While good, heavy bacon fat flavor. Not for me.

This was an excellent experience, I'll start there. The service was absolutely perfect. The best anyone could possibly ask for. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you could ever want. The restaurant is quiet, nicely laid out and the decor screams classic Brooklyn. I started with the sweet and spicy bacon appetizer and it was excellent. Nice little bit of back end heat, great pork belly and sweet with a slight crust. For dinner I have an absolutely perfect 12oz filet, with their house made shallot steak sauce which was incredible. Paired with a sidecar which again, flawless bar, and a special side of bacon Brussel sprouts. I finished with tiramisu. The only reason I can't give 5 stars was one, the room was freezing cold, the sprouts while well cooked just tasted like bacon fat and for the price, it's just gotta be perfect to get 5 stars from me at this level. Still, better than Peter Lugers in my opinion and I'd be back for sure for the tiramisu alone.

Met up here for a birthday celebration. Service and food were great! You need to find parking on the street FYI

DeStefano's steakhouse provides quality food with quality service. This steakhouse is dimly lit but sets a nice tone to the place. And while it doesn't present itself on the outside or inside like an upscale steakhouse, the quality of everything is that of one. Our waitress was attentive and friendly the entire evening. We started with the short rib rolls and the Caesar salad. The short rib rolls were full of delicious short rib and stuffed with mashed potatoes making the most decadent appetizer. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had. The salad was perfectly dressed and so crispy. The croutons were also crunchy. I couldn't get enough! The ribeye steak was perfectly seasoned and was on the fattier side but it is a ribeye! I loved every bite and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. It paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and the special of brussel sprouts. I did think the brussel sprouts were a little softer than I'd like as I prefer them a little crispy but they were so good cooked with bacon! Overall, I really enjoyed it here and would love to come back!

For my Mother's Day I was craving a nice hearty steak with my small companion in amazing ambiance ! I searched on Yelp. I saw a couple of steakhouses in Brooklyn on Yelp but they were all booked. I made a reservation for 630.As soon as we entered, we were greeted with such a warm and positive welcome by Mr. Destafano ! He sat us at a table showed us all the nice pictures from the neighborhood, fellows and friends, and also actors that grew up in the area. He Got a highchair for my small companion and as soon as we were seated, we got bread and butter, as well as a bacon covered date with walnuts. It was a nice treat.. I ordered a Negroni while browsing the menu. I really want to try a ribeye or porterhouse, but I knew I couldn't eat it all so I opted for an 8 ounce filet mignon which was absolutely delicious. Cooked medium rare melted in my mouth seasoned perfectly. Mr. Destefano asked if I wanted my steak sliced, which I appreciated. because the waiter didn't ask me that, I got the cream style corn, which was delicious and garlic mashed potatoes. Overall the service everyone was very attentive, kind & accommodating, you feel like you're going to your Italian uncles house for a steak dinner so I'll be back Uncle Destefano. I need to try my ribeye or porterhouse steak next.!

I came here to celebrate Thanksgiving last year after searching for spots that would be open on the holiday. On arrival, we decided to sit at the bar and got some drink recommendations from the lovely bartender- I forgot her name! There was a Thanksgiving menu but we decided to go with some steaks and side dishes. Everything was amazing- I absolutely love the creamed corn. I wish I lived closer by so I could eat here more often. The service and quality of the food/drinks is amazing and the space is very cozy. I would recommend DeStefano's for a date night or even for a delicious warm up to a night out in the area.

DeStefano's is by far the best steakhouse in Brooklyn -- most certainly one of the absolute best in NYC. The vibe is wonderful--warm, cozy, neighborhood feels. The restaurant is so welcoming and the walls covered with photos of personalities who have come through the doors. The service is magnificent. Our server was absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, personable, and took care of us so very well. Joe, the owner, is kind, welcoming and walked through the restaurant a few times, to each table, to assure everyone was pleased. Then there is the food. The care that goes into the food is so obvious. From preparation to presentation to taste, the food is absolutely incredible. We started with the Bacon. So flavorful and juicy. Then, we had the 12oz filet mignon. I've never seen a 12oz version in other steakhouses We also had the 24oz Ribeye. Both were perfect. The garlic mashed potatoes, and special Brussel sprouts were wonderful. The creamed spinach was my absolute favorite side. We ended with the mousse cake and it was simply perfect. DeStefano's is no joke. The vibe, food, and service will have you wanting to come back again and again.

DeStafano's Steakhouse is such a gem of a steakhouse. Eating here feels like eating at gramdma's cottage with a such cozy dinning room. Service is very warm and welcoming and even more so with my toddler dinning with us which is not always the case at many other steakhouses. Favorites here are the sweet and spicy bacon (must try), brussel sprouts, and the infamous porterhouse for two. The bacon provide such a balance of flavors which complimented this flavorful cut of meat. The brussel sprouts were seasoned perfectly with the sweet taste of aged balsamic vinegar. Lastly the porterhouse was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a great sear. Overall, I highly recommend DeStefano's if you are looking for a steakhouse in the Brooklyn area.

I like a more seasoned steak but the food was good. Garlic mashed potatoes were great as well. We enjoyed the winter lemon drop and the espresso martini's Would definitely return.

