Japanese Soufflé (Slice) -- vanilla and ube!
    Jenirae H.

--- F O O D & D R I N K S --- Natalie, the owner, was originally my macaron and Japanese soufflé cheesecake go-to before she opened her shop! Was so glad that she was able to open up her own bakery/cafe to feature these and additional Asian-inspired desserts for the Bay Area to try! MACARONS. I've been a fan of these Macarons for years, and what first drew me in was their adorable themed designs for holidays and special occasions like Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. While their character macarons and classic rounds are super cute, what keeps me coming back is that they actually taste amazing. There's nothing worse than biting into a beautiful macaron only to find it's dry, but that's definitely not the case here. Their macarons are consistently moist, flavorful, and fresh, with the perfect texture every time. It's the best of both worlds--beautiful designs that are almost too cute to eat and quality that lives up to the hype! JAPANESE SOUFFLE CHEESECAKE. My first Japanese soufflé cheesecake experience was from a commercial chain, and while it was light and fluffy, it doesn't compare to Always Yours Bakery Cafe. Their cheesecakes are THIQ in the best way possible--rich, dense, creamy, and still have that perfect jiggle. My absolute favorite flavor is the Ube! Ever since discovering them, I'd much rather order a whole cheesecake from here than pick up a standard birthday cake from the grocery store. It's always a crowd-pleaser! DRINKS. I'm def a matcha gworrrrl so I had to try as many flavors as I could! They have pistachio, banana cream, strawberry, and creme brûlée. What really stole my heart was the Earl Grey Creme Brûlée Milk Tea! "Creamy earl grey tea with your choice of milk, topped with our housemade salted cheese cream, torched sugar, and creme brûlée pudding." It's def a unique combo I haven't came across any other milk tea shop yet til here, and given that it's a bakery, I figured their creme brûlée would be amazing--and it FASHO IS! I recommend it with oatmilk and less sweetness to help balance all the flavors. _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- The staff is always so friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they truly care about their customers and the quality of what they serve. And the turnaround is pretty quick! _______________________________________________________ --- A M B I A N C E -- The ambiance is just as charming as the desserts. When you first walk in, you're greeted by a display case filled with beautiful desserts, and I definitely recommend taking a look at the other treats on the menu besides the cheesecakes. There's even a claw machine filled with adorable boba plushies that adds a fun touch to the space. The dining area is small but thoughtfully designed, with marble-inspired walls, pops of greenery from the plants, and a purple neon sign that ties everything together. It has cozy, trendy café vibes and is the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a sweet treat. _______________________________________________________ Be sure to check out their page for events! They have macaron decorating, tea parties, pop-ups and more!

Finally tried the salt bread in original and corn cheese flavors, both of which were equally excellent! The original had a Slight crunch on the outside, salty, yet sweet. Soo good!!!! The corn cheese was creamy, just the right amount of filling. Sooo good as well!!!! Try the banana pudding matcha!!!! Sweet and creamy with bits of banana pieces every now and then makes for a perfect sip. What a combination!!!!

Came across this bakery while in castro valley so we decided to try them out. We ordered banana and mango matcha as well as a creme brulee and strawberry cheesecake. The pastries were really good especially the creme brulee. Unfortunately the drinks were disappointing. The matcha itself was pre-made. I saw the server pouring the matcha from a pitcher. Matcha has to be freshly made every order but pouring from a pitcher was just disappointing. The drink was definitely not fresh even the fruit was not fresh. I've had matcha drinks for the same price and better quality. Definitely try their Baked goods but dont expect too much from their drinks menu atleast the matcha part.

Small bakery in a shopping center with barely any parking. It took us about 15 minutes to find a parking spot. Don't say that you weren't warned! Parking is VERY challenging given that there are a lot of stores/eateries in the area. I came here to check out a cupsleeve event that they were hosting. The bakery is small and the vendors were in a very tight space so it was a little hard to navigate around. No seats were available, so I stood for most of the time. I decided to try their macarons while I was there. Unfortunately they ran out of the BTS printed ones, but I was lucky to buy a couple character ones and a matcha rice crispy treat. My cousin was fortunate enough to score a couple BTS macarons, therefore she was able to show me how they came out. They didn't have a huge selection of desserts to choose from, however, they do have a wide selection of drinks, flavors similar to other boba places. The macarons were light, chewy and filling wasn't too sweet, which was the perfect balance. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the matcha rice crispy treat. The matcha tasted overpowering and it fell apart. Aside from that, this bakery is worth another try. I do hope they have more goodies available next time around.

We had such a fun time at a special tea party at Always Yours Bakery. All the food was so good. The service was impeccable. The amount of food, pastries, was so generous. I highly recommend going for their tea. Leave extra time because parking is really difficult. It took us 15 minutes to find a parking space. Check out the video I made of the experience on YouTube. https://youtu.be/36oaSypPOXA?si=qGRa4Aa6uu4EXuOr

I'm not even joking when I say I'm a loyal fan and customer of Always Yours. We get our cakes (dog and human!), macarons, matcha lattes and small desserts from them always! See photos for my credentials haha. Natalie and her team are amazing at what they do! They have always exceeded my expectations for my custom orders as well as my family's. We would highly recommend them for any custom baked goods or even just a small snack and drink!

