We love DSP! We have 2 kids and have been patients since the beginning. My kids have seen almost all the physicians and I have not had a problem with any. We love the convinience of both office on each end of town- we live in the middle. We can call and get an appointment same day, even late in the day. Front office staff is always friendly and great with the kids. Back office staff is efficient and fast when it comes to the dreaded shots! Love when I call with a questions, I get a call within a couple hours from the Dr themselves. Have reccomended thier office to several friends that have all been equally satisfied! read more

We have two daughters & have been going to Desert Shores for 4 years. Most of the doctors there are amazing, but a few are bad and I would not recommend them. Dr. Lipp is incredible, we LOVE her. So great with the kids and extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and takes time with you. Kathy is really good as well. The nurses and front desk staff are always very nice. Would NOT recommend Dr. Ciminello or Staci. Both are very abrupt and harsh, not very sincere or caring. I just don't leave the office with a good feeling after seeing either of them. I would recommend this office, as long as you know which doctor to schedule with. read more

Love this place. Dr. Yin is amazing she always remembers my son. Sometimes we have to wait a while and the front office could be a little more engaged with the parents but they are usually busy. Anytime my son has been sick Dr Yin calls to follow up and check up on him. Would recommend them for sure. read more

I absolutely loved DS Ped. We only stopped going because we moved. Both my kids saw Dr. Allred since birth. My daughter had severe acid reflux and wasn't gaining weight. Dr. Allred worked closely with me to monitor her weight and come up with solutions that I was comfortable with. She didn't discount my input and never treated me as a first time over-protective parent. She always listened to me and made me feel respected. She's fantastic. The only reason I'm giving DS 4 stars instead of 5 is because of Marion, one of the PAs. I'm not a fan of him. I did have to see him a couple of times for urgent appointments and I was not happy either time. I don't care for his bed-side manner. At one of the visits my daughter had a very itchy, unusual rash on the bottom of both her feet. She was only 19 months,crying and attempting to scratch her feet constantly. Marion wasn't able to tell what the rash was and just left it at that. No attempt to refer us to a specialist, no medicine given, NOTHING. I ended up making another appointment to see Dr. Allred, who was much more concerned about the rash and referred us to a pediatric dermatologist. It actually took several months of visiting specialists to get the rash to go away (however, they did give us medicine immediately to help her itching). Had I not trusted my gut and made another appointment my daughter would have continued suffering for even longer. I did see several other PAs in the office and other doctors as well and I like everyone else. The staff was always welcoming and friendly. The remembered me and my children and were sad to see us leave. One note, if you are a little late to your appointment they can usually keep your appointment but if you are very late they will need to work you back into the schedule and sometimes that can take hours. Some people might be upset by that, personally I appreciated it. I understand that things come up and sometimes you might be late (especially with little babies) but they shouldn't be expected to push everyone else's appointments back to squeeze you back in. This happened to me once and they were kind about it and were able to work me back in 2 hours later. Every time my kids got sick and needed an appointment urgently, they were able to get me in on the same day. The Chandler office has Saturday hours that I utilized a few times as well. I have been going to Desert Shores Pediatrics for 5 years and every time I go I wonder why I still go back. The doctors are fine when I take my child for a sick visit, but when I am there for a well checkup (aka physical because that is what they said they are calling the well checkup now). I took my daughter to get her immunizations for 6th grade. As soon as I tell the medical assistant I am not interested in the gardisal vaccine she turns rude and starts questioning why I would choose to not give my child this vaccine. Then I was told to have her take her clothes off except for her bra and underwear and wear the paper gown. My 11 year old freaked out. So I asked why she needed to do that for her vaccinations. I was told I could refuse, so I did. When the doctor came in I am questioned again on why I don't want her to have the gardisal vaccine and why I chose to not have her cholesterol checked also. Then after she was done doing all her checks, she asked if she could peek at her private parts. Thinking that she was just looking to see how close she was to puberty, I said okay. Then she proceeds to have her take her pants and underwear down to her knees while she does a full check over. I have four kids (the oldest in college) and have been to other pediatric offices before this office and I have never had to have my kids take their clothes off to be checked!! This totally freaked my daughter out. She does not want to go back to the doctors. I know this is an office policy and not a doctor policy, but I don't like it at all. I will not be returning to this office. I wish my last doctor lived close. She respected the parents and their views. Why should an office pressure you into a vaccine that has a lot of controversy. read more

