high side. Although we decided to try two completely different pizzas. They included a side of grated cheese as well as a side of hot peppers . Which I felt was very thoughtful. We tried the pizzas once we got home. I have to say they were very good indeed. I would get them again. However, I'd like some coupons because they are high priced. The place is more of a bar I feel. So wouldn't really want to eat there. But,it was great to take them to go. Definitely good pizza! read more

I was here with a few friends on Monday for lunch. It was a good experience for all of us. I had the Italian Sausage sandwich, one friend had the Pizza and another opted for the BLT Club. We were waited on promptly and the food was good. I will eat here again. read more

Fish sandwich. Filet was either freezer burned or very poor quality. After it was deep fried it was totally hard and unable to be chewed. Told bar tender server. She did not believe me. This place always has good food and good service but I was extremely impressed with their staff on 12/16. We had a "Celebration of Life" here on Friday evening for my friend's mother and your entire staff was so accommodating. This is my favorite neighborhood bar since years now and I live 5700 miles away 10 Month of the year. Whenever I arrive back in phoenix i walk in and feel home. I like the drinks the food and the people there so even if somebody asks for my favorite bar and Restaurant I say its Dessert Grilly and Bar corner McKelips and Recker in Mesa Arizona. Non service and employees who obviously hate their jobs and life. Went in on a Friday, knowing this place is typically busy we were tolerant, to a point. When we first came in I stood by a booth to "claim my spot." The waitress snatched the check from the dirty table and gave me a side eyed look (she knows I'm there.) We sat there at a dirty table for 15 minutes until we gave up and left. (The other server cleaned 1 other table while we were waiting and watching.) During the period we were seated, they were bringing other customers food, they could have said it'll just be a couple more minutes. When we left I went up to the bar and told the bartender, both servers and either the manager/owner that we tried but 15 minutes with no acknowledgement was not acceptable. At this point the waitress started arguing with me that we hadn't been there that long (really? I had been timing it because I texted as I showed up.) Have come in here for years and always great. However, came in tonight and the bartender with blue hair was totally rude. Served others as I sat and waited. One of the customers sent her to my end of the bar. She took my drink order and then threw the drink at me spilling 1/4 of it on the bar. No apology - I always spend a lot on alcohol and food. I've never been treated so poorly by the male bartender Eddie. He is rude and tried yelling at me in front of everyone at the bar because I was unhappy with the drink he made me. He was obviously drunk while working. He drinks more alcohol behind the bar while working then he serves. I didn't know employees could drink while on the clock. Stopped in for lunch for a first visit here on a Sunday. Hubby was thrilled with all the different football games on and the place was fairly busy. But...there was only one employee managing the front by herself. From seating customers, taking orders, serving foods and working as a bartender, this one poor employee was doing a great job! She was calm and professional and we never felt like we were inconvenienced waiting for her as she serviced all the other customers. Excellent pizza. It was obviously made with fresh dough, not frozen. It didn't have a crispy crust, but it was delicious. The service was excellent. It's a bar, but part of it is more like a cafe, the other half is a bar with a pool table. So if you don't want to bring your wife to a bar with a pool table you can sit on the other half where it's more like a cafe. I'd go back. I really liked the food and service. read more

Well where to start....the owner took s perfectly good patio and turned it into a smoking jail. All the chairs are tied down and all in a circle like you're attending an AA meeting. 3 table out there but the chairs cannot be moved so that you can use the table to eat. As for the food. I ordered a pizza. The menu lies. It's far from great unless you prefer burnt outside crust and raw dough in the center. If you do then come on down. If your a business owner looking for a new location please stop by. This owner is quickly running this place into the ground. read more
