This location is situated in a plaza with other businesses, but ample parking on a Sunday early evening. Immediately upon entering, we were greeted and advised to find a seat where we'd like. Their layout is typical of a sports bar with the usual decor, but loved having both high and low top seats as some only have high top/bar seating. Our server Nicole was super friendly and offered suggestions as it was my boyfriend's first time to a Mr Brews. I had been to another location in Mesa, so we decided to stop at this one to satisfy our burger craving as I liked their ranch dressing previously. What We Ordered: ~ Beef Sliders: My boyfriend remarked the meat was pretty bland, and lacked seasoning. Still enjoyable, but nothing standout flavor wise. ~ Build Your Own Burger (lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, fried egg +$2, and red pepper aioli +$.99 on the side): The aioli was a miss entirely, and I'm so glad our server suggested getting on the side. Besides that, I really enjoyed my burger and fries. Great they offer a way to create your own, because when dining out, there isn't always one that includes everything you'd want. ~ Moose Drool Brown Ale: My boyfriend really enjoyed, but not a fan personally. I prefer either a Stout/Porter or a Sour. ~ Coke: A classic with a burger! Overall, a fairly solid burger though nothing truly spectacular. A great choice if local, and I will say the chain of restaurants makes amazing cheese curds. We almost got this visit, but had smaller appetites. read more

Just had the most bizarre experience here. It was my first visit and my parents third. There were only 2 servers and one bartender on a Sunday at noon, so service was slow. (Although our server was a friendly gal from Minnesota whom we had no problem with). All six entrees ordered were lukewarm and arrived much later than the table who had arrived much later than us. No matter, as we were having a nice visit. However, when the bill came with 20% gratuity added on, my dad asked to speak to the manager to have it taken off as the service was not worth 20%. The person who came over (whom we later found out was the owner) began aggressively stating that her servers identified him as being a troublemaker and that he's "always asking to be comped or a discount" (not true as this was his third time and hadn't been there in over 6 months). He tried to state there must be a mix up. The person again, aggressively and with loud voice enough to be embarrassing, said she stands behind her staff and it was him. I ended up standing up and next to her and between with my back to her, made a path so my dad could leave. She then said she didn't want us to come back. We (party of 6) left absolutely gobsmacked. Even when he asked the owner to have the staff that said he was a troublemaker to come over and identify him (so she could see that it wasn't him) she again loudly proclaimed she stands behind her staff. Again, totally bizarre. As an owner I can appreciate standing behind your staff, but have enough class and tact to realize they may not be correct and not alienate an elderly couple who have been in the neighborhood almost 30 years. Our family patronizes the grocery, dentist, and other services in the community . This unprofessional, borderline abusive behavior will not be forgotten. Forewarned is fair warned. To reiterate: He was not asking for a discount. He mentioned the food was cold let management know. ; He wanted the automatic 20% tip removed so he could adjust it to what he thought was fair. Been to this location (Ellsworth) several times and never had been treated so poorly by the bartender (larger guy that wears sunglasses on his head). Rude, arrogant, inattentive...very mediocre service and food. We like supporting local businesses but we will not go back to Mr. Brews due to his treatment of us. read more

They just took over the space by Basha's where a Mexican restaurant used to be. The place is huge, bright and clean with lots of televisions. They serve Untappd beer, about 50 rotating selections and some decent wine as well. Their menu is mostly bar food, along with healthy salads, veggie burger options and flatbread. We had great service and the place was hopping. Our little corner of NE Mesa really needed this. read more

Stellar burger and great wait staff. I had this recommended to me by a co-worker and glad I found time to go. Went with a friend who was in town and we stayed until closing time. Caught up and everything was great. Will visit again. The only thing that could be a little better is the space but they make due with what they have. After being rudely turned away by the manager at Point 22 Tavern for having Ollie, my small Yorkie and federally recognized deaf service dog in his stroller, we walked into Mr. Brew Taphouse--and what a difference! The manager here welcomed us with kindness and zero fuss. The atmosphere is relaxed, down-to-earth, and full of the kind of hospitality that's missing in some other nearby places. We immediately felt comfortable and respected, which meant everything after the way we were treated earlier. Great staff, solid beer selection, and most importantly, a team that actually understands what good service--and basic human decency--looks like. We're already looking forward to coming back. NE Mesa settles for mediocre. Mr Brew is new to the area and possibly there's hope it could turn out to be good or very good over time, but it's not there yet. 1 positive, they have a really good selection of beer. (This alone is what saved them from a 2 star review. It's also the only thing I'd go back for since they have Tank7 Farmhouse Ale on tap.) Everything else? Mediocre at best. The food is generic and not worth the spend. The interior layout and design is generic, kinda feeling like an adult version of Chucky Cheese. The service was slow, we had to ask 4 times for water. On a Saturday night with Texas playing Georgia, the turned it off in the 3rd quarter. Expect better Mesa. Dining out is expensive, the quality needs to be there. read more

We've been here twice since the opening, Gavin was our server both times. Tonight it was full and loud, staff working hard while still being welcoming. Beer offerings good, food also good; pretzels are addictive. We'll definitely be back, though maybe not on a Friday night, way too loud. read more
