One of my favorite happy hours in the city, and definitely the best oyster happy hour in the city. Happy hour available every day they're open from 3-5pm. $1.50 oysters specifically from 4-5pm. HH option for sparkling, white, and red wine at $11. The options change out regularly so you can always try a different glass when you visit. Opted for a sparkling rose that was very refreshing on a warm day. - truffle fries - served with white truffle aioli and topped with real shaved summer black truffles. A default item I always order - fried chicken sliders - a newer addition to the HH menu since I last visited. Served with three sliders. Chicken is cooked exceptionally well. - oysters - royal miyagi from British Columbia - absolutely delicious and wlel shucked with no shell bits. These oysters have a plumpier bite to them so there is a bit of texture, and features a slightly sweeter flavor

Very great experience. Beautiful bar. Me and my fiance sat at the end of the bar to enjoy the wonderful happy hour. Had dozen oysters, chicken liver pate, bread and butter, and deviled eggs. I actually really loved that bread and butter, but that chicken liver pate was amazing as well. The deviled egg is a miss for me. Oysters, I always love oysters and I think this place has a great happy hour deal for their oysters that you have to take advantage of. Can't wait to eat more!!!!

This is such a great spot to kick off the evening. Super cozy and cute setting. I love that happy hour starts at 3 PM--most places don't begin until 5 PM. We came for the happy hour oysters (4-5 PM), and they were fresh, chilled, and absolutely worth it. Pair them with a glass of wine, and it's the perfect combo. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the wine list, making the experience even more enjoyable without ever feeling rushed. One thing to keep in mind is parking. It can be tough around the Embarcadero/4th Street area. If you don't want the hassle, Uber or Lyft is definitely the easiest option. Great wine, fresh oysters, excellent service, and one of the earliest happy hours in the city. I'll definitely be back!

At last, we managed to swing by Saison Cellar for the 4-5pm $1.50 Royal Miyagi oyster happy hour, and it did not disappoint. The oysters were so incredibly tasty and fresh, and gone so soon. :' ) You can order 24 at a time, and you're likely able to get through 48 if you arrive right at 4 lol. We also ordered the sparkling rose and the white wine from the happy hour menu. The sparkling rose was tart and balanced, which I preferred a tad more than the more muted white wine. The truffle fries were amazing -- we kept wondering if that was real truffle on top because the price was so good. These paired super well with the freshness and brininess of the oysters. Would easily come back for more oysters. We made a res, but it seemed possible to do a walk-in if you have a small party.

An absolute high quality gem--not just happy hour but just about everything on the menu we tried (truffle fries, a bottle of orange wine, chicken liver mousse). Everyone was really incredibly kind. The gentleman with the wino shirt was ON it. Never had a moment where I didn't have a beverage available. My friend sent me this spot weeks ago and we made a reservation on OpenTable, got too busy but so glad we went in feeling good Saturday for HH. Decor was great, dark interior, taxidermy vibes lol but tasteful color / aesthetic. Food was to the 9, actually flavor without just being salty or sweet. Not a singular taste profile but subtle and flavorful at the time same. Oysters btw... wow I had to make my half dozen order a dozen. Try them!!!

There are few things I love more than a quaint and cozy wine bar, so when I had a chance to finally try Saison, I was totally excited. Arrived on time for our 7:30pm reservation and surprisingly it wasn't jam packed. The few times I had try to get a seat here, its been super busy. Pro tip: definitely grab a reservation to be safe! During those busy times, they even require a reservation to sit at the bar. Got started with a great glass of wine to start an I was totally blown away, I knew I was in the perfect place! The rest of the evening and other glasses of wine I tasted were incredible too. The wine list is vast and expansive, so they definitely have something for everyone. Food was incredible too! We had a great hodge podge of things to try! Started off with the delicious steak tartare and garden salad. Both so delicious, but man oh man that steak tartare was out if this world. It was paired with some light and and airy rice chips. So lovely and really allowed you to enjoy all the flavors in the tartare. I also allowed our server, shane to choose some cheeses for us. He made some incredible choices for us to enjoy. These were accompanied with some bread, dip and spreads. Absolutely fantastic. To finish things off, I had a terrific glass of port because, I can't leave a wine bar without having one. Totally great experience at Saison wine! Vibes were so wonderful, Shane, our server was fantastic, and I am looking forward to spending more time here in the future!

I went here on 7/13/26 with a friend and the service was HORRIBLE. All I did was ask a question about the mushroom croques but instead of answering he put in the order without confirming if I wanted it or not. I noticed he was doing that with everyone at the bar. We were also charged a 18% gratity. I food looked good when it came out but was gross. We ended up going to get pizza. The truffle fries were ok too crispy for my loving. The ambiance was nice.

Girlfriend and i went out for dinner and a show. Saison had a good selection of wine. HH had a short list of snacks and wine, oysters were very reasonable. The steak tartare was delicious and frisée salad was amazing - prob cuz the bacon was fried perfectly. Service was friendly and atmosphere was nice. Parking was ok, had plenty a block or two away. Total came to about $140/persom incl tax and tip. Lots of folks there for date night. Very cute! Will return.