Jasmine Milk Tea Macaron ($3), Strawberry Matcha Latte ($7.50)

Lovely, little shop with a variety of baked goods and matcha using Marukyu Koyamaen! I was really looking forward to trying their mango cheesecake or any other fruity cakes, but they sadly were unavailable when I visited. I would love to come back when I'm in the area again. RECS: + Jasmine milk tea macaron ($3) tasted spot on! The macaron shell itself was softer than I'd like but still good, but the jasmine tea cream was the star of the show + Strawberry matcha latte ($7.50) had a pleasant flavor accompanied by the very fresh strawberries. The matcha was a little gritty but nothing unbearable. Less sweet was perfect for this

I am so astonished by how great their ube crinkle cookies and assam milk tea samples at the Yelp Elite Events. Natalie and Juna were awesome to meet and I can't wait to come try their other desserts. Support small women businesses!! Natalie and Juna are so welcoming and so passionate about their craft.

I initially wanted to order my daughter's 16th birthday cake from here but with my recent phone interaction with them, I've decided not to. My daughter doesn't like regular cake but she does love Japanese cheesecake. I sent my oldest daughter here to purchase a couple slices to try a few weeks ago. She brought home the Ube and pumpkin cheesecakes and some pumpkin macarons. We really liked the Ube cheesecake so we decided to order that in a full sized cake. Fast forward to today, I give them a call to get more information on ordering. Mind you I did look at their website beforehand but had some additional questions. The person who answered the phone tried to answer my questions but then I was cold transferred to someone else who didn't want to be bothered by my questions. She had a rude tone and kept referring me back to the website. I asked her how long in advance I needed to place the order and she said 1-2 weeks even though their website said 5 days for cheesecakes. She got annoyed when I pointed that out and she responded in a rude tone that it must be old info. Don't get upset with me....I don't manage the website. Then I asked if it's too late since she is saying 1-2 weeks and she said (again in a rude tone) that it's still a week away and to submit the online form to see if they can make it. Then she said that there have been complaints that their online form doesn't work and if that happens to use the online contact link. I guess they don't like customers calling them over the phone - everything should be done online! Call me old school but I do like to pick up the phone and speak with a live person. I was super turned off by the entire conversation and thought okay, they don't want my business. I'll figure out something else. If you have a timeframe for orders, I would recommend giving a specific number of days (i.e. 10 business days). If you can't do it, it's fine. Just be direct. Don't make customers go online and submit a form that takes 2 business days for a response when we can just go on with our lives and make plans elsewhere. So sad because we really did enjoy their Ube cheesecake. Before I called, I was planning on stopping by since we'll be in the Bay so we can check out their other goodies but the impression I got was that they don't want my business. Sorry, daughter...no cheesecake for you :(

Finally tried the viral banana pudding matcha latte! It met my expectations and was very yummy - you can still taste the banana flavor even with the solid matcha quality. I have a sweet tooth and ordered it with regular sweetness and thought it was perfect! My partner also tried the pistachio matcha latte with brown sugar boba and it was also super yummy! The earthy, nutty flavors complement each other so well. The staff also wrote a cute message on the lid hehe. Would definitely consider coming back to try more matcha flavors or grab a cute dessert! Seems like this would be a nice place to sit and snack as well - there's wifi, both indoor and outdoor seating, and cutesy decor!

"Treat Yo Self!" ...says the ad outside. ...and treat myself I did! Stopped by to satisfy those Sweet Tooth cravings when the Gods of Sugar called... based on the stellar Yelp ratings of course... ( * - ) Cute little cafe in the Castro Valley Shopping Center. Not a lot of seating inside, I think there is more seating outside. Bright and inviting decor, friendly staff and some brilliant desserts. There are a few discounts for Veterans and Yelp Check ins, so be sure to look physically around the store for promotions. I only say the signs after I already ordered. #SweetTooth: ~ Mango Japanese Souffle Cheesecake - 5/5 Exactly as described! A Souffle Cheesecake! Excellent texture; part Souffle and part Cheesecake! Typical Asian praise: Not too sweet! lol. Brilliant Mango flavor, very well balanced, not too strong, not too heavy either. signature drinks: ~ earl gray crème brûlée - 5/5 Wow! Honestly, I didn't expect this to be that good! While it is slightly on the sweeter side, it's absolutely brilliant! Good Earl Gray flavor with that rich custard base of crème brûlée mixed in with bits of caramelized sugar. DELISH!! Be sure to mix this your drink before digging into it, the flavors are in layers. The hype is real! 4.5 **** rounded up to 5 ***** for me. I'll be back when I'm in the area...

Their banana pudding matcha is addicting! They have blown up recently on social media from what I've seen so they tend to get busy, especially during weekends. Luckily, there is a touch pad kiosk where you can order drinks to speed up the process. If ordering pastries or other sweet treats, you will have to stand in line. Really cute place, a bit small but there's outdoor seating too!

For our wedding, we had a highly custom request for a wedding cake (Maplestory themed!), so we consulted with Natalie before purchasing. She was extremely nice and accommodating, even outside of the bakery's business hours since we were super late. We taste tested and loved ALL the flavors, but ended up with matcha, ube, and vanilla. During the day of the wedding, Natalie and her team promptly delivered this beautiful 3 tiered custom themed cake. It was completely hassle free (I don't even know when she dropped it off on the hectic day), and exactly how we imagined it to be. Additionally all the guests loved the design and especially the flavor, so we were definitely feeling a little proud for choosing for this place. Thank you Natalie for this amazing cake!!