We've now had 2 doctor appointments here for my son, absolutely love his pediatrician, the office and staff, and are very happy with our decision to come here. Moved here and Really tried to like them after 3 tries. First off, they lost my children's shot records. Then just poor customer service starting at the front. Last doc I saw (which was for my 6 month old), was late coming in to my appt. I wasn't even bothered by that, But she sat down in the chair and said "I am sorry I am late, these last two patients took way to long! " That started it off weird. Then when I asked here a sincere question about formulA or my child having trouble sleeping she interrupted and blurted out, " One of two things... he is sleeping in your room, or you are feeding him" and I said " well both and she proceeded toward the door and said THAT is your answer. I was not even finished with the appt. FELT very rushed, and not heard. Another thing you should know is that they do NOT offer combo vaccines as well. We have taken our son to Dr. Lipp in the Chandler office for the past 2.5 years (since birth). They are wonderful! I have always been able to get a same day sick appointment. We have never had any long delays. The nurses are very kind. And Dr. Lipp is amazing. She is fun and nice, and our son likes her. She spends the time to understand what is wrong, gives us options and recommendations, and helps us to understand our little guy's health and development. Plus, Dr. Lipp has time to answer our questions and makes us feel welcome to call at any time. read more

Started coming here when my daughter was born and saw Dr. Potts. Absolutley loved her. My daughter is now 15 months and weve been in approx every 3 months. Since shes been born every visit they have messed up my insurance and I get a $1000 bill. So every 3 months I have to call them and tell them she has been on our plan since the day she was born. So they tell me they "fix" it. Until the next well visit and it gets denied again...long story short I have had to do this run around over 6 times. Very annoying but again I loved Dr. Potts so I looked past front office mistakes. Well recently I found out Dr. Potts moved and was so upset. I came in for her visits and have seen other providers that are just ok... but the most irritating thing is waiting well over 45 min each visit. I understand things happen and it gets busy, I work in a medical office, so I have given mulitple chances but today was last straw. I arrived 15 min early, was brought back right away and undressed my 1 year old and got her weight. We then sat in the room for 45 minutes, opening the door twice to see if anyone was coming. Its not exactly easy to ask a 1 year old to sit in a room for 45 minutes...let alone in just a diaper in the winter. So after 45 minutes I got her dressed and walked out. I received a phone call asking if I left 20 min later, and telling me I didnt get her vaccines...which yes im aware I could not wait any longer. I took my (then) 16 month old daughter to this office for our first ever appointment with Dr. Yin a few months ago. I have 4 children and have been a mother for 16 years. In all of my years as a parent I have never had an experience like I did that day. The whole appointment was uncomfortable for both my daughter and myself. Upon entering the room, Dr. Yin said my daughter's name with a questioning tone, normal for a new doctor, but when I confirmed that she had the name right, she asked "Oh, so that really is her name?" Yes. That is the name on her forms. She then paid much more attention to me than to my daughter, asking if her car seat was rear or front facing, asking what kind of car I drive, asking if my house is baby-proofed, asking if my children have a strong male role model in their lives (I am married, it states that on my forms. I was wearing my wedding ring, we are a Christian family, it was confusing and offensive), lecturing me because I don't have the phone number for poison control saved in my cell phone. Again, i have Been a mother for 16 years, I think I can handle another baby safely. She coldly looked over my baby like she was some inatimate object, never speaking to her, never engaging her. I have to say, our visit with Dr. Yin was the most bizarre experience I've ever had as a parent. She is rude, judgemental and condescending. I also don't like that it is the policy of this office that you cannot hold your baby while shots are administered. You must lay your baby flat on the exam table and literally pin the baby down while they administer the shots. This was traumatic for both me and my baby, who is used to her mother comforting her, not forcing her into scary positions while a stranger hurts her. I have never had to do this, in all of my years as a parent. It was heartbreaking. I will never refer anyone to this office and we have already found a new pediatrician. Although the service is good, this office is not! I have three children and each appointment I have had to wait an average of 45 minutes- 1 hour before seeing the doctor. The worse part is they get you in quick to the room and take the vitals but then just leave you in there for a LONG TIME! I have had so many times where I was waiting with my undressed baby in the back room with my 2 other kids bored out of there minds not knowing when the doctor is coming in. At least let me wait in the waiting room with the disney movie, and books. SO FRUSTRATING! After calling to reschedule an appointment and not being able to see any of their 10 doctors/NP/or PA I am DONE! MY TIME IS VALUABLE TOO! I would not ever recommend this pediatric office to anyone. read more

