Food was quite good, but the servers were not. Maybe it was the time of day (or that I showed up in clean breeches on my way to the barn), but my friend and I waited for over 40 minutes for a table when others were seated ahead of us. We asked about the wait and said others had been seated ahead of us without so much of a bat of an eye from the servers. Finally, we were seated and less than a minute after sitting down, a server wants to take our order...we politely say we aren't ready. A few minutes later, we were ready and tried to get our server's attention but were flat out ignored. Then, said server takes orders from the 8-top table next to us, who were seated after us. Low and behold, then the server then graced us with her presence. Hallelujah!! The food was quite good for brunch, they have gluten-free bread & english muffins, and quality ingredients were used. I was so excited to visit this cafe with my family on my birthday while we were in Gig Harbor visiting relatives. I left petty disappointed for a fair number of reasons. Pros: I loved the smoked salmon eggs Benedict (as did my dad), my boyfriend loved his buffalo chicken wrap, and the lattes were awesome. Even now I would love to go back to try many other items on their menu. The view out the patio was spectacular and this cafe is very cute. Fortunately even for my table of six on a gorgeous Sunday, we didn't have to wait for a table (just for them to set one up). Cons: The potato sides were depressingly small. I left just full enough. My brother and his girlfriend are vegans and were disappointed to learn their bread was not vegan and couldn't even have a sandwich (this is of course not a vegan cafe so this isn't necessarily a huge drawback to the place). So instead they both ordered the only thing they could which was a kind of vegetable hash (stir fried vegetables and potatoes). When it got their it was the saddest little plate of food. A toddler eats more for a snack. Back to actually waiting for the food... We arrived when the cafe was fairly empty, but it started to fill up and we patiently waited around while we watched at least 3 tables, who arrived after us, receive their food. When we finally asked the waitress how much longer our food would take she looked extremely irritable and said she put the ticket up and that's all she could do. After several more minutes and we still didn't have our food I walked to the counter to ask a different waitress how much longer and she was nice enough to actually check our ticket and tell us it was just about to come out. To finish what was already a little bit of an irritating and disappointing meal, when the bill came we found they had charged the measly plates of vegetables and potatoes as a breakfast burrito (each plate!). Fortunately they took one of them off the bill, but the waitress could have been more pleasant about it too. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would go again because of the food and view, but I would go with no more than a table of 4, sit at a different waitresses table, and not expect much when customizing orders. read more

The food was excellent! I have tried tO go here many other times and there www a 45 min wait multiple times, went on a Monday and still had a 25 min wait which I thought was a bit crazy. A quiet, spartan cafe nestled at the top of the Harbor. I've been for breakfast many times and have never been disappointed. I've especially enjoyed the eggs benedict. During the week, I've not had to wait for a table but I hear they are packed on the weekends. They have about 8 tables inside and several small tables on the patio that enjoy a spectacular view. Practical notes. This cafe, while charming, isn't especially child friendly. All seating accommodations are tables with chairs - no booths. The tables are spaced fairly closely together and there's no privacy, so, not the place for a romantic rendezvous. However, it's a lovely breakfast spot to relax, read the paper and have breakfast while overlooking the Harbor. I'd recommend stopping by during the week to avoid a wait. read more

Yesterday was my first time going to Devoted Kiss Cafe which is a surprise since my office is right next door. They had done our Christmas party for us last year, but it was after hours and they provided more of appetizers (which were amazing). I wanted to get the full feel for the restaurant. I like the atmosphere in this place. They have a patio for the summer months right out over the water of Gig Harbor. Inside there is a cozy fireplace and they have free WIFI which is wonderful. You can go and eat lunch while you do biz! I like that idea a lot! I had their veggie sandwich which was de-lish! My favorite part was they used hummus for their spread. You can't beat that! My friend had their egg white omelette which she said was very good. I would have given this place more stars if their service would have been a little better. They were very slow to bring our food and my friend ordered gluten free toast that wasn't part of her meal and the chef didn't add it. By time she got her toast her omelette was almost gone. They were very friendly though, just for a lunch place when people need to get in and get out they need to work on their timing. I will definately go back because the food is great! I can't wait to try more things from the menu. read more

