I can't believe I haven't written a review for a business my kids and I frequent all the time! We've been coming to Always Yours since it opened. Hands down they have the best drinks, cookies, macarons, cakes, and now salt bread! I always come to get treats for my kid's teachers (for their birthdays, teacher appreciation week, just because, etc.). I've brought friends visiting the Bay Area to this bakery, which they have loved. Always Yours also has fun cup sleeve events, macaron classes and afternoon tea from time to time. We love supporting small businesses and this one is definitely worth supporting! 3.5 stars for their Salt Bread. Decided to stop by to try the viral salt bread that is all over social media. I've been to this location once for a Yelp event and loved their macaroons. It has the perfect consistency and texture, so it has been on the top of my list to stop by whenever I'm in the area. We stopped by on a Sunday at noon and there were only a few customers inside. It's small but cozy and clean. I wanted to try all of the flavors - regular, chili oil scallion, and corn cheese. The regular was the best out of the other two in my opinion since it was simple but the bread could have been crisper even though it was warmed up. The other two flavors were very oily and too heavy. Finally tried the salt bread in original and corn cheese flavors, both of which were equally excellent! The original had a Slight crunch on the outside, salty, yet sweet. Soo good!!!! Came across this bakery while in castro valley so we decided to try them out. We ordered banana and mango matcha as well as a creme brulee and strawberry cheesecake. The pastries were really good especially the creme brulee. Unfortunately the drinks were disappointing. The matcha itself was pre-made. I saw the server pouring the matcha from a pitcher. Matcha has to be freshly made every order but pouring from a pitcher was just disappointing. The drink was definitely not fresh even the fruit was not fresh. I've had matcha drinks for the same price and better quality. Definitely try their Baked goods but dont expect too much from their drinks menu atleast the matcha part. read more

Small bakery in a shopping center with barely any parking. It took us about 15 minutes to find a parking spot. Don't say that you weren't warned! Parking is VERY challenging given that there are a lot of stores/eateries in the area. I came here to check out a cupsleeve event that they were hosting. The bakery is small and the vendors were in a very tight space so it was a little hard to navigate around. No seats were available, so I stood for most of the time. I decided to try their macarons while I was there. Unfortunately they ran out of the BTS printed ones, but I was lucky to buy a couple character ones and a matcha rice crispy treat. My cousin was fortunate enough to score a couple BTS macarons, therefore she was able to show me how they came out. They didn't have a huge selection of desserts to choose from, however, they do have a wide selection of drinks, flavors similar to other boba places. The macarons were light, chewy and filling wasn't too sweet, which was the perfect balance. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the matcha rice crispy treat. I was really looking forward to trying their mango cheesecake or any other fruity cakes, but they sadly were unavailable when I visited. I would love to come back when I'm in the area again. I initially wanted to order my daughter's 16th birthday cake from here but with my recent phone interaction with them, I've decided not to. My daughter doesn't like regular cake but she does love Japanese cheesecake. I sent my oldest daughter here to purchase a couple slices to try a few weeks ago. She brought home the Ube and pumpkin cheesecakes and some pumpkin macarons. We really liked the Ube cheesecake so we decided to order that in a full sized cake. Fast forward to today, I give them a call to get more information on ordering. Mind you I did look at their website beforehand but had some additional questions. The person who answered the phone tried to answer my questions but then I was cold transferred to someone else who didn't want to be bothered by my questions. She had a rude tone and kept referring me back to the website. I asked her how long in advance I needed to place the order and she said 1-2 weeks even though their website said 5 days for cheesecakes. She got annoyed when I pointed that out and she responded in a rude tone that it must be old info. Don't get upset with me....I don't manage the website. Then I asked if it's too late since she is saying 1-2 weeks and she said (again in a rude tone) that it's still a week away and to submit the online form to see if they can make it. Then she said that there have been complaints that their online form doesn't work and if that happens to use the online contact link. I guess they don't like customers calling them over the phone - everything should be done online! Call me old school but I do like to pick up the phone and speak with a live person. I was super turned off by the entire conversation and thought