We came here on a weekend evening and saw that this dessert place shares its space with Moussaka Restaurant. I'm not sure if you can sit here if the restaurant is full, but they did ask if we were going to have our dessert there, even though we took the dessert to go. The place was super busy though but it seems that this bakery partners with the restaurant. We ordered the Twix biscoff cookie muffin and the peach cheesecake. Both items were very good even though somewhat sweet. The Biscoff Twix cookie muffin had biscoff cream inside along with pieces of Twix and baked in a muffin-shaped cookie. Very creative and delicious! The peach cheesecake was a little on the sweeter side but tasted very much like peaches. The crust was a little weird because it was more like a pastry pie crust as opposed to a graham cracker crust. Probably my least favorite part about the cheesecake. But the pastries here are very creative. We would come back to try the others. Delicious!

The BEST desserts in San Leandro. Dessertchu is located inside Moussaka Mediterranean Restaurant. I've been here multiple times and they have so many options from cheesecakes, cakes and brownies. Niles and Luna the owners are the sweetest people on earth and their desserts are SO GOOD. The Dubai chocolate cheesecake and the slutty brownie is our favorite. Every time we come, there's so many options to choose from and I love how creative they get with their flavors!

What a wonderful dessert spot with an impressive array of goodies! The chef was so helpful and positive that even if the desserts were soso, I'd still write them a good review. That wasn't the case though! We picked up a peanut butter cheesecake brownie, Turkish delights, baklava, and a banana pudding cheesecake. All were great! Nothing was overly sweet, so it's especially good for the eastern palate. Highly recommend!

Went in for the viral Dubai Chocolate bar but they were all out. They did have the Dubai Chocolate dome. The nice lady said it's the same thing but has more of the filling. It was their last one so I said that I will take it. I also bought a creme brulee cheesecake. I wish that the filling had more of a gooey filling but it was still very good.

Dessert options, but they bring it out from the back?

Didn't even get to try their over-priced desserts. Let me explain. Dessertchu is located inside a Mediterranean restaurant. While the display may seem like it's a part of the Mediterranean restaurant, everything seems to point to the fact that Dessertchu operates independently from that restaurant? How peculiar. My wife and I wanted to get some desserts and we happened to find Dessertchu on Yelp. We had a hard time finding it until we saw that it's really just a dessert display counter within this other restaurant. How odd, as no one really paid any attention or stationed behind this counter. We asked a waitress about the desserts and she smiled and said she'll be right with us. She then went on to take care of other customers that were clearly interested in eating at the restaurant as opposed to ordering dessert. 10 minutes after watching her go to two separate tables and seating 1 new customer (there were only those three tables), we had to flag her down 2 times indicating that we're ready to make our selection. After she came over, she took down what we wanted and then proceeded to go do whatever the heck she was going to do. Another 10 minutes without anyone tending to us as we waited, we finally decided to leave. As it so happens, someone from the back finally comes out with desserts in hand-but why do you have your desserts in the display case if you're walking out with desserts? Quite peculiar. Ultimately, we walked away without getting anything as our experience ruined any semblance of wanting to be customers of Dessertchu. Simply put, they don't care about you unless you're actually trying to eat at the restaurant. We stood there being ignored when the restaurant wasn't even busy. Without any updates as to what was going on with our order, having to stand there for 20 or some odd minutes made this experience incredibly unappealing and regrettable. So... save yourselves the trouble and go somewhere where they actually care.

Dessertchu has a counter showcase just inside Moussaka. Menu is posted on M's window. Showcase is filled with tasty looking pastries, albeit no name tags nor pricing. Owner of M & D is present, saying bakes are made fresh daily. Ready to take order when I'm ready. Offerings: cheesecake/cake slices, baklava varietals, macaroons, individual desserts.... Choose a few items. Receipt not itemized. Not sure what I received. Eats didn't reflect items on "menu" Eats: -melty fudge brownie topped with layer of vanilla cheesecake (3) the fudge brownie portion was on point. -the topping didn't taste nor looked vanilla cheesecake. Chocolate mouse cake slice (7) -mostly sponge cake with chocolate essence topped with chips of chocolate granache. --didn't taste like what I expected. Key lime pie slice (6) -very tart taste. Never tasted key lime with such tartness. Take outs: -pie/cake slices packaged in sturdy white boxes, traveled well. Had a few days shelf life in fridge. 3.5 stars was curious about desserts. Expectations not met due to inadequate descriptions re: desserts. *same lead to uninformed dessert choices. *quality of ingredients not an issue. Lack of transparency an issue.

