Delighted to find authentic delicious Indian food in the Country Store where they make it fresh, you name your heat level! Really liked their pav bhaji ($10), a thick vegetable stew - really a curry I guess - served with a buttered sub roll. Absolutely loved the paneer kathi rolls ($10), a pair of thick soft tortillas (they're parathas) stuffed with cheese, chopped fresh onion, a spicy sauce and a generous sprinkle of fresh herbs, super extra yummy. I asked for a solid medium spice level and it was exactly right, good heat but no milk (or raita) needed to cool it down. Gotta return for Biryani when it feels safe to eat in the restaurant. Vegetarian rating: definitely 5 stars if you stick to TCS Indian menu and you like spice. Sorry, I cannot guide you on the standard Jersey deli sandwiches here, but they make 'em. While you're doing takeout, take advantage of the beer, wine and hard liquor, modest selection but the prices looked very fair to me. The lady chef at TCS is from Gujarat. This place was the start of the family's Bollywood Grill empire, locations in Lake Hiawatha and Morris Plains. read more

I am giving this store a 1 star even though they deserve a 0. For years I have frequented this store to buy lunch and the owners were always so nice and friendly. Just went in there recently and the new owner or at least the person behind the counter was so extremely rude it was unbelievable. He wouldnt talk to me, even when I thanked him and when he did look at me it was with a look of pure disdain. Needless to say I will never go in again.... Beware! read more

Get some great takeout Indian food ( rice bowls and sandwiches) . Tikka masala sauce was great. I ate at an outdoor table . Went in today and no workers were wearing masks. I told the lady I wanted to cancel my sandwich order because of this and she looked at me dumbfounded as if she didn't even know what coronavirus was. Of all the people in the store the ones making the food should be the ones wearing the masks right? First time I've seen a business act this way. I have been going to The Country Store for over ten years (with a couple years off due to a work change). I've tried to make it my mission to order every sandwich/wrap on their menu. Everything on the menu is fantastic. I wish I could say I have a favorite, but it is all very good. You can get excellent traditional American deli. However if you love Indian food, the Chicken Tikka, Chicken (or Paneer) Kathi Roll, Chili Cheese Onion Sandwich and Egg Bhurji are really, really good. I have stopped here over the few years to grab a bfast sandwich, soda, etc. After the last two trips, I will never return. The bagel I bought for breakfast a few weeks back was so disgustingly dry I threw it out after two bites. Okay, lesson learned no bagels from here. The food was good, I admit, but the pricing was simply outrageous. Basking Ridge is a nice town, but it isn't Aspen, Greenwich (CT), Beverly Hills, or Palm Beach. One Kati roll and a can of expired soda can't cost almost $13. Mind you, I picked the least expired can I could find in the case -- in July 2017, they had cans with expiration dates in 2016! To be fair, some of the sandwiches on the menu appeared to be more reasonably priced (like $8), but the Kati roll price wasn't posted anywhere, and I couldn't have dreamed they cost around $11. Kati rolls are an economical street food, for God's sake! They were sitting out in the open already made (which doesn't seem very safe), using chicken tikka that was repurposed. Give me a break. If this fits your budget, enjoy, but I won't be patronizing a business gouging its customers. read more

I live in Bernardsville and have driven by this place a million times. I had a pretty lousy sandwich there about 10 years ago and never when back. Well...my wife ended up there today as fate would have it because Minute Man was closed. She noticed they had Indian food and knows how much I like that type of food so she brought me home dinner. Hands down it was best Chicken Tikka Masala I have ever had! For $10 it was priced right too! My daughter got a burger that she said was also awesome. They deliver too which instantly has made me a new regular customer! read more

What a find! The food is great and the lady chef is very nice and helpful with describing the Indian food I was unfamiliar with. I went in for a Taylor ham egg and cheese, she ended up giving me a sample of the chicken tikka rice bowl and wow. Even at 9:30 am it was hitting the spot, super delicious. Not your typical deli, Country Store makes an amazing variety of sandwiches, bowls and wraps. While all the staples are there, many items offer some international twists, with emphasis on Indian - highlighted by the Kathi Roll and Chicken Tikka Masala rice bowl. Plenty of seating, great service, and wifi provided. The liquor store is helpful too. While the wine selection is not great, ask them to stock whatever you like and they'll add it to the shelves. read more

I ordered a grilled chicken salad, loaded with tomatoes, onions, red roasted peppers, black olives, feta cheese and lettuce. Wow... I swear it weighed 5 pounds. I saw the high reviews and since this place is in my neighborhood, I decided to visit. I had a simple breakfast, egg whites omelette with vegetables and a cup of coffee. Coffee was good, my omelette was below average. Food was served on a plastic plate with plastic utensils. My take on the place is that it's basically a deli, with a deli level cooking to match. As far as breakfast goes, there are a couple places nearby that I like much better. read more

I went there for breakfast today. I ordered the western omelette which comes with toast and a hash brown. I received my omelette and toast. There was no hash brown. I thought they would bring it to me. After I finished I went to pay and I asked the cashier why I never received the hash brown. He told me they ran out and there was no other mention and no other offer to reduce the price or give me the small coffee for free. As a small business owner this was poor. It was not a big deal but it should have been mentioned when I ordered that they did not have hash browns. If you advertise something you need to deliver. That's the last time I will go there. He needs to get a lesson in customer service. I was charged the full amount. read more

The Country Store is hands down some of the best breakfast around. The morning crew is always there early and the coffee is always ready. As far as lunch goes, there's not a thing on the menu that isn't amazing. Tons of authentic Indian specials to choose from at great prices. These guys are the best! We live near by and stop in to pick up lunch a few days a week. It is also a convenient place to pick up wine, beer, even bags of ice. They know who their regular customers are and bend over backwards to take care of them. We feel so lucky to have them in the neighborhood. read more

This is a deli that also sells wine. It also sells a small selection of Indian food, and it's awesome. The deli is run by Indian people, and while they have a wide selection of your traditional American deli sandwiches and salads, they also have about 10-15 Indian dishes like chicken tikka masala, biryani, and some rotating specials. I love these dishes--they are not light on spiciness or flavor. It's a refreshing change for a town that is almost entirely American or Italian cuisine. I've tried one or two of their more interesting deli wraps/sandwiches, like the Black Mex or the one with falafel in it, and loved them. I think they do delivery, but I believe it caters more to the local corporate office workers rather than local residents. Once I tried to get delivery shortly before their closing hours in the evening and they refused. Oh well! Overall, it's a great deli with interesting offerings, and I love having access to Indian food in this area. read more
