Exceptional service and great meal. I had lunch here with a friend. They have a new menu and I was happy to have tried the crab bisque which was so creamy and delicious. We also tried some cocktails and they were stiff!!! Lovely place to dine after shopping at Nordstrom!!!

Horrible food. I got coupons downstairs after picking up my order so decided to give it a try. It's disgusting. The food was overcooked. The only thing decent was the tomato soup.

Burrata plate was perfect! Loved the pesto in there.

First time eating here and the food was delicious and nicely presented. I'm giving 4 stars because of the service.. Server wasn't very attentive and seemed irritable. There were only a few tables occupied, so I was surprised by how slow the service was. Place was pretty quiet.

After visiting the Tesla store in Americana, one of the employees recommended us to try this location. Since it's Christmas time and all the restaurants were packed, she said that Bar Verde restaurant is usually available because it's in a hidden place and not many people know about it. It's located on the rooftop (3rd floor) of Nordstrom. So we decided to give it a try. We saw the sign of Bar Verde next to the Nordstrom sign, but we didn't find the entrance. Honestly, it was a hidden place! So we asked one of the Nordstrom employees how we could reach the restaurant, and she said to use the elevator. It's located on the 3rd floor, all the way at the end of the store next to the children's section. As soon as we found the elevator, we saw the sign of the restaurant. After we went to the 3rd floor, again we started to look for the children's section. There was no sign showing which direction we should go to find the restaurant. The sign of the restaurant is hidden behind store decorations and columns. There was a lady at the front and she greeted us and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. I asked if there was a heater available outside because we wanted to enjoy the rooftop view of Americana. So we sat outside, but unfortunately we didn't have much of a view. There was only one spot with a good view, which was already occupied. We sat next to the alley side, and it was windy, but the heater helped a little to keep us warm. The menu had plenty of drink options, but we didn't try any of them. We were starving, so we decided to order food. The prices for this place were a little bit high. We ordered mostly the cheapest options, sandwiches, one French dip, and one Nordstrom burger. The food was okay, but it wasn't wow compared to other places. Also, there was plenty of seating area inside and outside of the restaurant, even during a very busy Christmas evening. The service was not bad. Overall, it was a good experience for such a busy and packed day, and a good choice.

Service was attentive and helpful. My sparkling drink was refreshing and delicious. My bestie and I started off with Burrata with heirloom tomatoes for starter. It was absolutely delicious. As was the lobster bisque. Chefs kiss. Creamy, flavorful and tasty. For entree, she chose the Campanelle, mushroom and chicken pasta, which was actually quite dry missed the mark on this particular occasion. I chose the salmon salad. The fish was cooked perfectly and the pesto crust was delicious. Ambiance was nice and quiet for a regular Tuesday morning. A lovely stop after spending some time shopping at Nordstrom.

If you're looking for nice place to have lunch or dinner where the noise level is low, this might be a good place. The food options are good. The service was great. It's a wonderful spot if you're shopping at the Americana.

The most average meal I have ever had in a restaurant. I have been coming to the Americana ever since they opened and never ate here at the Bar Verde until last Thursday when my mom and I met here for lunch. I always wondered how the food is and now I know. The Asian salad I ordered was the worst salad I ever ate. So salty and the chicken on top was so dry I couldn't even chew it. The portion was like a side salad portion. Very disappointing. My mom ordered the pappardelle with shrimp and couldn't even finish it. The shrimp tasted so bad but the pasta sauce was ok. On the bright note the ginger peach iced tea I ordered was delicious specially on a hot autumn day in LA ... customer service was unfriendly and the ambiance a bit cold. Since I was with my mom I had a good time talking and spending time with her. Other than that this lunch was a fail.

My family and I came to Bar Verde for the Icon dinner, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. We were seated outside on the rooftop, which had a great ambiance and views of the Americana. Since we were sitting on the rooftop, we were able to watch the fake snow fall for Christmas which made the evening feel special. We made a reservation in advance and the wait time to be seated was minimal. Service throughout the night was attentive and friendly, with our server checking in regularly. For appetizers, we ordered the margarita flatbread, brussel sprouts, calamari, and lobster bisque. The flatbread great shareable starter. The brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy and was probably one of the best appetizers on the menu. The calamari was crispy and well seasoned. The lobster bisque was rich and had a great crispy bread to go with it. Since we arrived toward the end of the night, the restaurant ran out of a few items that we ordered (for instance, we received a cup of lobster bisque instead of a bowl & received a cookie sundae instead of a brownie sundae). The restaurant is accommodating and provided alternative options for food items that were no longer available. For the main course, I ordered the flank steak, which was full of flavor and cooked to a perfect medium rare. For those with a heavier appetite, I'd suggest ordering something else since the portion size was quite small. For dessert, my family and I shared the creme brulee and brownie sundae. The creme brulee had a smooth custard with a nicely caramelized top, and the brownie sundae was great for sharing. I would definitely come back again especially for an evening out with family. Plus, they validate parking for the Americana!

The food was great. I shared a cauliflower flatbread & had a super refreshing cilantro lime vinegrette salad.... it all tasted fresh and flavorful. I have a gluten allergy & the chef was very accommodating, made the whole experience even better. Plus, the vibe of the place was great.... super chill, def coming back!

Staff were really nice, and the restaurant was really clean. The ambiance was very cozy and intimate, so if you're interested in a quiet meal after shopping at the americana, this is the spot!

Gifts for being an Icon status

I obtained an Icon status with Nordstrom and one of the benefits is a complimentary meal for four guests. My family and I made a reservation through Nordstrom Icon for dinner. We arrived a bit too early but they seated us with no issue. This meal is comped except alcohol. The staff gifted me a cook book, a box of chocolate and a $50 gift card. I was only aware of the gift card so I was surprised by other gifts given. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers: Heirloom tomatoes & burrata* Kung pao brussels sprouts* Lobster bisque* Crisp calamari Margherita flatbread Main: Braised beef sandwich Chef's featured steak 6oz filet mignon Chef's featured steak 8oz flat iron* Halibut & chips Crab mac & cheese* Drinks: Golden hour Berry ginger smash Diet coke Sparkling lemonade Dessert: White chocolate bread pudding* Creme brulee* Double chocolate brownie sundae I love all the dishes with (*). I was pleasantly surprised by the white chocolate bread pudding. It's one of my favorite desserts and I will order it if it's on the menu. Every restaurant does it differently and for this restaurant, they made the bread crispy. Not soft like other bread puddings. I really enjoyed it! Service was slow, but always with a smile and a positive attitude. The kitchen messed up on the filet mignon. We asked for medium but it came out well done. The server was so kind to let us pick another option due to this mistake. Overall, food was better than expected! I would love to sit outside on a patio next time.

Considering that this is a restaurant inside a store, the food was actually pretty good. We went for brunch, had shrimp egg Benedict and Wild Shrimp Tagliatelle. I would definitely get again.

They both came in a timely manner and were filling. My chicken was nice and tender and had a good amount of flavor. We also really liked their beer selection. The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against.
