Came here for the Too Broke For Country Thunder fest, as my boyfriend's band was one of six country bands playing in this event. For as crazy busy as it was I thought the bar staff did a great job & got our drinks & eats out to us in a timely manner. The weather, however, had different ideas that night, especially during Strait Country & the Donny Grubb Band's sets. I commend the tech crew here for acting fast & taking measures to keep the bands & fans both safe during the horrific weather. I plan to come to more events in the future, as this is a great venue for live music & supporting our local bands & musicians.

    Salad plate

Our food took a hour to get. My burger was so overdone and the $20 salad seemed premade and came in the plastic container a salad would come in. If you're looking to drink and socialize, it's your spot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the patio is very dog friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But definitely skip out on the meal! Lol

I think the last time I was at The Monastery was probably 7 years ago? I live on the opposite side of town, so I haven't had a chance to check the place out since then. Tonight, I made a last minute decision to check out some live music. Bad Co. Experience was performing tonight I was looking forward to giving them a listen. Being that it was a Thursday night, I wasn't expecting a large crowd or anything, which is fine by me. I had no problem finding parking and I was greeted by several staff members when I walked into the courtyard. I found myself a table relatively close to the stage where the band was setting up. I was happy to see ashtrays on the tables so I could smoke one of my cigars during the show. I forgot how huge the outdoor area is. Lots of seating and covered areas. Shortly after seating myself, a gentleman came to my table to ask if I'd like something to drink. He took my order and told me that he wasn't my server, but he'd get me started and then hand me off to the server assigned to the section I was seated in. I thought that was very cool! Shortly after, the assigned server came back to my table with my beer and introduced herself. I placed a food order for their Famous Monk Burger. I really don't have high expectations for bar food. Typically it's nothing fancy and mediocre at best. I must say though, the burger was damn good! It was seasoned well and it was cooked as I ordered it - medium! The fries were... meh. Of course, I'll rarely rave about battered fries from anywhere since they're the bane of my existence. Service throughout the evening was excellent! I wish I could remember her name to give her some recognition here. She had long red hair. She was friendly attentive and efficient! Based on my experience here, I'm a bit shocked by some of the reviews. Maybe being here on a Thursday makes a difference? All I know is, I had a great experience and I won't hesitate to return for future live band events.

Paper every thing and they have the nerve to charge those prices. Food barely palatable.

Wow! Such a great space and such a poor service to area... (Malibu) prices in a (Mesa) Desert retirement community!

Your typical dive bar. This night they had a good bad and karaoke in the back patio. Idk what the…read moresmell is out there but.... Drinks were good and bartenders were friendly so

Roosters Country is hands down the worst excuse for a bar I've ever set foot in. Calling it a "dive…read morebar" is an insult to actual dive bars. This place is a cesspool with booze. The floors are sticky enough to rip the soles off your shoes, the air smells like a mix of old cigarettes, sour mop water, and broken dreams, and the bathrooms are straight out of a horror movie. If you don't catch a staph infection here, consider yourself lucky. The drinks? Absolute garbage. Watered down, overpriced, and served in glasses that look like they haven't seen soap since the Bush administration. The bartenders couldn't care less -- they'd rather ignore you than make a drink worth drinking. The bouncers act like they're auditioning for a WWE villain role, puffing their chests at anyone who blinks the wrong way. And the crowd? Imagine every bad Tinder date you've ever had stuffed into one room with a soundtrack of off-key karaoke and a sound system that makes your ears beg for mercy. If you like fights breaking out over spilled beer and listening to drunk strangers scream into your face, congratulations -- you've found your paradise. Save yourself the misery. There are porta-potties at construction sites in Mesa that are more inviting than this dump. Roosters Country should come with a warning label: Enter at your own risk, and don't expect to leave with your dignity -- or your shoes.