Top tip if you're going to dine-in during Covid times is to MAKE A RESERVATION. The reason being that this place can get busy but also they can't racially discriminate against you if they can't see you. My husband and I (both non-whites) drove from Tacoma just to eat at Devoted Kiss. We were walk-ins and did not have a reservation but asked to dine-in. We were told that they couldn't seat us because they had reservations scheduled soon and didn't want to fill the tables. I've worked in the restaurant industry and I got it. We didn't make a fuss and decided to order food to-go instead. After we ordered and were waiting for our food, a white group came in after us, also asking for dine-in seating and they also said they did not have a reservation BUT they were then seated inside. No questions asked. My husband and I were shocked but didn't want to make a scene, we had already ordered and didn't want "special sauce" in our food so we just got our food and left. I just want to warn other BIPOC of this potential experience. Maybe this treatment is a dirty little secret for Gig Harbor and is typical treatment for BIPOC but as someone from Tacoma, message was received loud and clear. read more

I miss the couch by the fireplace but am so glad that Harbor Kitchen has been replaced with a sit down to order cafe with a variety of choices. Prices are quite reasonable for the fresh quality food, friendly, cozy atmosphere and lovely view of the harbor. I have only been there once but am looking forward to the next visit. My friend and I shared a chop salad. (plenty of food for 2 people) Delicious honey mustard dressing. We also ordered 2 different cups of soup sharing tastes. Our favorite? This small-ish breakfast and lunch place on the water in Gig Harbor serves up pretty good breakfast options. The kitchen seems very small, which may explain why the menu is tightly focused. However what they offer seems to be done fairly well. I had standard eggs benedict and the eggs were poached perfectly. The Hollandaise was silky and thick and fell on the less-tangy side of the spectrum. The Ham & Bacon omelet was well made with a delicious mildly-spicy chipotle ranch drizzle on top. The Banana Bread French toast disappeared too fast for me to steal a bite, which is its own type of endorsement. The side of morning potatoes was well-seasoned and well-cooked which is important because they are essentially the only side dish they offer. I was tempted by a couple of the smoked salmon dishes (croissant, benedict, etc.) but for reasons beyond my comprehension a restaurant sitting on the water of the Pacific which serves otherwise-quality breakfast is using farm-raised Atlantic salmon. Blech! (And when I changed my order after the waitress confirmed that it was farm raised and not wild Atlantic she got really snippy.) Our food and initial drinks came out quickly but we had to flag folks down for coffee and water refills. Parking is very limited and the waiting area is small (we did have a brief wait, which is apparently not unusual. It was worth it.). I would have no problem eating here again - I want to try the rumored off-menu biscuits and gravy too. read more

It is a small little restaurant on the north side of town with a staff that is probably the best I have ever encountered and a view looking over the water that is outstanding!!! When you go here, I highly suggest getting the breakfast burrito. It is hands down the best tasting, most full of flavor breakfast burrito you will ever have in your life!!! Devoted Kiss is legit! The girls working are always super friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and although it's hard to stray from the breakfast burrito, I often find myself tempted by the smoked salmon eggs benedict. They have delicious coffee and also offer beer if you're too cool for that. This place gets packed out around brunch time on most days so seating is often limited. That's the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Oh yeah, and the name Devoted Kiss is just a weird name for a cafe. read more

I read reviews, but rarely write one ... but when I read Alan's above, I had to weigh in. My wife and I have been going to Devoted Kiss fairly regularly since the day they opened. We know it to be a great restaraunt and were surprised to learn that Alan seemed less than impressed. Since I had not had the sandwich that Alan commented on, I decided to try it today. The prime rib was tender, the onions INCREDIBLE,the bread was fresh and crusty and the au jus was warm and tasty - Just the way I like it and as I have come to expect of our new, favoriite breakfast and lunch spot. I could not imagine what Alan found to be lacking, until I checked up on some of his other reviews. Turns out Alan ranks DK 2 stars while he ranks such culinary hotspots as Costco and Arby's 5 stars. I guess Alan's palate is more attuned to the kind of highly processed, preservative-laden junk food/fast food fare that those establishements specialize in. Sorry Alan, I know from personal experiend that you won't find that at Devoted Kiss. They specialize in fresh ingredients expertly prepared and served by a friendly and accomodating staff. I'd recommend you limit your dining to the likes of Mickey D's and Burger King. read more

The food here is fantastic! The attitude of the manager and staff is deplorable, rude, and condescending. A mistake in my order was blamed on me (not my mistake), they act rushed and put out by questions or coffee orders, as well as by the line of people waiting who may have questions, a third of the restaurant tables are often empty while they struggle to keep up with the crowd.