This place had such a cozy dining area. The staff was very friendly. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu. We started with a few appetizers. The French onion soup was so cheesy and hot. The sweet and spicy bacon was grilled and had a kick to it. The crabcakes were creamy and baked two perfection. They literally melted it in your mouth. The cream corn was very creamy and baked, which gave it a crispy top layer of Parmesan. The steak was so flavorful and it was the perfect amount for two people the butter juice that it was soaked in was simply amazing. It was so flavorful it didn't need any sauces.

Went there last night. I had a good meal ordered the rib steak with the bone for 24 ounces. Was delicious , but was smaller than I thought it would be. Would not recommend splitting it. Everything was first rate , including service.

Went for the steak, left knowing that if I ever returned it would be for that glorious pork chop It's dark, it's old school, it's straight forward, the steak wasn't what I thought it would be l, and the porkchop was absolutely next level!

"Pork chop is incredible. Clover club and the NY sour were amazing. Wedge salad is underrated" I decided to head back and give DeStefano's another go. We came in on a Tuesday early in the night. It was nice for a quiet dinner. Our server had amazing recommendations and paid attention to the details. There wasn't a single second where we were waiting for him to come back around. For starters, we got the short rib rolls, which were something unique. They were each filled with a generous portion of meat. They came with a horseradish sauce, that was SO good. The wedge salad was served on a chilled plate and was seriously so good. You like Wedge salads, definitely try this one. For entrees, we got chicken cordon bleu and the pork chop. The pork chop was SO MOIST. Like criminally moist. It was the star of the show. The chicken was good, and a big portion. We got a small creamed corn for our side. The small is a good option for two people. We easily finished it. So cheesy. Our cocktails were both recommended by our server and he wasn't wrong. Clover club was fresh, a perfect summer cocktail. The Sour had red wine and bourbon, and they paired so well?? I would have never guessed. We also had to try espresso martinis for dessert. Perfect closer to a big dinner.

    Where can you park?

Unfortunately, DeStefanos does not have a parking lot or valet parking. Street parking is available and DeStefanos is conveniently located one block from the L train if you choose not to drive

I heard your location had changed. Where is the new spot in relation to the previous? I was last there in 2019, but am long overdue for a visit.

It's on Lorimer Street. I've walked past it a million times without taking note. When we went for an early dinner with our itty bitty grandson, it. Was great!. The food and service were exceptional. If they were some location before, let's hope they…

    Are you byob?

You can definitely bring your own bottle. Corkage fee is in line with other high-end steakhouses. Recommended if you're bringing in a quality wine, if the bottle isn't worth at least $100 retail, skip BYOB and choose from their wine options.

How's this location for a bday celebration?

I think they have a back room if it's a larger size group

How is the parking situation like around this restaurant?

Park under the BQE off of Lorimer and its about a 5 in walk!

The service was really lovely. Constantly checking in for more water or if we needed anything. We started off with their Mezcal cocktail, which my husband loved. And I had a flight of sake. I wasn't in love with any of them. But they were all palatable. We shared the Shishido peppers which were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. We asked for some soy sauce on the side and find that an occasional dip of the pepper really brings out the flavor. We also shared the Wagyu Tataki. The presentation is lovely as it is for all the dishes. However, I found it slightly chewy. But the accompaniments were outstanding. We also shared a 14 ounce 30 day dry aged New York strip. Presented beautifully. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Accompaniments and sauces. Also terrific. However, we did not find that the steak had any actual flavor. But it was smooth and easy to chew. The espresso machine was broken, bummer. But we had a pot of tea and their warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Delicious.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. This is not the city for Mexican food, I do not care who tries to sway me. It simply. Does not. Work. The trend continues at this tiny cantina in Dyker Heights. I paid $40 for mediocrity, maybe even a step or two below it. The staff is friendly and cute, and speaking Spanish will get you further, but the food drops off significantly after the promising chips and dip. When I ordered the Queso Fundido, I was looking forward to a sharp Mexican blend with ground chorizo and some extra chips to boot. Instead I got what looked like blended Oaxaca cheese, an onion top, and some very unattractive bits of chorizo that were begging me not to eat them. So I did not. I ate the cheese because the cheese was pleasant, but the fact it comes with flour tortillas does not help its cause. When I ordered the Tortilla Soup, I was hoping for a nice blend of Mexican spices, shredded chicken, avocado, and tortilla strips. While I did get that, I also got bland flavors and a lack of any personality with the soup. In fact, it had a weird, milky, creamy broth that made me feel uncomfortable about finishing it. So I did not. When I ordered the fish tacos, I was expecting a nice piece of fresh fish, plenty of spicy pico, and an aoli to round out the whole thing. The breading for the fish is a tempura breading (bad call), and the fish they use is tilapia (an even worse call). I understand that this is not San Diego, but these two pieces of fish were practically begging me to put them out of their misery so I could send them packing for the Golden State at a later time. I duly complied. As I walked out I continued to wonder. Will this city ever get it right with a cuisine I hold close to my heart? Because right now, the future is looking bleak. At least my food was spared from further torture.
