I was really in a hard place when arriving at this Uhaul with a motorcycle with a flat tire and being far from home. Korrey was so great. He took me in, heard my story, and helped find a solution - I rented a cube van with a ramp and got my cycle tied to the rails inside, so I could drive home and turn the truck in there. Everything about renting from this place was a pain. I've rented u-hauls before and its always been fine, but dealing with this place and the guy who runs it is like being punished. And for what? Just talking with this guy was like walking on eggshells trying not to piss him off right from the beginning, and then he yelled at my wife who was just trying to ask him if we could exchange for a bigger truck. Then he yells more at her, and at me, then demands that he's on a lunch break and to come back in 1 hour. Keep in mind this is 11am on a weekday and we are the only customers he's probably had all day.  Why did we deserve that? What did we do to piss him off? So we just took a few deep breaths and went about our business because sometimes people are just having a bad day. So, the next day we returned the van, everything is fine. End of story.... Nope! Then I get a bill where he overcharged us extra days on the rental and already ran our card. So now I get the great pleasure of trying to get a refund from him. Cant wait to see how many teeth I have to pull to get my money back. I'll never be renting from uhaul again. Ever. read more

Truck had 1.75 gallons of gas when I pick it up, needed 58 gallons which cost an extra $300, which I still have not been credited for and the brakes pedal hit the floor multiple times so I returned the truck. Horrible experience and will never use Uhaul again read more

Korrey was such a huge help in my ability to get my mom's stuff after she passed away. It was going to go to Auction a week after I learned of her passing and I didn't have the death certificates yet, it can take up to a month to get those. Korrey talked with his supervisor and made them stop the auction as well as allowing me to pay half of the overdue payments on the unit instead of the full amount. I was able to recover some of my mother's and my childhood memories and that is priceless. He was wonderfully responsive and just a kind soul who really extended his help to someone who was in pain. I only gave 4 stars because when I interfaced with Pete, I had a very negative interaction. He was not helpful at all and very abrasive to me in my situation. These guys were so helpful and really got me out of a stressful jam with a Uhaul issue. I had a storage facility from them 10/19-11/19 which was clean, easy to access, and they had great customer service. But they really helped me at the end of May 2020 when I was trying to get a 15' Uhaul for my 800 mile move. I'd rented the 15' Uhaul from another location in Palm Springs and had a bunch of issues Friday towards the end of the business day. I called these guys to see if they still had one last minute since the Palm Springs location absolutely messed up. They helped me secure another truck from a different location even when they were already closed. Thank you so much!! read more

I initially had an issue with getting the U-Haul I reserved and was very frustrated with my experience. I picked up my truck on Thanksgiving while the business was closed and unfortunately I was missing the dollie and nobody was available to help. The next day I called and spoke with Pete and he was way more than accommodating and helpful. He went above and beyond his job duties to get me taken care of and make it a pleasant experience, he's definitely an asset. Thank you for the quick resolution.. Peter was amazing. I needed a storage unit for my stuff and wasn't trying to get something bigger than what I needed. Gave Peter a breakdown of what I had, and he told me what I would need. Got all my stuff in the unit and he was dead on the money with which unit I should get. That and he's a fellow veteran so points there too. Thanks for your reply. There are a few errors in your assumptions. We rented over a week before I posted, I did not mention what day this occurred on. We did not tailgate to get through the gate. The gate was opened for us by a storage customer as a courtesy. He found us sitting at the entrance, trying to figure out, why we could not get in. No signs were posted on the exterior of the building regarding, closed for lunch. No mention of closed for lunch was mentioned when I rented. I do see the lunch hours on your web site. I did not review your web site before choosing to rent. Your reply seems to show some contempt for your customers. Surely the customers must be an error. Your reply it sounds mostly like spin control. read more

My husband and I are relocating to DHS coming from fontana. We needed to unloaded all our stuff Saturday because of the rented trailer, but we left fontana too late in the day that we were about to not make it to their office hours. My GPS said I would be there at exactly 5 so I went ahead and gave them a call to see if they would remain open for a few more minutes past closing time for me and they definitely did. The guys were super friendly and even though I made them stay past their shift, they never pressured me to get outta there fast or anything. Definitely recommend this place for their service!! read more

I have moved around a lot and have used self-storage in the past. Storing with Desert Self Storage was one of my better experiences. Josh was very helpful in selecting the right sized unit and he even walked me to the back corner unit in the blazing summer heat to give me a cheaper option. Any time I needed to communicate with them, either by phone or email, both Josh and Peter were polite and prompt in calling/emailing back. Josh even called me once to let me know I had not secured my unit properly. It's good to know someone is checking the locks. I could have lost a lot of my belongings. Thank you guys. I hope to never live in DHS again, but if I do and need storage, I know where to go. read more

The units are fine. The staff is unprofessional and rude at times. I don't feel my stuff is safe here that's why I moved. But for dhs it's the better choice of storages. read more
