Then, I asked for a written policy and they don't have one. Came home and called other optometrists and they give you your pupillary distance free or for a small charge. Zennioptical gives you the PD measuring tool free in the mail. Dr. Crouch's office lost my family of customers. Not for the PD incident, but how rude the staff was and treated me like I was trying to steal information.

I booked a virtual eye exam online for this location. My appointment was for 3:20pm. I got there a few minutes early and got checked in no problem. I waited a little longer than usual to get the first part of testing completed due to another patient that brought her toddler with her to the appointment, but once I got called in the testing room, there were no problems there either! What I do want to call out is my experience once called into the exam room to meet with the doctor. Fantasia was the technician, and I am going to start by saying this: BY NO MEANS TO I MEAN TO BE RUDE OR INSENSITIVE. But the tech had poor body odor, and being stuck in a room with ten door closed for close to an hour was terrible. Fantasia did some pictures of my eyes for the doctor. Once finished, she told me we were looking at a 15 minute + wait time to see the doctor. Apparently the doctors working virtually work for all of the different locations, and the exams are picked up from a queue. I sat in the room waiting with her about 25 minutes before the doctor came on; luckily I brought my book. However, the entire time she was in her phone, talking on her phone, watching reels, etc. which I thought was unprofessional being as though I was 2 feet from her. Also, I don't like how they leave the list of exams and patient names on the screen while you wait. I could see the name of the person in queue behind me. Once the doctor came in, the exam was quick and seamless. It's actually pretty neat how everything can all be done virtually. Check out with Edyah was also great as well! However, I don't think I'd take the virtual route again. I didn't like the process and it took way longer than usual. I was told to get an in-person appointment with the doctor, you have to call to make appointment. All appointments online default to virtual. I'd absolutely recommend this location for an in person exam though.

But when it became apparent I had some kind of "debris particle" stuck in my cornea and no amount of eyewash would rinse it out, Patient First referred me to Dr. Snyder. I was in a lot of pain at the time and Dr. Snyder was able to see me within a couple hours of calling for an appointment. He had to scrape my cornea to clear the debris. It wasn't scary at all because he was totally cool and told me exactly what I could expect. He was really great at taking the time to explain how it would feel and what I could do to get through it. More than the eye poking, I was afraid of the bill because my health insurance doesn't cover any out of pocket medical costs. Dr. Snyder went with me to make sure I paid a reduced rate when I checked out at the front desk. My bill was only $80. What a relief! He also told me he normally would have people come back in for a recheck, but to avoid cost, I only had to return if I was having a problem. I'm not gonna lie, the short recovery time was painful. But I was better after a day and my eyes are happy and healthy again. Dr. Snyder was great. I would definitely go to him again if I have any eye problems.

My wife was referred here after a routine test for eyeglasses revealed some minor abnormalities. That was five or six years ago, my wife has had annual visits since that time. When we first walked in we were immediately greeted and given some paperwork to fill out since it was our first visit. Upon completion of the paperwork we took care of the copay then were directed back to the waiting area.  I appreciated that they made sure we knew where the vending area and coffee areas were located. The place was pretty full and the front staff seemed a little unorganized and chaotic but everything somehow worked.  We left our home without our morning coffee so we ventured to the coffee machine.  Wow!  The coffee machine is amazing, it dispenses everything from regular brewed coffee to espresso to lattes to cappuccino to Chai tea to hot chocolate and more.  My wife got a latte and I got a cappuccino, the coffee was actually very good.  We also enjoyed some tasty complementary cookies.   Having read some reviews which indicated lengthy wait times we settled in but the wait wasn't bad at all.  After maybe 15 minutes we were given some literature and a portable DVD player on which to watch a video explaining glaucoma.  We were only a few minutes into the video when we were escorted to testing area where they ran some tests on my wife's eyes.  After the preliminary tests we resumed watching the video in another waiting area.  Again, we only watched about five minutes until we were taken to the exam room where the doctor would be seeing us.  An assistant asked some questions and prepared us to see the doctor, she was very helpful.  We resumed watching the video during which time the doctor entered the room and introduced herself.  She said she would wait until we finished the video before proceeding because she felt it was important.  After we finished the video we asked a few questions which Dr. Dewundara was happy to answer.  She then proceeded with a thorough examination and more testing, she explained every step of the process and was very polite, friendly and professional throughout our time there.  She showed us test results on the monitor and explained them very well.  She said there was one area that needed further testing so we would need another appointment in a couple of months. We were very impressed with Dr. Dewundara and feel fortunate for my wife to be under her care. My wife has continued to get great care here over the years since this first visit.  The stand-alone building has its own spacious parking lot so there are no parking worries.  Overall we are very pleased with Virginia Eye Consultants. We are impressed with the state-of-the-art facility The wait times can get a little lengthy but the friendly, helpful staff and quality of care we always receive make it well worth the waits. Sometimes, when we are in the area, I think about that coffee machine in the main waiting room and consider stopping in for a cup. So far, I have resisted that urge.

This is my third visit and they have done nothing except the same eye tests with eye chart and tell me how it takes time. My eyes hurt, are terribly irritated and my vision is slipping by the day. Follow up doc told me I need to meet with surgeon on next visit yet today's visit was not with surgeon. In addition, they were running "a minimum" of one hour behind but you can't leave once you check in to run a get a to-go bite. My appt was for 12:40 and I wasn't seen until after 3:10. And lastly, every visit I feel like I'm just a part on an assembly line. Rote verbiage over and over again.
