I thought this place was going to be amazing because their IG looked so good. I got one shrimp taco-which was pretty decent. I got one asada taco and lengua taco. It's supposed to come with onion and cilantro (my fave) and it came with nothing lol. I told them I was allergic to egg/mayo but they should have still included onion and cilantro. The egg/mayo comment was more for the shrimp taco because it had the special sauce -- just wanted to make sure. I online ordered and they called me to tell me the masa was still resting. No problem, I like both corn and flour tortilla. One of my flour tortilla was so soft and really pale, I'm assuming it wasn't cooked properly. Although I got my order togo, the interior of the restaurant looked really fun. I don't know if the food tastes better once you have those fun drinks lol. Not sure if I'll be back but it was a nice try. read more

This place is the BEST. Everything we try is always delicious! The tortillas are incredibly fresh and tasty and the meat is full of flavor. A very fun place for lunch and dinner. It has the kind of decorations that make you want to take a photo. Faux neon led signs and other gorgeous light fixtures. It feels like a cool night club where you can enjoy a good meal. Speaking of good meals. The server told me everything was made fresh, and she was not lying. The tortillas had a handmade quality. I ordered a Birria taco which comes with consommé which was very delicious. One of the best I've had. Service was very friendly when I asked questions and were very pleased to guide me through the menu as a first timer. You don't really need a guide with their menu's; the items are easy to see and pick from. However, the wait staff was more than happy to tell me about her favorite menu item. They do not cater, but you can order a large plate of tacos for pickup and make your Taco Tuesday one to remember. read more

For a quick lunch this is a good place to stop in. Super causal with seating inside and outside. Outside seating out on the sidewalk near the road. Plants block the road a bit and provide some noise dampness. Inside is not big but has ample amount of tables. Menu consist of a variety of tacos and burritos. There is something for everyone. A variety of meats, shrimp and vegetables can be had! And every food item on the menu has a picture if needed. They even have Keto items on the menu. The tacos and burrito we had were good. Not super big but enough for lunch. If hungry, you may need more than three tacos and guacamole. Worth a visit for lunch! Open for dinner too! read more

Make sure to check your orders before you leave. Ordered through their online system and didn't check order until after leaving. They didn't include all paid for items. I'm never surprised where to find good anymore, but finding out where this was caught me a little off guard. As we drove past the quiet homes of Glendale, this little Main Street from a picturesque, small town appeared. On the corner, some of the best Mexican food awaited. When you walk in, you're soaked in the blues and purples of neon lights. There are chandeliers of empty wine bottles and the walls are adorned with art posters. We came around Dia De Los Muertos and they still had the colorful banners up. Latin music is blaring and sets a nice mood. At no point did I feel like I couldn't have a conversation or it was too loud. The chairs are those crappy metal chairs that stack up nicely and the tables were a bit wobbly, everything you'd expect from a taqueria. The menu is expansive and colorful. There are so many varieties of burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, but thankfully they have pictures of everything. Out of everything I could try on my first time, I decided to go big and get the "canasta de los pobres"...10 street tacos with all the fixings, served in a basket and there was nothing poor about this. I guess you're supposed to share this with another person, but I went all in and figured it would be a great way to try a bit of everything. When I try a new restaurant, I always try to get something basic, like a taco, and if they get that right, then there's hope for everything else. These weren't the best tacos I've ever had, but they were certainly up there. The best thing for me was the tortilla. They're handmade and the right amount of grilled, crunchy, and soft you want in a taco. The grease and salsa had trouble cutting through the double layer of deliciousness. My first taco to try was the lengua. Sure, it's not for everyone, but it's something I get from time to time. It was delicious. A bit chewy, as lengua goes, but it was also tender and flavorful. Things were starting off nicely. My second taco was the carnitas. They were just ok, a little bit dry on a taco. My girlfriend got the flautas and they were definitely better in there. I was skeptical to get shrimp tacos for such a low price, but these were excellent...perfectly cooked and nothing fishy about it. Will definitely be trying their shrimp offerings again, especially in a quesadilla. The best meat option I tried though was the al pastor. These tacos hit the spot. No, they're not saucy like other places and they're definitely not carved off a trompo. They weren't even the vibrant red one might be used to seeing and they didn't come with pineapple (although that's another type of taco they serve). These were more like marinated pork chops, hacked to bits, and fried until crispy and charred on a flat top. There were bits of fat on some of the bites that gave a nice balance and texture to the wonderful seasonings baked into the meat. With some lime, chopped red onions and cilantro, and a hit of their green salsa, the al pastor taco was a perfect two or three bites. The only slight disappointment was the carne asada. It was just a bit too dry and bland compared to the other meats. Like the carnitas, it's probably better in their quesadillas or burritos, but when it's just meat and tortilla, it was just lacking something. It could also be that I saved the asada for last and eating 10 tacos by myself was a bad idea. Also, I had it with their red salsa...which was good, but the spicier of the two. On closer inspection it might have been orange, which probably meant it was a habanero of some kind, but the lights made it hard to tell. It was spicy, but for me, the right amount of heat. If you can't handle spice, stick to the milder green salsa. To cool my palate, I washed everything down with their giant mug of horchata. It was a little more on the milky side, but it had just the right amount of cinnamon spice and sweetness to it. What made the meal more impressive is how great the service was. I came with my family: six adults and a four year old. Maria, our waitress, was so nice and accomodating. She made sure the little one got her kids quesadilla first and was very patient with her when she ordered. It was a Taco Tuesday and the place was full and people kept coming and going with take out orders. Looking around, I only saw Maria taking orders and bringing out food and there was only one cook making everything. Our orders were all correct and she said it would take 25 minutes, but it felt like we didn't wait that long. At one point during the meal, we asked Maria what "desvelados" means. She said it roughy translates to, "sleep deprived." After eating 10 delicious tacos, it was pretty easy to go bed that night and one things for sure, I'm never sleeping on this place again. read more

We're doing pick up at Tacos Los Desvelados... River Plate is about to become the new Primera A Champions for the Argentina league... Desvelados means "without sleep" Which is what Argentinean River fans are gonna be without tonight!!! SLEEP!!! When we get home we'll let you know just how GOOD these Tacos really are... But these are home made tortillas ... can't wait to sink my teeth into these zombie fixings... So we ain't playin around... and we ain't losing any sleep either ... now that's a lie... So the only comment I have is about the constructive criticism of the portions to the price. As it stands, it feels like what they served was about a $12-15 plate at most in "comps" value to what you might see at peer competitors, 'tho this is gourmet quality. If they doubled the portions served for $27, I wager they're profit margins won't get hurt on the cost of goods (food and portions) but I'm betting the customer care and satisfaction scores will bring back loyal customers with frequency. The service was friendly and atmosphere was nice with the outdoor seating. There's a sister restaurant, across the way with indoor dining.