We dropped by here to get dessert on our way to dinner. We were greeted by huge smiles from the staff and the owner Nile is such an awesome and friendly person. We spoke to Nile on the phone before coming and as soon as we walked in she came over and introduced herself and have us recommendations for dessert. Her and her mom make all the desserts fresh daily and Nile is also the chef. Will update later on the taste of the desserts but by the smell of the food cooking I'm not going to be disappointed Update: All the cakes are delicious and the macarons are exquisite. They're the perfect amount of sweet and moist. So so good!

This little dessert spot is hidden inside the restaurant Moussaka, but once you enter, you'll feel so welcomed by the chef/owner, who clearly works hard to maintain both places. She stated that one is her love and the other is her baby. The vibe upon entering is very apparent, and there's a sense of energy and light in the space - the decor was cute as well! It was also refreshing to see the chef/owner all around the restaurant, welcoming and seating patrons, as well as taking orders and serving - she really had no issue doing it all! We went with a variety of desserts: tiramisu, mango mousse cake, and pistachio baklava. Well-priced at $7 an order and packed with flavor. Textures were great and visually appealing in the box. The baklava even had a little dropper of simple syrup tucked in, which prevented the baklava from getting soggy before it was served - genius idea! Our hats off to the head honcho for designing a great space with delicious food. While we were waiting for our to-go order of sweets, we noticed that customers kept coming in even though it was after 2pm and past the usual lunch rush. The food certainly looked like it was worth trying!

I went here after seeing a video of the desserts from here on instagram. It was my birthday and my son treated me to these desserts. I picked a variety of things for us to try, a Cannoli, lemon pistachio cheesecake,(I'm not even a big cheesecake fan but this was SO good) pineapple upside cake, strawberry crunch cake, Nutella banana cup, and pistachio cheesecake cup. The person helping us also let me try a piece of Turkish delight, it was so good with nice flavors and texture. I would love to visit again to try other things!

We really don't want to gate keep this hidden gem...we must share to the Yelp-World. Dessertchu has the viral Dubai Chocolate and they even have it as a cheesecake. All of their desserts and pastries are homemade. They have vegan desserts you wouldn't think would taste vegan...it's an absolute dream. The owner and her wife are superbly charming, thoughtful, and completely devoted to each and every customer that comes through the door. They are a Mediterranean Restaurant first and off to the side are their magical face melting desserts offering Turkish delights to their viral Dubai Chocolate. We also choose some amazing cheesecakes like biscoff and their mousse like mango and pistachio. The shop is esthetically beautiful and inviting, w/ warm bright colors and sizable windows that let the gorgeous light energizing the whole corner space. We will most definitely come back for their food and most importantly try again their exquisite desserts and sweets. Oh Turkish coffee is not for the faint of hearts...high octane that will keep you awake and energized for a few hours. We can't wait to go back and I have a feeling there will be a line out the door when we do... BUT business is good when you have great owners that run it! Thank you, Bedriye, you're the most gracious hostess!

It's in a corner of a very cute gourmet food hall and had a good selection of goods left in mid-afternoon on a weekday. Service is also friendly and prompt. I had to get the kouign amann because I always get one wherever I can, and also picked up a plain croissant, currant scone, and panna cotta. The KA was decent; I would call this one a diet KA because they only put the sugar on one side so it was more like a brulee'd croissant. I also have to admit that, while this shaping is very attractive, the direction of the lamination makes eating this feel like shards in my mouth. However, flavor was excellent. The plain croissant is very plain. It's decent but I've had better. The scone and panna cotta, however, were delightful. Both had lovely soft textures and wonderful creamy flavors. The scone held up for two days and wasn't even a bit stale when I finally had it for breakfast. Highly recommend this tucked-away bakery in the Castro Valley!

Seven Hills Baking Co was my first stop as I haven't had sourdough since childhood. I got their classic sourdough loaf. Even though it wasn't warm anymore it was still amazing. It was quite hard to cut into with a serrated bread knife, which I'm not sure whether that's normal or abnormal for gluten sourdough. However, the inside was lovely and soft. Nice strong sour flavor, spongy dough that was almost moist (not at all dry). I want to note on the gluten free front that seven hills baking co offers a few items which they advertise to be gluten free. Though the ingredients may be gluten free, the items are baked in the same kitchen, the same oven, and then put side by side with the gluten in the display case. Furthermore I don't believe their ingredients are all certified gluten free. Therefore I do not recommend seven hills baking co for anybody with celiac disease. Do not buy your friend with a gluten allergy or celiac these items. There is most certainly cross contact.
