I wanted my usual Indian but didn't feel like driving out of the way. So there's apparently this new place right on my drive home. Good reviews, let's go in. I went in, and the entire place is marked Self Service. You order at the kiosk and you pick up at the counter, whether dining in or taking out. Okay, fine. This was my first time. Staff is very friendly but difficult to understand, so I took my time translating foods. Settled on Manchurian paneer for the appetizer and a dry chicken (pachi mirchi kodi) biryani for my main course. Nice and spicy. I considered eating in vs. taking out; it's a modern bare place and there are several tables although nothing fancy (hard plastic and wood benches), but the main factor is that the drinks are overpriced. Maybe bring your own? Problem with the kiosk is that I can't just ask for water, nowhere to type in requests - though I do not recommend Parsippany water. Maybe the lassi is worth it but the cups weren't that large for $4 plus. One man's opinion. With that said, now that I've mentioned the kiosk, if you want or need to customize your order (allergies, add-ons, etc.), I do believe you can walk up and order in person as well. Spicy food home after multiple warnings. Verdict? Paneer: Less spicy and less crispy than I expected. Dipping sauces included, but at least one seemed like it was meant for the biryani. The white yogurt sauce I held onto. At least a solid portion size 3.75/5. Biryani: Meat buried under the rice. Good quantity, unique flavor for a "dry meat" dish that I had to look up. Spice maybe a touch hotter on this one. 5/5. Sauces: The brown sauce is thick and not spicy. Made it my dessert. White helped with the heat. Neither sauce was on the menu but they were thrown in with my order, which was nice. Verdict: Fun, convenient, and I'll keep it in mind to try some different things here as I pass every afternoon - but it's not dethroning my favorite. read more

Goat Pepper Fry - if you're a spicy-food lover, this is the dish you must order here. Due to family commitments, I couldn't visit this place when it first opened in my city--but better late than never, right? We went on a cold Sunday night, and to my surprise, the place looked completely deserted. It immediately felt more like a takeaway spot than a proper dine-in restaurant. The paper plates, plastic cutlery, and overall setup confirmed it. And yes--my guess was right. Their business model is clearly focused on takeaway / online orders / to-go, with very little emphasis on dine-in even though they have 6-7 tables that could seat around 28 people. It's just not their priority, it seems. Anyway, I ordered at the counter: Goat Pepper Fry I honestly can't recall having a better version anywhere. Rajni's version comes close, but this one wins in consistency and flavor. Absolutely worth it. Pachi Mirchi Kodi Biryani- Let's not call it biryani--because it's not. But as a dish? Fantastic. It's more like chicken gravy mixed with rice, and it tastes really good. but its miles away from being called BIRYANI. I'm a big mutton/lamb/goat and biryani lover. Most people hesitate to try goat at restaurants due to the smell, but I always give it a shot--knowing I'll be disappointed 70% of the time. This time, it paid off. Overall, I'd give them a 4/5, but: * I'm deducting 1/2 star for hygiene. Even if dine-in isn't their focus, the restaurant still needs basic cleaning. Tables, stands, and doors were visibly dirty. * Another 1/2 star for the paper plates and plastic cutlery. I can't enjoy biryani with tiny plastic spoons--they practically cut your lips. So technically it's 3/5, but that Goat Pepper Fry is such a highlight that I'm pushing it back to 4/5. I'll definitely be trying more items from them. read more

Very tasty biriyani. Definitely one of the better ones that I've had. Only complaint was that it was a little too salty. Ordered the chicken fry option, and there was a generous amount of chicken. I couldn't even finish the dish. Its a very casual setup: order at counter, paper plates. They also had some free chai tea the night I visited. It's in a lot with ample parking. Superb food, gracious and very helpful service, relaxed atmosphere. Nine of us had a family dinner on Father's Day. To start ordered a buttered naan, which was hot and tasty. While we are familiar with (some) Indian cuisine, some if the dishes here were new to us; our gracious host helped us choose, snd gave us a couple of new tastes to try: bonda were delicious, with a cumin taste. Samosas were different than what we know, and were very good. For main courses we ordered biryani, saag, butter chicken and goat curry, all superb. Our hosts then gave us bread and carrot puddings for dessert, a perfect ending. Very informal atmosphere suited us fine; we had three little kids who could run and play as they wished. Absolutely phenomenal, and the best Indian food I've had in YEARS! My husband & I ended up here on a whim, and actually came to the strip mall to eat elsewhere while visiting and on the road, but were drawn in by the glowing google reviews and the customers dining in at the time. Pro Tip, if you want great, authentic Indian food, find an Indian restaurant with mostly (better if all) Indian patrons. We knew we made the right choice when we perused the menu, and had not heard of half of the items on it. We asked for 3-4 level of spice out of 5, and were so pleased that they did not hold back! We ended up with the following: - Bezwada Biryani: Without a doubt, the BEST biryani I've ever had. So flavorful, chicken so tender (despite being boneless), and you really tasted the freshness of the spices. Just an explosion of flavor, and a generous portion to boot. I'm honestly not convinced I'll find a better biryani in my lifetime--it was THAT good. - Andhra Chicken Curry: Also super flavorful, super tender. I didn't know what to expect because I'd never heard of this dish before, but it was love at first bite. - Garlic Naan: Came piping hot, fresh out of the oven. Absolutely divine for sopping up the divine curry sauce! The staff were also incredibly kind and offered us a complimentary mix of snacks! We were very touched by this, and they also checked in with us multiple times. 10/10 experience, and highly recommend. It's absolutely worth going out of your way for, trust me. read more

Initially was looking for a place that sells paneer kulcha. Lady at the counter was very nice and had told me to try The paneer butter masala. I'm a bit picky with trying something out of the ordinary, but decided to order that and two garlic naan. The paneer butter masala was fire ! Believe the HYPE! I stopped off for lunch with my husband after Desi Cravings popped up on Google maps with a 5 star rating. I sensed the good vibes from the parking lot. The restaurant owner was so inviting, he guided us on what to order and checked on us during the meal. The food immediately transported us from New Jersey to Southern India with its divine authenticity, suddenly we were immersed in incredible flavors and echos of laughter from other happy customers. The dessert just put us over the edge, all we could do was let out a chorus of, "mmmmm, mmmm, mmmmm." We left with our bellies and hearts full. read more
