We go here occassionally and it never disappoints! The baked goods are made fresh and I appreciate the new ideas that come through. On this trip, we had their breakfast sammy sandwich with eggs, cheese and vegetables on a warm potato bun. It was a little pricey for $10 and no meat, but you could add ham to it. We also had a coconut almond croissant, which was very good. The staff was nice, but a little slow. We drank our lattes in the front and the courtyard is a very nice place to relax. I'm so glad I was able to finally get over here! It's a cute and cozy little shop, and I was greeted with a warm smile when I came in. My friend told me to get the gator claw, and I'm so glad I listened! I also tried the Vaucroissant and the special black sesame pound cake. All delicious and such a treat. I chose three sweet croissant options and got a cold brew . The first one that I took a bite of has coconut and pecans..... to die for! No indoor seating that I can tell ( I was in and out) nice ambiance though. This croissant pecan coconut thing is buttery and sweet and delicious! As I'm writing the review I'm eating it. I was planning a visit to New Orleans and was on YouTube and a video on Lagniappe Bakehouse came up! I thought to myself I need to go there. I tried going Saturday morning but they were sold out - I checked their IG luckily and saved a trip there. I woke up early Sunday so I came to Lagniappe around 930am and they were fully stocked. There was a small line of people, but the line grew each minute we were there. So be prepared to wait for a bit! Line moved pretty quickly and efficiently. The bakery is in this super cute remodeled house. The staff are super kind and friendly. The decor is cute and welcoming. Got a couple of pasties - the corn muffin, a biscuit, birds of paradise, and persimmon short bread. We also tried their breakfast sandwich and a cappuccino. Pastries were pretty good and a good size. Prices are a little high but you can tell it's made with good ingredients. I enjoyed the biscuit and shortbread biscuit the most. The muffin was a little dry and birds of paradise a bit fragrant in taste. The sandwich was quite small but definitely tasty! And the cappuccino was really good. Well balanced with the foam, milk, and espresso. Definitely a great spot with lots of pastry options and love poured in it. read more

Lagniappe Bakehouse was an absolute 10/10. Came on a Saturday around 11:50am and everything was still an option to order! Buns, croissants, cookies, sandwiches... etc. The vibe, the coffee, the BAKED GOODS... everything was incredible. This was easily the best bun I've ever had--so many layers of flavor, perfectly soft and moist, nowhere near dry. The breakfast sandwich was also an explosion of flavor, and the miso matcha with coconut milk was perfectly balanced. Even the black drip was great coffee. 5 hours later and I'm still thinking about that bun. I truly can't wait to come back and try more. It's worth every penny and every 5-star review. Cute bakery in a neighborhood setting. I loved the breakfast sandwich (sauce was so good!!) but I wish the pastries were warmed up more. I found the cornmeal muffin to be a bit dry since it was also cold, but I liked the honey butter on top. I learned that the hard way when I went back for their spiced sesame (someone tell me the name?) cookie and it was sold out! Saw this place in a few YouTube videos so decided to check it out. All I can say is WOW! The long line is well deserved and worth waiting in. A cute little unassuming house that you would miss if you blinked, but thank god I kept my eyes open. Everyone inside was wonderful and helpful. The food is second to none. Tried the Vaucresson, Gator Claw, and the Grains of Paradise. Each was better than the last, and none were slouching. Flavors you would want to have in your mouth every morning if you lived nearby. This place is a cute little GEM in Central City!!! A very much needed place in this area! Went on a Saturday morning with my husband and son to meet up with a friend visiting from New York and this place was booming upon arrival. Line out the door, you could tell these were all neighbors that live in this area. Mixed crowd, other families with kids there. What I like most about this bakery is that literally EVERY THING is different. Most of the ingredients they use are imported and they have a little "extra" on every pastry. They even have a turkey sandwich that has this bread and spread TO DIE FOR. Their price point is moderate but for what you are getting it's worth every penny. Black owned and well ran. Service was quick and very helpful. A little tight inside with one table, but plenty of outdoor seating with little fans on each table to keep pesky flies away! Tried 3 pastries this time around. All three were great. The seasonal danish was my favorite, with peaches and lemon curd. The birds of paradise was really good. I got a hint of cardamom, but unsure if it even has cardamom in/on it. I wouldn't get the vaucroissant again, but thought it was still good. The cashier did say he liked the gator claw better, so maybe next time. I stopped by before heading home and grabbed a pain au chocolate and was really disappointed. I always always always bring pastries to my dad whenever I travel, on the day I come back so they're as fresh as possible, but after looking at the pastry case nothing looked appealing, so I only got one for myself. Unfortunately I was right and for the first time ever I threw away most of it after having a few bites. It was slightly overcooked & not sure if dry is the right word- a croissant isn't known to be moist by any means but considering the amount of butter that goes into them, they shouldn't be dry. I tried my level best to get up early enough to get here to try the Vaucroissant I'd heard so much about but I was too late, just missed the last one. The lady in front of me beat me to it! It's a Creole sausage filled pastry, the bakery uses a locally owned sausage company to make the pastry. It took me a minute to gather myself from the loss of that infamous creation but there were a few more items to choose from. I settled on The Grains of Paradise Bun and a hot chocolate. The young man working was very informative about the items they had, although they were sold out of quite a few things. That's what happens when you're up dancing to live music all night, you get up late. They had a few pastries and some quiche left. They also had an assortment of coffee to choose from. The bakery is located a charming house, not much room to eat inside but they had seating outside under the tree and the lady with my pastry was out there enjoying My pastry. The Grains of Paradise Bun is beautiful layers of dough wrapped and wrapped to make this beautiful bun with a touch of lemon zest on top. When I bit into it, I tasted a spice that gently filled my mouth with a touch of lemon. Perfect for dunking into hot coffee or hot chocolate for me. I passed by Lagniappe today after my morning walk. The perfect weather helped to make my visit all the more pleasant. The Bakehouse is located in a gorgeous newer construction building in Central Central on Euterpe. The front courtyard had a large Oak tree for cover. The inside space is bright and smells like heaven. Immediately, I was greeted by smiles and gorgeous variety of croissants to choose from. I ordered the smoked ham and comté cheese croissant. The price point is on the higher end but it was well worth it in my opinion. Perfectly flaky and flavorful. Also had the South African Rooibos tea. Since I don't eat bread at home, this is was a welcome opportunity to indulge. So I did and it was glorious. I also had a slice of the sweet potato cheesecake and it was soooo yummy. Great consistency and the sweet potato flavoring was subtle. I ate half and saved the rest for later to give myself something to look forward to. I now have a new favorite spot to visit on leisurely mornings! read more

Seems the word got out, judging by the lines out the front door and the many tables filled in their courtyard, but the incredible food and drinks explain everything. Cannot think of tastier pastries anywhere in New Orleans, and the coffee is seriously on point as well. Service with a smile is their hallmark, though clearly much hard work goes into filling those cases and feeling so many hungry mouths. Prices are reasonable, and portion sizes (especially the pre-made sandwiches) are enough for local appetites accustomed to leaving full. This place you have to go early. I got there at 10:30am and they almost sold out. The lady in front of me heard me talking to my friend saying I really wanted to try the corn muffin and it was the last one when it was her turn!!!
