After completing a CPR training for my company, which ended sooner than I thought, I reached to a buddy in the area. I asked him if he wanted to grab a late lunch. Fortunately, he said yes. He suggested Starbelly. I hadn't eat there in several years and was glad to see they were still in business and still doing well. We both when with the chicken sandwich & fries. Man, was it good! The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. Like Ric Flair would shout, WOOOH!!!! We complemented the sandwiches with beers. Of course we did. Everything was great, including the service. Here are your pics.

Waiter was friendly, food was great, a little pricey but it was good! We got the deviled eggs, chilaquiles? and the fried chicken sandwich! Everything was pretty solid, the fries that came with the sandwich were a little stale or something and could be a little crispier. The ambience in the restaurant is lovely and they have a back patio that is even better! Very lively for a Sunday brunch. We also ordered a mocktail, I forgot what it was called but it came in a cute little bear cup! Would come back again for lunch or dinner! (Different menu)

This is one of the most unique pieces I ate lunch at. The tuna melt was out of the world delicious. The service was very friendly and very attentive to my desires. The ambiance of the place was excellent as well. I recommend this place to go have lunch at if you're in San Francisco. I give them 5 stars

Starbelly you are truly solid and they could never make me hate you! The Thai style mussels were fantastic and that sauce was so lemongrassy and delicious. I will say what's up with the bread portion...? we ordered extra too and that's what you see in the photo lol. I assume it normally just comes with one piece. Their salads are refreshing and I love their patio on a sunny, warm day.

I think the brief on this place is it's good but your experience will vary depending on when you are there and where you sit. There's a dining area off back and they looked like they were having a blast. We were upfront at a high top. There was some kitchen noise there and the bartender waited on us. Some mix up on food. Food was well presented and a B+. Chia pudding with onion flavored granola was a little out there.

I found out about this place atvone of the Yelp Elite event and decided to bring my friends here. Great place for a dinner gathering with friends. They have outdoor patio in the back if you prefer the outdoor vibe. Everything tasted delicious. Just wish the salad size was bigger. This was the biggest size that we could get. The bear cup alcohol is just like the Starbucks bear cup. It's so cute so we couldn't say no to it. The drink itself was good so it wasn't just a drink for picture.

Solid new American food. Made a reservation for a Friday night and this place was packed. It's very cute inside, albeit a bit tight on space. The Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious, we got two orders for the table. Also loved the chicken pate, accompanying bread was yummy too. Salmon entree was good, but quite small for the price. Not sure if I was starving but I feel like in general the portions were small. Street parking was a pain, as expected. Service was really slow unfortunately. It was a decent meal, but nothing stood out. Not sure if I would return, but glad I gave it a try.

top to bottom: signature chicken liver pate, pan roasted black mussels, rigatoni

Tldr: Pricey but good food and moody ambiance. Good for dinner dates. My friend and I had dinner here a few weeks ago. The food was amazing! The chicken liver pate was extremely buttery and was the star of the dinner. It was served with an onion jam (sweet), a dijon mustard, and toasted bread. It's a very agreeable pate as the chicken liver flavor wasn't that strong. The mussels were spicy and citrusy which helped cut through the fattier entrees we ordered. The rigatoni was definitely the "worst" of the three. While it tasted good, it wasn't particularly interesting and the portion size felt small. The people serving us were also very attentive and were very knowledgeable about each of the dishes. (I didn't know the jam was an onion jam till our waiter told us!)

Went here for dinner the other day with a few friends, and we had the most lovely experience. First off, our servers were super friendly and attentive to all our needs. We ordered quite the spread: the butternut squash soup, deviled eggs, brussels sprout pizza, roasted salmon, pork chop, and the mussels. Everything was so delicious. But the standouts were definitely the mussels and the brussel sprout pizza! The flavors were impeccable! Oh, we also got dessert. We got the blueberry, brown butter, cornbread, and the cheesecake Panna cotta. They were both so delicious but honestly, you need to order the brown butter cornbread. It was so so good. I need to go back just for that! The overall vibe in this place is super cute and cozy. They have an outdoor patio with a ton of plants.

Came in with three coupons for free drinks / appetizers from art hop and yelp events and they honored them all which was nice! The cocktails and burrata pizza were the highlights for me (even though I ordered the salmon as my main, it wasn't super special). The menu is quite limited but is seasonal so maybe there are more options other times. My absolute favorite was actually the cornbread dessert -- it is to die for seriously! The corners were just ever so crispy and the butter was edible on its own. The patio vibes were also pretty good -- sit outside if you can!

Starbelly was just OK for us. Da Wahini and I were in the area and decide to pay a visit to Starbelly based on the reviews and the fact we had Starbelly bookmarked for a while. Good size venue with a small amount of outdoor seating in the front and additional outside seating in the back covered by a large tent. The inside is more of a bar. Parking...good luck with that. Popular neighborhood with street parking available. The menu here is seasonal, so it changes on a regular basis. I forgot the name of our server, but nice guy. The service was very good. The staff were on top of everything. #StarbellyGrindz: COCKTAILS: ~ SALTY DOG - 4/5 Strong and solid cocktail. All the flavors worked well. I could taste the Elderflower and Grapefruit ~ BEARS, BEARS, BEARS! - 3.5/5 Our server said this was the best drink on the menu, I can't say I agree with that statement. To each their own. Brilliant presentation, possibly just not a fond flavor profile of mine... even though I'm a big Earl Grey fan. This just didn't work for me PLATES: ~ rigatoni - 3.5/5 I thought the rigatoni was OK, slightly better than average, but nothing to rave about. I had a hard time identifying the protein as Lamb. Portion was on the smaller size, not all that filling. ~ ground chuck beef burger - 3.5/5 w/ starbelly salad - 4.5/5 While the Burger was decent, it wasn't all that special. Nothing stood out about it and it was tiny! almost like a bigger slider... The salad was very good. Once is enough for me. I don't need to return; I wasn't a fan of the portion sizes and didn't think the food was outstanding.