I came here on a Tuesday night and it's popping! Even though it's a wine bar, their tapas were amazing! I really enjoyed the charcuterie board however the bread was a little tough. The truffle fries were delicious but the highlight for me was definitely the caviar parfait. The layers were so well sized and the flavors were perfect! However, I wish the food came out more timely and some of the staff were a little standoff so my experience was not as great as I hoped but will definitely come back for the wine and food!

This is probably one of the best places for HH. Everything was very high quality and wasn't too expensive. The space is very intimate but didn't feel crowded. You can tell the servers there care about the place. I tried all 3 wines on their HH and none of them disappointed. The ham croque was surprising I thought it was be too cheesy but it was very well balanced. I also thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie, the bread was crispy yet soft and all their cheeses were A+. And then there were oysters. We had 60 of them....they're only $1.50 each we had to! And they were the freshest HH oysters I've ever had!

THE BIG: Located near the ballpark area of San Francisco. Very rustic and homey inside the wine bar. Only indoor seating and must get a reservation. Walk-ins available if reservations lapses past 15 minutes. Street parking available but hard to find. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here to see an old friend from DC. He recommended this spot and it was a great time. Very rustic inside and apparently it's the wine bar to the two michelin starred restaurant next door. For food and drink, we got the HH truffle fries , glass of blanches fleurs 2019, HH oysters, HH sparkling prosecco. The HH prices are great here. Truffle fries were nice and thin with a good helping of parmesan truffle shredded cheese on top. Oysters was the big deal of the day with each oyster costing $1.50 on HH. Service was nice and attentive. Very kind to accomodate my wife who was 7 months pregnant. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall we spent around $88 for everything, which was great for a nice happy hour spot with great wines.

We are huge fans of Saison so the wine bar has been on our list to check out but we never seemed to be able to get reservations until recently. It's a pretty small space, which explains the difficulties securing a reservation. I had assumed they would have bar seating that was first come first served, but I overhead the hostess taking guests with a reservation to the bar, so I'm not sure if walk-ins would be very successful here - probably best to call in advance! We started with the truffle fries. These are thin and crispy with real black truffle shavings, whereas most places are using truffle-scented oil that contains no actual truffles, so a very pleasant surprise! The aioli was also really tasty. Next we had the Lyonnaise salad, which was perfectly dressed. There were plenty of lardons and the croutons were nice and crunchy. It was great alternating between the salads, which had an acidic dressing, and the fries, which were super rich. We also ordered the steak tartare, but mysteriously it took well over an hour to get to us. I had to check with the server once to make sure it was still on its way. Despite the lengthy wait, it was really delicious and well worth the wait. With the closure of Monsieur Benjamin, this is now easily my favorite steak tartare in the city. Highly recommended! We also ordered a half bottle of the 2022 Huet Le Mont Sec ($63). I didn't realize until later when I was looking at pictures that they actually brought us the wrong wine. I recognized the producer's label and confirmed the vintage but did not confirm the bottling. In addition, the wine actually came out to us already open, which is very strange. I realize mistakes like this can happen but did not expect it from a Saison Hospitality establishment, since the wine programs are typically highly regarded. Other than the timing with the tartare and the wine mixup, which I honestly should have caught, everything else was great. The reason for the 4 star review is the pricing on BTG and the bottle list, which is exorbitant - I know the hospitality group has Michelin-starred restaurants, but this wine bar is not one of them, yet the wine list is priced like one (current release bottlings were easily 3x wholesale if not more). Want something below $100 for a 750ml? Good luck - options are few and far between. So would I come back? Yes - for the steak tartare and other menu items we didn't get a chance to try. But sadly, this isn't going to be a place where I come to pop bottles. It's just too expensive and I'm happy to give up some ambiance for a more affordable option like the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant or Arlequin in the Hayes where you can drink for a tiny corkage fee above very reasonable retail pricing.

I admit we came here to utilize the Chase Sapphire Reserve open table benefit and I'm glad we tried this place out! Indy was a friendly waiter and really knowledgeable about the different wines. For 2, we had the following on a Friday reservation at 6:30pm: - Nino Negri - red wine. Seemed like a light version of a Pinot noir. It was delicious 5/5 - 6 miyagi oysters. So fresh and flavorful. 5/5 - truffle fries - probably the best truffle fries I've ever had. Fresh shaved truffles on the fries 6/5? - steak Tar tar with rice crisps - 3/5. I personally don't like tar tar, but the presentation was nice - Sandwiches are loaded with cheese on top and in the bread. If you don't like cheese, you won't like the sandwiches. Nice portions and garden salad and pickled vegetables are a nice touch. Ham croque sandwich 4/5. mushroom croque sandwich 5/5 Low key wine bar with bar seating and a few tables. Most couples had to sit at the bar with larger parties at the tables. Definitely make reservations since it was packed when we left around 7:30. Also, there's multiple Saisons on the street (resto, private club, and wine bar). Make sure you google the right location!

While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. We stopped in over Labor Day weekend and I was actually surprised by how quiet it was, which made it a nice place to sit and enjoy a glass without feeling crowded or rushed. Where they lost me was the wine pricing. The by-the-glass prices are pretty steep, with most around $16-$20 and Champagne at $25. I'm completely fine paying more at a wine bar for the atmosphere, service, and experience, but knowing what some of these bottles actually retail for, the markup felt excessive for what was being poured. They do offer a full food menu and some of it sounds interesting, but I wasn't impressed enough with the wine experience or value to want to stay and try the food, so I can't speak to that.