okay, they don't want my business. I'll figure out something else. If you have a timeframe for orders, I would recommend giving a specific number of days (i.e. 10 business days). If you can't do it, it's fine. Just be direct. Don't make customers go online and submit a form that takes 2 business days for a response when we can just go on with our lives and make plans elsewhere. So sad because we really did enjoy their Ube cheesecake. Before I called, I was planning on stopping by since we'll be in the Bay so we can check out their other goodies but the impression I got was that they don't want my business. For our wedding, we had a highly custom request for a wedding cake (Maplestory themed!), so we consulted with Natalie before purchasing. She was extremely nice and accommodating, even outside of the bakery's business hours since we were super late. We taste tested and loved ALL the flavors, but ended up with matcha, ube, and vanilla. During the day of the wedding, Natalie and her team promptly delivered this beautiful 3 tiered custom themed cake. It was completely hassle free (I don't even know when she dropped it off on the hectic day), and exactly how we imagined it to be. The Matcha banana pudding is fire but my favorite is the Vietnamese coffee with the banana pudding OMG. That's a must. Not overly strong like most Vietnamese coffee, but still so good. I've also had the matcha pistachio but I don't recommend it, idk why I even wanted to try that but the matcha was still good. I used to frequent Always Yours for their unique desserts and quality matcha, but I was really disappointed by the customer service I received today. I ordered two matcha drinks from their kiosk: a banana pudding matcha and a matcha with Biscoff cream top. A few minutes later, I was told they were out of Biscoff cream and was asked if I wanted to substitute it with banana pudding instead. I asked for a regular matcha instead, and they said they would refund the extra charge. When my drinks were ready, I was surprised to receive a matcha with Biscoff cream anyway, along with what was clearly a pistachio cream matcha that I never ordered. I immediately let them know my order was incorrect, and they took it back to fix it. Unfortunately, when I tried the corrected drink, I could still taste pistachio bits in my banana pudding matcha. It seemed like their solution was simply adding banana pudding on top of the original pistachio cream, instead of remaking the drink I ordered properly. Really disappointing experience, especially from a place I previously enjoyed. Better attention to customer orders and quality control would go a long way. read more

This is a cute bakery in a compact plaza in near Redwood Road. When you enter the bakery, there are lots of eye-catching desserts. I came here on a Sunday afternoon to pick up my friend's pre-ordered birthday cake. While I was there, I ordered the banana matcha. The flavors balanced each other out and I really enjoyed it. Their Banana Pudding Matcha Latte is 5/5 - one of my favorites in the east bay!!! I'd gladly go back to get it. Regular sweetness was perfect, and the banana pudding blends with the matcha so well. As you drink, the banana gets a little soggy and you get little chunks as you sip. The creaminess of the drink and the banana flavor itself are also perfect - 10/10!!! The bakery itself is on the smaller side, but they do have little tables for working and a small outdoor seating area. We tried: Passion fruit green tea-delicious! Would get this again. The flavor and sweetness were on point! The tea is strong but complemented the fruity flavor. Lemon tart-loved it! Even after two days of it sitting in our fridge, it was still delicious. The crust was yummy and not too hard. The meringue was perfect. The lemon custard was tangy and sweet. I'd buy this again. Fruit tart: perfect! Can't remember the last time I had a fruit tart this good. We normally go to Whole Foods for a fruit tart but their crust is hard. This one was perfect! It tasted fresh and the crust was like the lemon tart, not too hard. Banana pudding-husband ate the whole thing! He said it was worth getting again. Oreo cream puff-husband devoured this. It was in our fridge for two days before he ate it but he said it was still good. Overall, the three items we ate/drank right away, were outstanding and the two items we ate two days later were also good. I never noticed this place in the heart of downtown Castro valley. Tucked away in the shopping center is this small bakery with amazing sweets. The lemon meringue tart which was amazing! I had a couple hours to spend in the area and wanted to stop by a cafe to get some work done. This cafe showed up near me on Yelp. It's a decorated cafe with a white/floral aesthetic interior. Cute dessert options featuring regular and character macarons and assorted cakes. They were out of the banana milk, so I ordered a strawberry milk half sweet. There is a good amount of strawberry purée in there, but I think half sweet is still a bit too sweet. It was nice and refreshing, and the overall atmosphere of the cafe was enjoyable. read more
