    Seafood Paella

Went after a show nearby. Luckily they could seat us at the bar. Happening place. After us there was a line at 7:15pm. We started with the fish apprised and spicy shrimp. Both were made well and very fresh. The went to the seafood payyaya which was super fresh seafood and a nice taste. Very quaint place busy so be prepared. Was a good meal and experience.

Very cute tapa place. Personally, I love a simple straightforward menu and this place was that. I came here specifically for the paella and they did not disappoint. There wasn't much of a wait on a weekday night at 6:30p.

First time visit. Service was relaxed but friendly. The pan con tomate was a generous portion and tasty. Croquetas de jamon were delicious and perfectly cooked. I had a glass of albariño which complemented the first courses perfectly. I opted for the gambas plancha next (on the specials menu) which were incredibly tasty but perhaps a little overcooked. I also tried the crispy pork belly which, despite being flavorful, were dry and not something I'd order again (perhaps I should have opted for the secreto iberico skewers on the specials menu). The tarta de santiago was nice but the aged port accompaniment was quite the treat. The restaurant itself was vibrant and not too loud. A nice, welcoming restaurant with friendly service, tasty tapas, and great beverages. Worth a visit and I look forward to coming back.

Delicious tapas! So many yummy things on the menu, it was hard to choose what to share between 3 women. The outside patio area allows dogs and is private and quiet. Great for a sunny day in SF. We got the seafood paella (a little dry but otherwise tasty), artichoke flower (light and flavorful with a great topper), the veggie empanadas (AMAZING, would 100% get again), and a sushi special (fish was perfectly cut and seasoned- was so fresh! And it came with home made potato chips which were a hit). The sangria wasn't too sweet and the espresso martini was strong with no dairy!

We were celebrating a birthday as well as watching one of the FIFA games. The back was already reserved but the bar was just as cozy. We went during happy hour when it wasn't as busy and it didn't take too long for our food to come out. My party pretty much tried all the tapas on the HH menu and everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the nectarine arugula salad as well as the grilled panini for HH. The flavors were wonderful and our birthday girl had a great time. All the servers/staff were very accommodating and kind. The entire restaurant, including other customers, sang to my friend. Very lovely vibes inside.

This place is a fantastic spot for a night out. They have a cozy patio in the back with a giant heat lamp that makes it feel like a sauna - but no complaints here. I always like cozy warm late night dinner place. We started our meal with a pitcher of sangria. It was so easy to drink that we almost finished it before our first dish arrived. Our first dish was croquettas. They were stuffed with Serrano ham and mushrooms and were made with a delicious, non-greasy batter. They were absolutely delicious and deserved a perfect score of 5/5. Next, we ordered seafood paella. The shellfish were overcooked and chewy, which was disappointing. The rice was good, and the crusty bottom was a nice touch, but overall, it was just okay. We gave it a score of 3/5. My friend's favorite dish was patatas bravas, so we had to get it. I'm not a fan of this dish, but we always have to get it just because. It was okay, but nothing special. We gave it a score of 4/5. The pork cheeks were the highlight of our meal. They were perfectly braised in red wine and served on a bed of mashed potatoes. I could have eaten this dish all by itself and been completely satisfied 5/5. The grilled octopus was also really good. It was cooked well and seasoned perfectly 5/5 As a way to feel better about our indulgent meal, we ordered a warm vegetable salad. It was good, but nothing to write home about. 4/5 The final course was flan, which came with a vanilla custard-like cream. It was sweet and savory and was absolutely delicious. I had to admit that I ate most of it. It was really good! Yum 5/5 Service was great. Didn't feel rushed at all even though we had a three hour dinner. Time flies when you are with good company.

Made reservations for a party if 5 AM n a Tuesday evening during the holiday and we were the second party there at 6PM. There was only one other party and made me wonder if the restaurant is really popular dinner spot or not!! We ordered quite the variety of food as we wanted to gauge the quality compared to what their tapas restaurants. Our order included the Patatas Bravas, squid ink paella, ox tail paella (special), octopus, shrimp, artichoke leaves, fried eggplant, and omelette along with a charcuterie board. The entrees were delicious. The ox tail paella was a major hit with the softest meat! Octopus was super soft, the fried eggplant was such a unique yet simple dish with such wonderful flavor! The omelet and Patatas were just ok for me personally. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We also opted for the almond cake and churros to share for dessert. Must admit the churros were the best with the chocolate dipping sauce. I could pass on the almond cake/tart! By the time we left, the place was packed with few people waiting! A great sign specially for the weeknight.

Came for a friend's birthday and we had the tasting menu for 10 people. The inside was small and very cozy. The food was delicious! There was a huge assortment of tapas and it was just the right amount to try everything but also be very full! The staff was SOOOOO KIND! They gave us a free pitcher for my friend's birthday AND they let my friend take home the pitcher container! The overall experience was 10/10 and I would recommend to anyone wanting tapas!

We went here for my friend's bday, and it was a great experience! We did the tasting menu which was $50 per person. We were a party of 10, and we sat inside. It was a very special and intimate place. AMAZING vibes. We got our food pretty fast and all at once. The paella was last, and it was a lot. We had leftovers. The paella was so good. I had to take it home. They gave us a cheesecake with a candle on it, and the whole restaurant sang to her! Shoutout to the owner for being so awesome!!

Delicious Spanish spot. The paella was fragrant with saffron, layered with tender seafood and perfectly cooked rice. Flaky, golden crust with a perfect crunch, and fillings that are hearty and flavorful. From classic beef to cheesy veggie, each empanada was comforting and satisfying. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, perfect for sharing plates with friends over a glass of Sangria. Service was attentive without being rushed, letting you linger like you would in Spain. Beautiful and spacious outdoor back patio. Plenty of street parkings.

Great food, great service! My favorite tapas were the fried eggplant, tuna tartar, and patatas bravas. Happy hour drink specials were also quite generous. I would recommend this spot if you are looking for a casual, reasonably priced tapas experience.

We had a great time! Great food, great service! They move very slowly here and will not rush you... Corkage fee ($25) waived with purchase of a house bottle of wine, we had the Ribera duero tempranillo - excellent. My favorite items were the pork dishes. Great experience and ambiance!

Destapas is such a warm and inviting spot! I really loved the squid dish -- tender, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The sangria was also excellent, refreshing and not overly sweet, which paired perfectly with the food. I do wish the patatas bravas was more crispy and seasoned, but overall still pretty good. Our server Luis, from Madrid, made the night even better with his kindness and welcoming personality. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, making it a great place to relax over tapas. This is a spot I'd happily return to and recommend to friends for great food, atmosphere and drinks.

You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

The energy is vibrant without feeling overwhelming, and the noise level is just right. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood. I'd love to come back and wander around, explore more, and discover what else this part of the city has to offer.