If any mom wants to bring their child/children here to Desert Shore Pediatrics for doctors' services, please don't see Dr. Suna Yin. Although she is a pediatrician, she is not experienced in her field. She guesses alot and she likes to overdose your child if your child needs medication. Please always DOUBLE CHECK her work!!! Just for your child's health/ safety. Although she appears to be friendly and nice but she is not. She likes to gossip---and I mean ALOT. Please stay clear from Dr. Yin- NOT too good in her expertise and she is not trustworthy. See other docs -better for your children. read more

Not only did Dr. Nason over two years' time not once saw our son, but they also completely missed out on diagnosing "lazy eye". The first well-child visit with another doctor found he is almost blind on the right eye. A pediatric ophtalmologist asserts that this is not a recent development, but could and should have been diagnosed at least during last year's well-child visit. read more

Doctors are fine, but the billing practices here are awful. I took both of my kids in for a well check and on two separate occasions I was charged an extra fee. I was charged a fee for my son because I asked questions regarding his severe allergies. Then I took my daughter in for her well check and they charged me an office visit fee because they wrote a prescription for an ear infection that wasn't really an ear infection yet. I can't ask questions at a well check and my kid can't happen to be sick or I get charged extra each time. I loved the doctors at this office but not at the added expense. I feel I should be able to ask questions and get answers. I am not one of those parents that is in their office every week. I feel like they took advantage of getting some extra money out of me. read more

Desert Shores is an amazing office. The front office has been nice to me and my kiddo and Dr Allred is so great with my son. He's always had a tough time with strangers and he cried pretty much the entire 1 year well check up but she was super understanding and tried to cheer him up and everything. He also is a big kid but has a lot of issues, so most other doctors we have seen just looked at his weight and dismissed all of his other ailments. She was thorough and caring and made sure we got referrals for a couple of places he needed for treatment, brought up concerns we did not know about that have turned out very important she caught early, and made sure all of our questions were answered. The nurse was also great with my son. I have been in touch with other offices for referrals and it was always a pain to get them. Not here. They were on top of getting them sent over and always call to check in and get an update so they can request results and keep things up to date. read more

I never felt the need to write a bad review on yelp but I have also never had such a horrible experience at a doctors office. Yesterday I took my two year old Son into the Gilbert location because for the last three days he has had flu like symptoms (Vomiting, Fever, diarrhea, etc) and he has also had runny nose and been very congested along with a bloody nose. The doctor we saw her name was Carolyn. She suggested I give my son Benadryl before bed every night and THAT IS IT. Please keep in mind this is AFTER I have been told by other pediatric doctors that Benadryl should ONLY be used when a child is having an allergic reaction to something. The doctor we saw at this office yesterday could not have made it more clear that she is only there for a pay check and not really to help these young children who are ill. I will NEVER take my son back to this office and I also have three other mom friends who have only had bad experiences here. read more

All three of my children are seen here. I would never go to any other pediatrician. The doctors here absolutely love children. My kids doctor Cheri Nason, has seen my girls through good times and bad. One of my daughter's has a motor skill delay and today she is thriving from the help of the doctors. She is now 1 yrs old and is practically walking and hitting most of her milestones. They have always taken the time out to answer all of my questions and have really made me feel my daughter is receiving the best care. I've had to call outside of office hours, when my babies were sick with high fevers. There's always an on-call doctor, they called me periodically throughout the night, watching her temperature, till she was seen the next day. I have never seen a bill for this service. They simply truly care for the wellbeing of their children patients. I have heard horror stories from a new mom who's doctor actually charged her $100.00 to tell her that her daughter was slightly underweight during her well visit and another $75.00 tell her she should talk to a lactation specialist. read more
