The spot is a cool, chill location. The bartender was very knowledgeable on all the drinks. Tried the Manhattan and Gin & Tonic. Both are good. Very well made drinks and great tasting. Definitely a place to stop and relax for a handcrafted cocktail.

I can't say I was too big a fan of the drinks but I'm also not a gin person. It wasn't very busy so we were able to get a seat by the windows and people watch.

Amalga is a small distillery on the outskirts of downtown offering a free tasting, craft cocktails and grab and go cans. They only had Juniper Gin for both tasting and cocktails so not quite the distillery we had in mind! The gal at the counter was super sweet and inviting and the gin was smooth and sweet as well. As a distillery, they have a two drink minimum which is great for a little diversion from the tourist area. Sadly, two of the folks in our group didn't like gin so we didn't stay long!

Talk about a cool downtown Juneau spot to get a delicious drink alone, as a pair, or group! The decor is welcoming & a cool chill vibe. High top tables or low. Shared tables with strangers or not. The employees were all smiles. Eager to describe the cocktails of the day or the drink of your choice! As a distillery you can purchase Amalga gun & more! I definitely recommend stopping by this gem.

A must stop on your visit to Juneau! The owners make you feel very welcome and explain their process using local resources. The gin and whiskey alone are spectacular. I decided on a gin and tonic which was a smooth delicious cocktail

We stopped in here on a soggy Juneau day fresh off the cruise ship. I loved the big copper distillery and and the open seating. Then bartender was friendly and handled the huge influx of people with grace. I had a gin cocktail that was fruity and I can't remember the name (but it was awesome). Nice vibe. Good drinks. All around nice stop!

Got some delicious cocktails at Amalga Distillery, so no complaints! My strawberry spruce bursted with strawberry flavor, but was completely balanced. Mr B enjoyed his grapefruit rosemary gin and tonic too. Loved the ambiance, as we sat in two comfy chairs overlooking the pretty mountain, and some downtown sites. Our bartender was really sweet, and gave us a short pour of their Amalga gin to try. Amalga Distillery is a great spot!

So fun and surprisingly affordable! The gin drinks were fantastic. The space is bright and fun and clean! The service was quick and kind! There wasn't anything that wasn't great about this place! And the best part, I believe my two cocktails were $14 total. $8 for one and $6 for the other. All their drinks were great too. Explore and try something new!

Phenomenal cocktails in a cute cozy environment. The copper still they use to make their delectable gin, is the centerpiece of the room!

LOVE Amalga!! First learned about Amalga when dining in Anchorage. Make sure to stop in every time I'm in Juneau. The menu changes frequently, daily even, so be sure to check it out! Their cocktails are on tap but they add some ingredients like aquafaba to the coffeetini in real time so they still have the classic presentation and flavors of freshly shaken cocktails. Abundant seating and cute gifts and swag in the back.

Enjoying Juneau. Stopped here during our pub crawl. Couple of good cocktails, nice atmosphere. Only had whiskey and gin the day we were there. Good stop if walking around Juneau

    Whiskey with an outstanding view.

Great little place to pop in for a nice whiskey or gin. Friendly staff, cool establishment , and beautiful surroundings. What's not to like? Whiskey was good and reasonably priced too!

I love gin and appreciate anywhere that specializes in gin. This gin is delicious, flavorful, reminiscent of the majestic pines that cover the land here, and packs a punch! I had the classic g&t with house made tonic for the true test and could have drank it all day. I also got the raspberry fizz and it was so refreshing. The big stand out was their rhubarb g&t. The space is beautiful, light and airy great for casual chilling and meet ups. I love the pink bubble lights!!! The canned cocktails are also amazing and as someone who doesn't like beer, I appreciate a grab and go canned option when everyone else in my group is reaching for a can of beer.

So after finding out that the other restaurant was not open at all that day we came back for a second time. Both times staff greeted us and told us to sit where we liked. It was a cool day but wanted to sit outside and watch the people and water. They offer a good selection of beers as well as some cocktails. (Check out the Bloody Mary!) So the first stop we ordered a flight as well as the Blueberry Mojito. The beers were good. The Blueberry Mojito was amazing. Our second stop we ordered the halibut fish and chips and seafood chowder and a beer and another mojito. The fish was cooked perfectly. Not too greasy. The chips were great. The chowder was good. Hot for a cold day and not too thick. Staff were always checking on us and made some great suggestions for the beers and food. We will stop by next time in town. This is one of our favorite places.

Pretty packed with other cruise folks. We just got one order of fish and chips and split it. Menu says 8 ounces of Alaskan halibut in a gluten free batter they make with their lemon lime spruce tip seltzer. Came as two pieces. Batter was crisp and golden brown like it should be. Fish inside was white and flaky. Fries are the hop salt fries. Little cup of tartar and a lemon wedge. The fish was good. I will give them that. But $38 for two pieces of fish and some fries is ridiculously stupid. That is just price gouging for the cruise crowd. Really disappointed we paid that. Service was moderate at best. Nobody was rude. Nobody was all that on it either. And watch out for the birds. They have pigeons walking around on the wood floor inside the building. One was pecking crumbs right by the glass where the kegs are. They take off and flap over the tables too. Feathers and the occasional bird doo doo. There is no way somebody hasnt gotten splattered at some point. Would eat the fish again if it was half the price. Not rushing back at $38.

A lot of places have shrunk their calamari serving size down and serve it with an aioli that isn't always great. The basket of onion rings were crisp and hot with the right texture. I know it's frozen but it's the old fashioned onion rings that many places have changed the breading or undercooked or overcooked. Employees are very nice here. Our server was so nice. She checked on us a few times and refilled our drinks. We also had the one pound Alaskan king crab legs. It was just the way I remembered having it when restaurants used to serve Alaskan king crab legs. They're super fat meaty long legs. It was warmed up and served with lemon and butter. It was just enough for two of us. It probably would not have fed my son. He is a big eater and he would have ordered a steak. If I was hungry or had a crab craving, it might not have been enough for just me. We've also been over eating on a cruise ship for 6 days. We shared the apple crisp ala mode for dessert. It was not crisp but it did have some crumbs thrown on top like a cobbler. It was in a warm sauce and topped with ice cream. It's a cute place with a wharf view. The tables are not on top of each other. They gave us plenty of napkins and a bib too. If I lived in the area, I would be back every month for the calamari & onion rings, and yes the crab legs. The Diet Coke was perfect too, just enough syrup and carbonation. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

From the recommendation of a grizzled cruise staff, my wife & I found ourselves at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar, enjoying a pint and taking in small piece of history. While a few tourists did wander in, most of the patrons seemed local and knew each other and the staff. We watched from the far end of the bar and soaked in the atmosphere while enjoying our beers. Though there was a single acoustic guitarist playing from the stage, the bar was mostly still and quiet, a welcome respite from the throngs of outsiders on the street, veering in and out of the jewelry stores and tacky souvenir shops. Both of us needed this time to recharge, to enjoy a different side of Alaska than we'd seen, to be around normal people again. Does this bar have all the amenities?
