We tried a flight of the rainforest saison (with blueberries, so delicious), barrel aged slack tide and the island fever. I got the North Chuglas, a really smooth hefe, perfect after a long hike in the rainforest. I'd definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly - they gave us a few tastings before we decided and told us a bunch of local spots to go to as well! Do yourself a favor and order the pretzels - salty, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside with the perfect melted cheese. Yum! Juneau was one of our Celebrity cruise ship stops. It turned out to be a rainy cold miserable day and our helicopter adventure was cancelled early on in the day. We had a entire day to kill so we set about the town. Bringing things to a close, my girlfriend and I decided to partake in a some local craft beer. I had found DCB on Yelp and, with all the outstanding reviews, couldn't pass up an opportunity to visit. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the brew and food choices. My eyes grabbed ahold of a pretzel and dip app walking out of the kitchen door .... and it was on from there! We didn't plan on eating anything since we had a dinner planned when we climbed back on the ship, but how could you not chow down on that pretzel and dip?! So we did. So. Dang. Good. Order it! Once we finished the hike and arrived back into Juneau, we had to grab a beer. It's our goal to hit up a brewery in many cities in AK. This place was where we belonged. In all of Alaska (and we tried at least 5 other breweries), this was our fave. Beer was great and that pretzel with beer cheese will never leave that menu because we loved it and apparently so did ALL the people around us. This is the place to be. I wish I got the bartender's name. We'd just gotten off an Un-Cruise that morning and we're interested in getting a bite to eat and a beer after wandering around town. Upon entry we were greeted by a male bartender and I asked, "what beer do you suggest to someone who really doesn't drink beer?" He asked my husband what he did drink. Tequila. He asked a couple other questions. Then he suggested a beer and gave my husband a taster. Not only did he enjoy that beer, he ordered two more. As for the food items, the carrot hummus was bomb. I love this place, but every time I go, I am a little bit more disappointed. Too many people bring their kids to these places and now they are catering to it with toys in the entry. The same familiar faces camp and overstay in the few comfy chairs and the selection is always dominated by sours, so if lactose isn't your thing, check the tap toom listings before planning your stop. The pretzel and beer cheese used to be amazing, but now its Costco reheat and serve. The Rachel and Cuban sandwiches are ok and weekly "pizza" specials are... odd. Still worth a stop at least once to see how Juneau breweries drew the map. Expect upgrades coming as they acquired more space on Front Street connected to their (former basement) brewing room and some of the original favorites are making a comeback. No more curbside pick up due to new regulations, so expect a line to grab some bottles or cans for your weekend. read more

Normally don't start a brewery review with talking about food, but get the pretzels with beer cheese. I don't know what kinda of crack they put in both, but they are amazing. This is not some frozen stuff heated up, it's is homemade (for all I know) and amazing. It looks original and tastes original. Super good. Beers, lots of IPAs and sours, but they have a few that will wet your whistle if you aren't into those. I had a Hefe and a barrel aged quad. The hefe grew on me, the quad was very good. The staff were friendly, although I did sense a bit of frustration when I asked for me 3rd sample. It's a brewery. I'm not familiar with your beer. I got the whole "try a flight thing", but I want a pint (which, btw you don't get here. It's 12oz or less thanks to Alaska). I'd like to sample to see what I like. Bear with me, the oh off is there. We had 4 beers and 4 samples, so all was good. So, I digress, other than that brief annoyance, great place. Good beers, great pretzels, cool vibe. You won't be disappointed! read more

They are enforcing the covid-19 policy very well! The staff wore masks and gloves all the time. All tables are widely spaced. I had at least 15 feet of distance between my table and other guest's table. As for food I had the mushroom bowl, it should be illegal! The sauce is so so good. Their staff was really accommodating with my need to write back and forth (I'm deaf and don't read lips) they were nice enough to let me know that my original bowl pick had seafood ingredient in the sauce which I switched to the mushroom bowl. Then I ordered an app, the cook came to my table to let me know that there is anchovies in the sauce. We got a replacement sauce. Really great service! Our group enjoyed the ambience (used to be an old theater) and the bar staff was efficient and friendly. Didn't have any food except the popcorn, but ordered two servings as it was that good. Loved their Hazy IPA, it was my favorite, it was hazy and fruity. All the other beers are decent/okay. The inside of the brewery is nice and airy, with lots of space between tables and sitting areas. We also loved their pretzel with beer cheese and pizza. Their beer cheese had a little bit of a tangy/sour/parmesan flavor, instead of your traditional cheddar, but we were a huge fan.
