Hello from Juneau Alaska, Jen & I are on vacation aboard the Emerald Princess, we did a Glacier Tour this afternoon and with a bit of hiking & walking around in Juneau we were ready for dinner, many spots to choose from but Tracy's King Crab Shack is what we decided on, so off we went and glad we decided on Tracy's, Jen did the ordering and Wow she did great on her choices for dinner, the food was amazing, the shrimp was delicious as well as the crab cakes, French fries were perfectly cooked & crispy and seasoned just right, the Cole slaw was good as well, our server was nice and helpful with a few questions we had. The restaurant is really set up nicely with plenty of seating inside with outside seating as well, the decor is nice with a good atmosphere for guests to enjoy while dining, it will be a while before we return but for all of you planning a trip to Juneau Alaska in the future be sure to stop by and give Tracy's King Crab Shack a visit and hopefully you'll have the same great experience as we did.

Yummy! Pricey but it was very good, specially if you are in Juneau.. it's a must stop! The bucket is worth it, love their bisque!!

It was not worth it! It is too expensive! The ONE crab leg we received was over cooked and mushy!! The only good things to eat was the bread! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!

Stopped in Juneau on a Celebrity cruise tour. Fast service great customer service. Crab legs were great the soup and crab cakes were just okay. Your in Alaska so the cost was about $90 for the combo i choose and glass of wine. But its all about the experience. Line gets long in the afternoon. But worth it

YUMMMMY! Talk about some of the best bites we've ever had. Being big crab lovers, we knew we had to stop by Tracy's for that Alaskan king crab and were glad we did. All the staff were friendly and very helpful bringing around extra butter and helping people find seating. Make sure you place your order before finding a seat! We were told red king crab season October to April so the legs were flash frozen so we knew we wanted to get some of the fresh Norton sound crab. Although a bit smaller in size the sweetness was absolutely mouthwatering. Will admit these guys are pretty prickly, and will make you work for your bite it's worth every arm wrestle for that meaty morsel. We opted for the crab shack combo with the red king crab which came with 4 crab cakes, and bisque. The bisque was tomato-y and sweet, yummm. The crab cakes were crispy and delicious, we thought the shrimps were large but not something you must try on the menu. We ordered 2lbs of the Norton Sound crab which was delicious and some of the best crab we've had

Food and staff were great! First visit was 1st week in May 2024. Red king crab legs were $75 per pound. We bought 2 lbs (4 legs) for $150 Second visit was 1st week in May 2026 (2 years later) they no longer sell by the pound, only by the piece or by the bucket. We purchased a 6 leg & 2 claw bucket that I estimate is roughly 4 lbs of crab for $590! That is about $150 per lb. 4 star review is due to the price, otherwise a 5 star review.

If you're questioning paying $85/lb for Alaskan King crab.... just DO IT! It's so worth it... I still dream about this crab. That first bite was so gooooood I wish I could eat it again.. and again and again. The best and the largest king crab I've ever had. We walked away from the main port area to go see the whale statue and on the way back we stopped by here and so glad we did instead of going to their original location where the lines were soooo long and it would have been a very long wait. This location I feel like is just as good with more space and less or no wait. Highly recommend!! It is a MUST EAT while you're in Juneau. Please don't miss it!!!!

Line was Super long! But we enjoyed it. Had soup, fries, gold crab and of course the red king crab! They call your name and city and bring it to you after ordering from counter. Classic tourist area but we did enjoy the flavors. My husband's face in the pics should tell you how much he enjoyed it .

Tracy's King Crab was so delicious! I absolutely loved the sauce that came with the crab cakes! There was a hint of smoky bbq flavor. The crab itself was super meaty and sweet. Well worth the money when you're here. The line moves rather quickly and the vibes are definitely all there! I loved the amazing music they played and the open seating is probably an introverts nightmare, but you can try to get your own table in the patio. I love speaking with many different people so the open tables seating was amazing to hear banter and to share amazing memories and tips since everyone is coming off the different cruise ships.

Tracy's king crab was a big tourist recommendation while in Juneau. Honestly, it was so worth it! The crab, crab cakes, bisque, & the whole experience of eating it was so much fun! The interior decor was super cute and really made you feel you were a local in Alaska. Even for it being super busy, the service was quick & the waitress even took time to teach us how to properly crack our crabs. Def stop here on your visit!

It goes fast don't let the line fool you! What can I even say??? I was so skeptical but once I ate here my mind is blown!!!! The music is amazing, love the seating and the food alone is to die for!!!!!!! It is not a tourist trap. It is pricey but I did the combo with gold crab and then a leg portion of snow crab fried fish and fries. The fried shrimp wasn't great but the gold crab was MAGIC and the crab cakes sauce was fire and great to use for dipping!

Delicious. Fresh Alaskan king crab. I personally prefer Cajun butter. But this isn't a Cajun or creole place. Make sure you ask for extra butter. The coleslaw wasn't bad either. Bread was meh.

Ask the Community - Tracy's King Crab Shack

Will they typically sell out by 7pm?

They sell out of various menu items throughout the day.

How late are they open in May?

    yes

How far is it from port?

If arriving by cruise ship, it's minutes away depending on where your ship docks - super close! (I walked there easily with my toddler :)

What is the 2022 opening date?

What months is Tracy's open in 2021?

    May 15

Do they have any alternative for someone who cannot eat shellfish?

Cole slaw and french fries. Oh, and BEER!

Is it possible to buy king crab legs and salmon and ship to my home at area zip code 44056 before you close down on the 30th of September?

Sorry...I don't know the answer. I think you can call them.

Is this place open in March?

I don't think so. Tracy's is right on the cruise ship dock, and they cater primarily to the cruise ship passengers. Alaska cruises run from May - September. They might be open slightly before and after. Their website states they are closed for the… Read more

I ordered a pound of Alaskan Red King Crab for $85; served with garlic rolls and butter. This crab was a test in patience to say the least. Lots of cracking needed to be done and it wasn't easy. My daughter ordered a pound of the Dungeness Snow Crab for $35. We all had a great time sampling local Alaskan seafood at Tracy's. Definitely a highlight of our stop in Juneau.

The restaurant was crowded and loud, which I understand can happen in a popular tourist spot, but the staff seemed completely overwhelmed and uninterested in helping customers. What bothered me most was the service from our waitress, Summer. In my experience, she came across as disrespectful and dismissive the entire time we were there. Simple questions about the menu felt like an inconvenience to her, and the attitude we received made the whole meal uncomfortable. We were rushed while ordering, had long waits for drinks and food, and when we tried to politely ask about the delay, the response felt rude instead of helpful. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth the prices. Some items arrived lukewarm, and parts of our order were incorrect. By the time everything was fixed, the rest of the table had already finished eating. The atmosphere may appeal to tourists looking for the "old saloon" vibe, but customer service should still matter no matter how busy a place is. Overall, this was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I've had in Alaska. Between the poor service, long waits, and disrespectful attitude we experienced from Summer, I wouldn't choose to come back or recommend it to others. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously in the future because the location and concept have a lot of potential.
