So far, the best tacos I've had in Glendale. Something that I'm weary of in taco joints is that it's often inconsistent, but I've gone here a couple of times and it was good. Also, yes the prices for tacos is a little steep but also it's filled with the meat to max, almost double to some other spots I know. Service is quick and friendly. read more

I called to make an order and asked the guy with the heavy accent, Jose, if the sauce was spicy or not - some places cook with sauces that are not spicy. First it was no, then it was mild... couldn't get an honest answer so I asked for the manager. He said that the manager wasn't in. Then I ask to speak with a waitress. All of 'em were busy. Then I asked for the chef. That was a no. Then I asked if anyone was there who could speak "some" english with some knowledge - actuate knowledge. He got offended (sorry I don't understand broken english to accommodate him, however, I'd like to see him to get by on Spanish in a place like China). Anyway, I tried calling on another day in hopes of speaking to someone that I could communicate with but he ID my number and now it's block - I hear it click but no one answers. So I had my son call from his phone and the call always goes right through -- this happened 3 times. I only hope that the owner reads this and resolves the problem of this guy blocking business calls just because he can't speak recognizable english, because this hurts the owners bottom line, ie, prevents him from making as much money as he's able. We were in town and craving for some delicious Mexican food. I called in for takeout, but the phone kept going straight to voicemail. I had no other choice, but to order once I arrive and hoping there wasn't a long line. Once arrived, luckily there was no line. I normally would order a burrito, but wasn't as hungry since we had a late lunch. I decided to order Asada Fries Beef and my wife got the Enchiladas carnitas. The cashier was talking to fast so it was a little difficult to understand her. (name on receipt was Juan). Asada Fries Beef - I enjoyed the meat, but not so much with the fries. Not as crispy and too dried for me. Enchiladas carnitas - My wife didn't really enjoyed it. It was too sour for her and the presentation was sloppy. I came here based off the reviews I read. They were not wrong. The food is delicious and authentic. You can tell it's all "home made" fresh and made with love. I got enchiladas plate, some tacos, and a burrito. Everything is yummy. To the guy who took my order, made my food, and packed my food to go... thank you. It's great to finally have a hole in the wall family owned Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood with good food. The food here is delicious, tastes homemade, and the portions are generous. For me their standout dishes are their Tlayuda and their enfrijoladas, both of which are very flavorful and a great amount of food for the price. Their burritos are fantastic as well, and are very affordably priced. I just can't bring myself to spend $20 on a burrito at Taco Azteca anymore. Although this place is situated in this very drab Little Caesars parking lot, when you walk in, you're going to feel like you're in Mexico. I came back to this app after a few years off it to say their breakfast burrito is BOMB!! I ordered the chorizo with sour cream on the side and a agua de jamaica. My gf had the same with cheese and sour cream and a cafecito. All the ratios in the burritos were perfect and they kept it light on the sour cream. It's one of those dishes you either love or dislike. Found the authentic Mexican food in Glendale. I was craving some real carne asada tacos just like Nema use to make. And this place filled the taco sized hole in my stomach, 4 times over. I was going to order more, but I was barely able to kick the urge before the addiction took over my body. I will be coming back to try everything else very soon. Nothing really to complain about. The tlayuda is really good - a gem of a find in the glendale area; I don't see many spots serving the variety of dishes they have here. The tacos are a really great portion size for the price! Memela is a good size too for the price (judt under 10 dollars and I think it's enough to feed 1 or 2 people with another item). I've had the asada, al pastor, cecina, and chorizo here, and they are all excellent! I especially appreciate that the chorizo is meaty and not too oily!
