This caught my attention by the price $3.99 on sale from 7.99, crape! Looks from the appearance! I expect there must be delicious filling inside! After my first bite, it is just a bread taste , little sweet! Texture is just like bread! I know I got cheated ! Don't buy any shit from their appearance in that store !

After having a mouth-gasm with LA Crawfish My tastebuds were tingling for something sweet. Not a plain Ice-cream cone, brownie, or a cookie but something different so what better than something inside the Oriental 99 store so we stumbled across Desir bakery. I was in heaven! they had so many options of tasty delights, I kept debating on what to try until I made up my decision to try their Forest cake and Mango mousse cake. I cannot tell you which one I Liked because I loved them both! They were so light and tasty, AM I so looking forward to my next trip here!!

Blueberry pastries, custard, and mini cheesecake.

I like the concept of being able to get a tray and pick out the pastries that you want instead of relying on the person at the counter to pick out the not-so-pretty pastries first from the group. Yes, I admit, I judge a book by its cover. But I believe the inside also counts. :) I came here after 7pm on a Saturday and all of the pastries were BOGO! I didn't realize this because I was so into the huge assortment that I didn't see the sign posted in the very front. D'oh! Luckily, I eventually figured this out though. I got two of the blueberry cheese pastries and I thought these were just okay. The blueberry filling was amazing and everything I could have ever hoped for but there just wasn't enough. The bread to filling ratio was so off; it was like 92% bread and 8% filling. I would have been okay with this if the bread had been just a teensy bit sweeter. There wasn't a general flavor to it without the filling. Along with the blueberry pastry, I also bought four custard puddings (essentially flan) and a mini, individual portion cheesecake. The flan was really good but could have used just a little bit more of the caramel sauce. I could have eaten a hundred of those little buggers. The cheesecake was delicious, even after sitting in my fridge for three days! It was fluffy and decadent. I wish I had gotten the larger cheesecake instead. Oh well, there will always be a next time. Definitely!

I have been a huge fan of this bakery shop because of its creativity to make a great variety of delicious breads, both sweet and savory, and also because of the BOGO deals in the evening hours! *woots* Besides the breads, the mini angel food cakes rolled with pork sung (dry shredded pork) or red bean & cream are pretty delicious as well. Last but not least, the Napoleon is as good as it gets! Unlike the European Mille-feuille, this Asian style Napoleon does not have the fattening custard at all; it is composed of fluffy sponge cake slices layered with flaky puff pastries & light cream, which seems to have much less calories than the traditional Napoleon puff pastry dessert.

No visible improvement in quality in recent months :/ RIP desir

The recent changes are tragic. In the last few months, many items seem to have changed for the worse and gotten smaller without changing price. The breads are now poorly made and very inconsistent. The old workers must have left and been replaced by untrained amateurs. Would cautiously recommend for now.

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I am referring to the mille fuille. The chocolate cake was really good and held up for a few days. I bought 4 baguettes, 4 mille fuille, 4 chocolate cakes and 2 boxes of mixed macaroons for $100. So not cheap but the flavor and presentation was nice. It's a must try in Houston. They do not suffer from a lack of business. So lines can be long. They are efficient however!! Bon appetit

I will definitely be back specifically to get some more of those. My chai latte was very good as well. Service was friendly, attentive, and overall welcoming. We finally came around to checking it out and OMG YES. It absolutely is worth the hype. As a lover of egg tarts and someone who is also very particular about it - these have won my heart! I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back. Next time we'll come earlier and get a bigger order and try their other offerings.

It's served in a foldable paper cup, so that's kinda weird, but also makes me feel like I'm saving the earth by purchasing this $9 drink. - pho beef kolache: one of a kind and you gotta try it. I found it pleasantly surprising. It was served hot and a fair size that won't completely fill you up but it ain't no sample size either. I loved it. - Thai banana pudding: this was the highlight. I'm not sure if it's a seasonal item, but if they have it, you gotta get it. It was delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was extra pleasant, and though the indoor seating is limited, the outdoor seating is plentiful. Ambiance is hip and cool as one would expect from an EaDo shop. Enjoy!

I've always liked bakeries, but I try to eat on the healthier side, so I usually avoid anything that might tempt me.But I am a sucker for cinnamon rolls, so when I saw they had them, of course I had to try one and they are so, so good. Now we actually go there about once every two weeks because we love it that much and I look forward to opening the front doors and smelling the sweet smell of baked goods Recently we also found out that they have cheese & sausage kolaches, and oh my gosh, they are delicious. They are really, really good and were such a nice surprise when we tried them. The location closest to us is the one on Airline Drive, and we usually go in the afternoon so we can avoid the after-work crowd. That time of day works really well for us because there aren't too many people, which makes it easier to grab bread and look around without feeling rushed. The ordering process is pretty quick and simple. You grab your metal tray and tongs, open each little door, pick what you want, and put it on the tray. When you're ready, you go to the register where the ladies count the breads, ring everything up, and bag it nicely for you. We're usually in and out pretty fast, which we really like. We love going to El Bolillo, and at this point it has definitely become a staple for us. We honestly can't get enough of it.
