I did hear about a horrible situation in 2024 where they were robbed and a devastating $800K in inventory was stolen from this family business. My heart broke for them when I heard that and I wondered if they'd stay in business after. Just recently, prior to our triplets graduation from GHS this year, I was having coffee in the Village thinking about something meaningful my wife, Gwen, and I could give to our kids to commemorate their milestone. I was thinking it would be cool to have a cross with their name and their bible verse from their baptism as a reminder to always shine God's light in the world. It was a passing thought. I only had a few days until graduation and I thought to myself, 'I should have come up with that a few weeks ago.'. But, I glanced across the street and saw Desiré and thought, hey, maybe I'll drop in and see if they have any ideas on something special. I was buzzed in and my first thought was, oh no, this wasn't going to work. No inventory out. Guessing due to the robbery the prior year. There wasn't anything to look at. But, I was greeted by a lady named Jennifer who asked what I was looking for and how she could help. So, I told her my original thoughts on the cross and engraving and her reply was sure, we can do that. My next thoughts were... one - I don't have enough time to wait... and two - it's going to cost more than I'd like to spend. She quickly addressed both concerns and came up with a thoughtful design within budget and our tight time constraints. They finished the engraved cross necklaces and texted me to come pick them up. They were each bagged nicely and in a jewelry box ready to gift to our triplets. I also picked up a fourth gift, one for my wife, with our triplets' initials. It was an unexpected gift for the kids and Gwen and they all loved it. Not a flashy design. A simple cross engraved to remind them that they each have the power to be a light in someone else's world as they head off to college. And, a little thanks to my beautiful and amazing wife for gifting us with the greatest gift of our lives - our three kids. So... my review is quite personal. Monir and Jennifer from Desiré surprised me with such personal service and a small town touch. I pray they'll rebound and have a full inventory before long as no business should have to go through such loss due to theft. I will start off with that are extremely friendly, and I appreciate that. However, I'm disappointed in the craftsmanship. I resized both my wedding and engagement rings here. I've had them for over 12 years, but wanted them a little bigger. Unfortunately you can see the seam where my band was resized and the seam on my engagement ring broke after 4 months. I brought it back, and they did fix it no charge which I appreciate but you can still see the seam on the band after the second visit and my engagement ring now has a lump where they added more gold.
