I have been to this location on several occasions and every thing the service is satisfactory. The environment is relaxed and friendly. I definitely recommend the strawberry-Oreo shake it is the best of the menu. The Taco Dawg is amazing! It seems like the place to get really crowded later in the evening after the bars let out. But we went there at about 7PM and it was completely empty. I've tried this place several times, as I'm in Wicker Park a lot. I've tried their hot dogs and I just don't like them. From the sausage they use to the bun and to the relish it's just not good. I like other places better. I've given the hot dog several chances and each time it fails to deliver. Recently went in here when I was on a quick break from a conference. Knowing that I hate the hot dogs, I gave another menu item a chance- a crispy chicken sandwich and fries. When I received it everything was burnt. Even the bun on the sandwich was burnt. The crispy chicken and the french fries were not only burnt, but they tasted like they had been fried in old oil. That's the final straw for me. I've given this place several chances and each time have been disappointed. They get 2 stars because service has been pretty quick each time- but the food is just not good to me. read more

Blue Demon Dawgs has evil sauce, Onion, Sauerkraut, Pickle and Spicy Mustard. Chicago Dog has mustard, Onions, Relish, Pickle, Tomato, Sport Peppers & Celery Salt. Icelandic Dawg has sweet Dijon Mustard, Ketchup, Homemade Remoulade, Diced Onions and Crispy Shallots. It's not a Corn Dog. It has mayonnaise, Green Chiles, Pico De Gallo, Marinated Corn, Cotija Cheese and Spicy Spice. It's too veggie for me and I find it not interesting. I'm not a veggie person. This is my go to place for a chicken sandwich. There are other things on the menu such as hotdogs and hamburgers that also look good, but I don't mess with what works. Chicken sandwich, every time. The "mother clucker" is mother cluckin' good. First of all. You get your money's worth. HUGE sandwich for a reasonable price. The chicken itself is crispy and marries well with the slaw on top. Sometimes a slaw can ruin the chicken, but it works well in this case. All of this on top of a pretzel bun, which may or may not work for some people, depending on preference. The service is fast and friendly. The place is funky and cool with an urban vibe. It is located amongst a street filled with other hip choices. I ordered The Classic, Rooster and Clucker. The Classic has Buttermilk Battered Fried Chicken, House Mayo, Pickle, Shredded Lettuce, House Spice, on a Brioche Roll. It's good that it came really quick. My kids are happy when they see that I bought a burger. When my son tastes one of the burger he said that it is too hot. For my first ever visit to Chicago I had to try a Chicago-style hot dog. They have two different sizes: regular and the Big Chicago. That seven years ago he lived in Lincoln Park, we lived there for about five years and we would frequent the Devil dogs near Depaul. Wife fell in love with the southern dog that had the creamy as tasty as coleslaw and mustard on a delicious Vienna Chicago hotdog, although she did not like mustard which simply ordered it without it and everything was fine. Fast forward about seven years and we visited the Milwaukee location today. I was in the city on Business and my wife was Jones in for her hotdog. I walked in about 12:45 PM and there was not a soul in the place that should've been telling. I placed my order for two of the southern dogs in a large order fries and a drink and a small burger. I paid my $19 and went to fill my soft drink. A few moments later they called my number and I picked up my food. They did not allow indoor seating so we had to enjoyed in the car as we were driving. The fries were hot but not crispy they seemed a bit under done. That is such a shame because they usually have awesome fries but these were passable. My burger was a congealed mess and was ice cold in the middle which makes me think that it was microwaved which would be such a travesty as I was the only customer there. We have pulled away about a mile or so getting ready to get on 94 when we realize there was only one southern dog, at four bucks a pop it's annoying not to get what you pay for but that's not the worst part. These delicious hotdogs that my wife remembers with the creamy coleslaw these were not creamy at all they were dry cabbage and had absolutely no flavor or taste whatsoever. The hotdog was crisp and delicious the bun was great but the coleslaw was severely lacking, they must've change something and let me tell you it sucks. She will crave that anymore on the positive side as my wife will no longer crave these so I won't have to drive into Chicago to pick them up. Devil dogs lost a customer today and it is sad because there was no one in the restaurant the entire time I was there. The only thing I could think of is this place sold out and install run by some nameless corporation that doesn't care about quality of ingredients or taste or anything like that. I'm very sorry for that because they used to be a really great little hotdog stand. Perhaps the Depaul location is owned by someone else or managed by a different person but we've never had a problem or any issue with that location but it's been a long while since we've been there. Got the Clucker, tater tots and a Morning slider. The Clucker was a delicious/crispy chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. The tots were a large serving size that were crispy and fresh. The morning slider was delicious as well, that had crispy bacon and an egg on a cheeseburger slider. Only reason this isn't 5 stars is because it took almost 30 minutes to get my food after ordering and they said they were out of fries when I ordered(even though we could see them prepare multiple orders of fries after ordering). Regardless, the meat itself was cooked just right so that it had a crispy shell and juicy center. It also had a nice spice profile that I hadn't really experienced with a hot dog before. Overall, good experience and I would order again. Fries (and added devil sauce): The fries are light and fluffy. You get a good combination of fries that eat like steak fries but also have some good crispers mixed in which I like (and possibly prefer). Not too salty but definitely left me craving a nice cold glass of water! The devil sauce is a slightly spicy, I want to say ranch? based sauce that had some additional flavors mixed in. Its a bit hard to pinpoint but it is a pleasant blend of flavor and added something to the fries above eating them simply with ketchup. The slaw dawg was good. Just a dog with a pickle and some come slaw on a bun. It is what it is. The fries were regular fries with normal nacho cheese sauce. They have a choice between canned sodas and fountain drinks. The fountain sodas were flat but whatever. I ended up ordering a shake when I was done with the meal. A Butterfinger shake. Yum!! I was very pleased! $4.99 but it was a large size and delicious!!! The food was quick. The service was good. 3 stars because I believe 3 stars is average. I think devil Dawgs was pretty average. Doing some shopping in Wicker Park and took a lunch break at Devil Dawgs. Very fun decor and a pretty huge menu for a hot dog joint. I settled on a plain old dog with some "Devil" sauce, an order of cheese fries and a soda. $10 for lunch, so not too cheap, but not terrible either. They use natural casing Red Hot Chicago brand for some good flavor and that snap when you bite in. The Devil sauce adds some good heat, but isn't overwhelming. It's a good combo. The fresh cut fries were the biggest small size ever! They were great! Pepsi products along with a few House sodas. They also have a huge selection of snakes. I was too stuffed to try one, but they sounded good, and judging by the table next to me, they tasted good too! First experience was not good, but willing to give it another try due to all the hype. I ordered the "voodoo dawg". It's an andouille chicken sausage wrapped in a French roll with hot peppers and their homemade slaw. Sounds good? No it wasn't. The first bite was all bread and slaw. I take another bite and it's the same thing. I open the dawg up and see the sausage is tiny compares to the bread and toppings. The bread is falling apart, not sure if it's stale or if French bread is naturally dry and tasteless.
