When i looked up Detail plus all i saw were 5 star reviews and i thought to myself no way this is total BS. But i figured what the heck i took my dad's 2008 Cadillac STS4 there that he smoked in for 7 years. Jeff was upfront and nice he listed all the work and prices. they kept the car overnight and it was ready when he said it would be ready. NOW i understand why he only gets 5 stars because that's the most you can give. I brought my 2005 Bonneville in hoping for "better", it had been smoked in since 2005 and the interior was badly stained and really dirty. Not only did the they make the interior look almost new, the exterior looks fantastic too. They even shampooed the trunk which I wasn't expecting. I would recommend them to friends. read more

Sometimes, you find out most about a business when things go wrong. I brought my 20 year old car here to have the engine steam cleaned, so my mechanic could look for an oil leak on a clean slate. My mechanic sent me to Detail Plus because he's known them for years. The engine went from oil-black to shiny metal when they were done, but somehow my car wasn't running smoothly. The guy who runs the place spent a while blowing compressed air into all the nooks and crannies to get out any water that might be causing the problem, but to no avail. Eventually, he gave me a ride to work and kept the car. He hoped the whatever-was-wet would dry out with time, but it didn't. So he took my car over to my mechanic (!) and called me to let me know where it was. Yeah, I just sat at work while he transported it where it needed to go. My mechanic fixed the problem, which I think was mostly just when you futz with older cars sometimes almost-broken parts finally give up. A couple of days later, the Detail Plus guy even called me to follow up and make sure everything had been resolved satisfactorily. read more

Fantastic work, I'd give more stars if I could. They drove me back to work after dropping my car off and showing them a few scratches that I wondered if they could do anything about. After they called me back to let me know the car was ready I was told they "did the best they could with them". I can't even find them now, no matter how hard I look.. I've been bringing my '04 VW R32 here since I bought the car in '07 from Sunnyvale VW (who also recommended Detail Plus). I came for the usual engine detail and undercarriage wash. Jeff added a few things like wheel cleaning and front grille detailing for free. He's very customer-oriented as I feel like he doesn't try to run up the bill with unnecessary services. He might recommend a service but you don't get the feeling that he's trying to "pad" the bill. I highly recommend Detail Plus! Oh and if you're looking for it on El Camino Real it's actually behing Rainbow Car Wash; I always seem to drive by it and have to make a U-Turn :-) read more

Jeff Andrieu has been manager for 30 years here, and oversees all the various teams detailing work very closely. Detail plus is the best of the best....and they offer many variations of work including steam cleaning of the engine. I took a 2002 Lexus Rx300 and it looks like it came off the selling floor. I think I'm officially spoiled. This was my first time ever going to get detail cleaning in my car since I have a pug, he leaves hair everywhere and it was getting out of hand. I was able to book Detail Plus the following day. Dropped it off in the morning and by mid afternoon it was ready to go. I know detailing is pricey and at first I was hesitant but after I went to go pick it up I was completely satisfied. Every nook was cleaned and they were nice enough to store my personal things in plastic bags. My car wasn't in the worst condition to begin with but even so I was super happy. I will definitely come back when I need a thorough cleaning. read more

I went here after seeing the rave reviews. It's tucked in off the street. Drove in for a car wash. There were probably 15 employees there that all just kind of stared, ignored etc. I parked, and got out to ask about a car wash. This lady acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, after a 5 minute conversation with some suspicious guy in the office, she came back out & said I could wait 45 minutes and pay $30 for a wash... whuuuuuuut? No. Went to the other place on the corner. $20, 20 minutes later, they did a great job, no hassle. Don't no about detailing, but definitely find someone else to wash your ride. read more

Engine Cleaning was just so-so, kinda half done. For $75 dollars I expected a much cleaner engine. Some of the hoses were clean on one side and dirty on the side you couldn't see. I had an appointment for 1:00 on Saturday and showed up at 12:45 to make sure they had ample time to finish the job. I called at 5:07 to check on the status of my car and was told that they still needed about 30 minutes because they wanted to make sure it was done right. I told Jeff to take his time. I finally received the call at 5:53 that the car was ready for pick up. I took a look at the vehicle and immediately noticed the seats still had dirt spots and the console also had dirt spots that wiped away easily when Jeff wiped them down. I pointed out a few things that were missed on the exterior of the vehicle, for example a few obvious scratches and some paint from a door ding that easily wiped away. It was late in the day and was hard to see the rest of the interior so I figured I would inspect it more the next day. Let me just say I spent half my Sunday going over and wiping down everything that was missed on the interior. I had to go over the dashboard, the door panels, door jams, underneath the doors, and there was a strange odor from possibly the towel that was used to wipe the seat. My car normally smells like leather on the inside, but it smelled like dirty towel or something funky. I had to go over the windows again because they missed the bottom 1/2 inch (because the windows move up to create a seal when the door is closed). To top it off, I couldn't find my floor mats so I popped the trunk and noticed they were stacked up in there. They were still wet, yet the stains were still there. Maybe I expect too much, but I was hoping to be wowed when my interior was like new again; however, I was unfortunately let down. I paid for the top of the line Detail Plus Service #3. The bottom line is that their service level is equal to a very good cleaning, but the details were definintely overlooked. I don't believe a very good cleaning is worth $225. Detail Plus? I took my minivan there for a hand wash. They did an okey job. I paid $35 with credit card and tipped with cash. However, I just found that my credit card was charged $40. I am filing a dispute right now with my credit card company for the 'extra tip' they charged. read more