Great spot in the Castro with a patio option. I've been here a few times and each experience has been nice. They've first time I went was during a SF restaurant week. This last time I went was during a brunch- They've got some nice options on the menu with fair pricing and great drink selection. Giving some comfort food vibes. The inside has a lot of seating and a bar. The staff are very welcoming and give great service. The patio out back is also heated for those cooler nights.

Came for lunch with a big group, it was nice to be able to make a reservation for such a large group. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I really enjoyed the chilaquiles and the interior was very nice with a pretty outdoor patio. It can get pretty loud inside, so at times it was harder to hear but overall would come back again!

There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

This is the second place on this visit that's charging an extra 5% fee so that their employees can have a living wage and health insurance, which absolutely, every employee should have. With the prices they charge, they should already be able to do that, though. I read an article about this fee with many different names and I would rather pay a bit higher of a price and know the employees were taken care of than be surprised by this fee later. Two sandwich breakfasts, a mocha and a danish on top of tax and their healthy sf fee was $63. Steep for the quality we got. Won't be back.

They play Cuban music that immediately gets everyone in the mood, and you can tell it's a spot people genuinely love coming back to. Heads up though: it's a small space, so it can get pretty packed. Only downside was the drink service was slow, especially with how busy it gets. We were patient because the drinks themselves were great once they arrived; well worth the wait, just budget extra time if you're in a group. Perfect spot for a celebration with friends if you don't mind a cozy, lively crowd and don't need drinks in a hurry. We had such a great night!

My family and I recently visited Cavaña in SF on Sunday 6/21 at 5:30pm, expecting to enjoy what we…read moreunderstood to be a rooftop restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot before we even made it upstairs. When we arrived, the doorman, a tall, heavyset gentleman, was eating and did not acknowledge us as we approached. I politely asked if the restaurant was open, and instead of simply answering the question, he responded that it wasn't a restaurant but a rooftop bar, adding, "I don't know where you got that misconception." I found the comment unnecessarily dismissive and somewhat condescending. As an educated woman visiting with my husband and our minor daughter, I felt there were more professional ways to clarify the venue's concept. Rather than engage further, I chose to ignore the remark. He then pointed us toward the line, despite there being no one else waiting, and pressed the elevator button with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing him simply by being there. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this interaction left us feeling unwelcome before we even had the opportunity to experience the venue itself. Hospitality begins at the door, and I hope management provides additional customer service training to ensure future guests are greeted with courtesy and respect.

I went in before the game the place was somewhat Vibing they had a balcony, fireplace, different seating areas and a bar, and they serve food. It wasn't that busy so the bartender came right over. I think his name was Dominic and he got me an IPA. The first time I went I also tried the deviled eggs (3) and they were cool. I have to say my buddies tried the chips and salsa so it came with some guac salsa and a bowl of chips. It was pretty good too. a , but after the game we came back in the place was still a vibe. It was cool and we are went back a few days later for another game with another buddy and sure enough it was cool this time I had a margarita and the expert Cadillac and he floated something like some triple sec in it and when we inquired about the Grand Marnier with him, he got a little attitude although the female bartender said that when she made Cadillac margaritas, she used grandma Marnie, so that was interesting but other than that, I would recommend a spot.

My martini ($13) was really good, I especially loved the olives they use here. I like the lounge style seating, there were couches, nooks, and chairs arranged in a very comfortable fashion. There were a decent amount of people inside for a Thursday night, mostly small groups of friends or people on dates. It's a really nice atmosphere, very relaxed and inviting to hangout in. Everyone in the bar was weirdly attractive and dressed well for San Francisco and that added to the vibes for sure too lol. Friendly bartender and good cocktail menu, they also have a kitchen for small bites. I am definitely coming back!

After a park day at the Presidio, we wanted to move the party and we decided on Bar Darling. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed. Luckily we were able to get some space in the alley way for us to order drinks from our server. We've been on a Friday around 5pm on another day, it wasn't as busy, so definitely a great place to start and maybe end the night. In a time where craft cocktails have gotten really expensive, Bar Darling offers craft cocktails (their signature cocktails) all for $14 each. If you know Peacekeeper, you know there's a lot of thought and imagination that goes into their drinks and it definitely shows here. My favorites were the Mama J (tequila based) and the Jaji (mezcal based). The aesthetic and vibes of this place is 10/10. Definitely great for a group of friends and/or date night!

Drinks had almost a "watered down" flavor to them, not sure if the bartender was just having an off night or if they got too busy to maintain standards or what happened, but it wasn't a good beverage and certainly not worth the price. Even at 7pm it was packed and could definitely tell people had been there for awhile as there were multiple 20 something year old guys and gals stumbling around, so I guess they found the drinks to their liking (or more likely had so many they really couldn't ascertain the difference). Better drinks and better crowd control and Darling will be just fine. But as I mentioned, they were already packed stem to stern at 7pm so my guess is they're doing just fine already.
