Recently went in while my GF and my daughter were getting their nails done. Was greeted right away. My GF son loves Pokemon and I was going to buy him some cards as well as Magic for myself. GF calls mad, because she kept getting skipped over. The employee at DSG recommended a place in the same strip mall. Long story short, the girls got their nails done, and the boys got some cards. I am writing this review as someone who was initially not a customer but will be now. Tonight, my mother, my 2 kids, and I went to dinner at the establishment next door and the parking lot was packed. Having 2 kids and my mother, who had knee replacement surgery, we wanted and were waiting for a good parking spot. As one opened, some young kid who needs to learn a few things, whipped by and took the spot I was waiting for. Then, he did not have the decency to get out of the car while I waited to speak to him. I then parked in the parking lot at the next plaza over and walked in to tell him that he was a disrepectful douche and I wanted to make sure that his peers knew wht he did. I was fine with just telling him that, but when we sat down, a nice manager from this store came over to apologize for his patron and offered to buy us an appetizer. After reluctance I took the money and later went into the store to buy some comics as it was not their fault but it was extremely nice that they did that. My kids and I will be returning as they love comics and I love great customer service. read more

Great place for Pokémon players!! My daughter and I try and go every Sunday to their Pokémon League because this place has a great vibe. All the workers are nice and the crowd here is very helpful and nice as well. Definitely recommend for all my fellow Pokémon TCG players!! read more

This comic shop was roomy and bright. Lot's of tables for you to play games. Staffs were very helpful and friendly. Found a cool corner with discounted games. I bought Adventure Time Monopoly, D&D board game, and some cute frosted pink dices. Will need to go back to see what else they might have/heeheehee. Oh they have comic books and other nicknacks. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, but let's just say I'm not that happy with this LGS. I've bought 3 MTG booster boxes from here (over $300 worth).The first time was a good transaction, polite and all. The second one was off putting. The employee grabbed 2 packs (probably around $10 each) from a booster box and opened them with a friend (not a worker) and didn't have the friend pay. And the third booster box was kind of a last call for me and desert sky games. I bought a box and the employee had to open a new case. The first box he grabbed out seemed a bit off. It was sealed but it appeared to have more packs in the left column and missing packs in the center. He set it aside and grabbed another box telling me "I'm going to save that to open with a friend later." Yes, keep the interesting box and don't offer it to the customer instead... Needless to say, playing mtg, and drafting here are probably ok, but customer service is VERY hit or miss. One of their best workers is Griffin. I remember his name because he stood out and was helpful. Customer service was on point with him. read more

These guys ripped off me and my friend. They sold the new pokemon boxes for $10 more than what they would be at Walmart or target. They also low ball you on cards you are trying to sell. Only go here if you wanna deal with up tight nerds. read more

This place is great. The ownership really helps keep them a step ahead of other stores. Always friendly, and always fair. They have been getting bad reviews by a guy and his posse of friends that are just trying to hurt his business. He wanted retail value for his items, but thats not how this works. Made a point to stop at the store in a west coast trip. Was very impressed by the selection, pricing, and staff. The owner is one of the best minds in the business and runs a very good ship. We were traveling from Albuquerque to Phoenix and decide to look up local MTG shops. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the wide selection of cards. Their kiosks made getting the cards we need easy. The owner Griffin was very nice and helpful with all of our questions. An Avid Heroclix player. I've spent a few months looking for a place to play heroclix on a regular basis and while doing so I was checking the Wiz kids website I was seeing that Desert Sky were having tourneys on every Sunday at 12pm, well I went to play at one of them. No one greeted me when I came into the store but they did see me, the look I received was like what was I doing there and the Heroclix players greeted me like I it was forced no one introduce themselves. So ever since I've been there they made no more postings of what was being played or when and when I call the store to see if there was a Heroclix game being played he couldn't tell me anything or any of his employees could either. So I went in there this past Sunday and they were there setting up for a game and when I ask them have they been playing every weekend they said yes and I mention that I haven't seen any postings they said that that they always post. Personal opinion, they seem cliquish and maybe a'lil bit racist to me and I'm in here buying heroclix stuff every week. Its to bad nice product, decent prices, a pretty store but the Heroclix players and the Store Employees leaves something to desire I rather go to Game Dep[oote that in Tempe. read more

Just walked out of this shop. ...I was informed that the end of year sale is still going on. ...and all back issues in the comic boxes on the floor of their shop are $.99...when I found some very nice comics in those boxes on the floor which I was told by the person running the counter that they were all $.99...they world not sell me what I found for that price. ..it's unfortunate. .this was my first time in the shop and was buying other items as well...left the items on the counter I was going to buy in addition to the.. $.99 comics I wanted. ......bad business. .they wouldn't honor what was told to me buy the clerk on staff. ..never coming back. ..unless they honor the sale price. .. read more