Jeff the manager has worked very well to communicate what he does in his detail car cleaning. I've used him twice now going on # 3 and they do a very good job for the price. They will clean the outside and inside and polish your can, clean the windows, dress your tires, nicely cleaned mats, and bring your car back to a new-like condition depending on how old your car is. I have sold one car very quickly based on what they did to make it look good. They guy at Wheels and Deals said it was one of the best cars he's ever seen at the lot. It was low mileage but still it shows they do good work. They have also been helpful to give me rides back home one way and help me with any questions I have had. For example he looked at much touch up paint job and said it wan't very good so he had me buy some paint and come back and he helped me touch it up again and it looked way better. He didn't even charge me for that help. They also have a winter special going on so it's $50 off and if you use them every 6 months they knock off $50 off the price also. I heard through the grapevine that prices may be going up so take advantage of the $200 price to get your car looking new again. These people are highly recommended and they are super nice too. read more

Horrible service!! Don't waste your money there!!! They charged me $250 for cleaning my car and promised that they would make it immaculate. I was surprised when I got a call just after 2.5 hours. Usually full cleaning should take around 4-5 hours. What I found was utterly disappointing. The car upholstery was wet and still full of stains, so much that when I wipe my hand on it, it was coming out wet and dirty. I showed the guy a few places inside the car where debris was left untouched. After bringing the car home I hear the clicking sound when I turn on the heater/AC. It's because the debris went inside the vents!! The guy (Jeff), who is the head there even lied to me that the seats were removed while cleaning. I removed one seat to show him the debris under it, and he couldn't even put it back. read more

I think this place becomes too popular and cannot handle the volume. I left my car with them in the morning and was told that it would be done in 2-3 hours. At 3 pm I called and was told that it would be ready by 5 p.m. At 6:20 p.m. they needed another 10 minutes. When I picked it up, the seats where totally wet. Hence, my shirt and pants where wet from the seat by the time I got home. It was also hard to see whether they have done a good job, while the carpet and upholstery where wet. read more

I took my SUV here for interior detailing. The folks at Detail Plus were very professional - both over the phone and in person - and did a timely and good job overall. If there was an option for a quick carwash (instead of the more expensive exterior detailing) or if they did a complimentary wash like they do at the car service places, I would have given a 4 star rating. Am from SF but was in Mountain View for an appointment and afterwards decided to find a place not too far to get my Audi washed. Preferred no-brush car wash (touch less) or else a quick hand wash. So when I searched Yelp and found this place I thought I'd give it a shot. I like all the references to it being a family run local business and the fact that its been around for a few decades. All good signs for me at least. So I went and even without an appointment they were able to take me right away and said that the hand wash and detail would be done in just under an hour. I walked a block to Starbucks and chilled for a bit then when I went back my Audi was done and looked awesome. Exceeded expectations and for the price I paid (I think it was around $30) it was more than worth it. There are a lot of big car wash operations around that send your car through the machines and then a bunch of people swirl around your car drying and doing the touch ups but they usually cost even more than this. So if you have a little more time and you want professional service and attention to detail by a local-owned business that is super nice and genuinely cares about its customers, give this pace a shot. just came back from this place and it's great! my son spilled milk in the back seat a few days ago and i didn't notice it until it started to smell. i took the car in and jeff (the manager/owner) worked on it right away. he took the whole back seat out, found the soiled area and cleaned it up right there on the spot. i was in a rush so the fact that he worked on it pronto was a big plus for me. he dry and wet vacuumed the soiled area, sprayed the area down and wiped it all clean. with two little kids, this easy and fast experience is just what i needed. read more

Finally got my wife's 2014 Ford Explorer in for a full detail today. We opted for package number two and quoted $320 we were told package included for complete interior and exterior detail. We also had two small door-dings that they needed a speak with dent removal tech before a hard price could be quoted. We arrived to pick up The vehicle around 6pm the tech was just finishing it up. I looked over the the car and noticed all the surface scratches we're not removed I spoke to the tech he said that we should have paid the up charge to have the car buffed out with rubbing compound, this was never offered during the drop off no recommendations where made at all during the drop. The. We come to find out that the dent guy was MIA today so this was not completed. The tech don't know his name was great he went out of his way to spot buff the scratches that we could see. I think I may return to this shop and could recommend it but I feel that they should offer some expert opinion about what services would be best. read more

I went here for the first time and got a buff/polish/wax for a full sized suv. I paid $165, and what i found was that this place is solid, they take their time and dont miss anything. It took about 3 hours but the car looks like its off the show room floor. read more
