    Dropped off 9 shirts, only got 8 back (the second time this happened to us and we've only been here twice!).

    We recently moved into the neighborhood and were excited to see there was a dry-cleaner within walking distance of our new condo. But walking distance is all this place has going for it. Overview: I have been to this cleaners 2 different times and on each occasion they lost a shirt of mine. In addition, this past time, the lady working there repeatedly told me I was wrong and that she "didn't care" what the receipt said or if I get my shirts back. The details: The first time I dropped off 9 collared shirts on a Monday morning and was told they wouldn't be ready until Friday afternoon. I found it odd that it was going to take that long for what I was asking, but she told me if I wanted it done right, that's how long it would take. Fine. When I went Friday afternoon, one of the shirts still had visible stains on the collar. I was told I needed to wait until Monday, because again, if I wanted it done right, I had to wait. OK, fine. Besides one of the shirts not being clean, I was missing a shirt. I didn't argue because I didn't have the receipt and wanted to double check at home because maybe I was wrong. Sure enough, there were an extra set of stays. Looks like we lost a shirt, we weren't happy, but we could deal with it. I didn't have time to look up a new cleaner and my husband needed his shirts cleaned ASAP so we decided to give this place one more try. WHAT A MISTAKE! We dropped off 9 shirts again on a Saturday. I counted, my husband counted, and the gentleman behind the counter counted (TWICE) and all agreed there were 9 shirts. We held onto the receipt that said we dropped off 9 shirts (which I realized today having a receipt at this place means absolutely nothing). When I picked up the shirts today, there were only 8 shirts! Ok, this is not good, but I would think the owner would take the approach of let's work together to find the shirt or come up with a solution. WRONG! Instead I was told that I only dropped off 8 shirts. Which of course I proceeded to tell her, no, we dropped off 9, your husband counted them twice. She said, well, he counted them again when you left and there were only 8. When again I said this is incorrect, she picked up the phone called her husband and had him tell me over the phone that he counted them again and there were only 8. I asked how did you count 9 twice in front of us, but then when we left you counted 8. Again, I was told I was wrong. When I hung up the phone with her husband, the lady told me that she can tell I'm angry, but I'm wrong, I did not lose any clothing with them. When I decided to leave because clearly I was getting the raw end of the deal here and was sick of being told I was wrong, I asked for my receipt (saying I had 9 shirts) back. She acted like she couldn't find it. When she miraculously did, she said to me, and I quote, "Sure, go ahead and tell all the people in the neighborhood, I don't care, I don't care." Are you kidding me?! YOU DON'T CARE? I have never had such poor customer service in all of my life. I still can't believe a cleaners can lose 2 shirts on two separate occasions and then have the gull to tell me I'm wrong and they don't care. It takes A LOT for me to get upset with a place of business. I usually just let things slide. This was too unbelievable to let go. Do yourself a favor and go to another cleaner. One that is respectful and will give you all of your clothes back!

    Figo is the man. I have him do all my tailoring for suits, dress shirts, etc. He knows modern fits and will give an honest opinion on how things look. The quality of work is very well done. Aside from that, Figo creates an experience for customers. When I come to pick up my finished products there is a cup of fresh-made Turkish coffee. How awesome is that? Be patient with your clothes and give +/- 2 days for when you expect to get them. You won't be disappointed.

The guy kept repeating how he couldn't trust what I was saying like it was a he said/she said between me and the actual company doing the cleaning. 1) Your business is the front facing establishment I am doing business with - this is your responsibility. 2) he sent it back for free, which I was fine with - why the attitude? He made me mad, but it was unnecessary given we had a next step. When I went back to get it, it was almost all out, and he said he would send it back again, but again, it was the attitude. "This is the last time I will send it back for free" like it was my fault it happened - and at that point I'd already made up my mind I wasn't coming back regardless because of how he treats his customers. My husband went to pick up the shirt (it was his) and it was actually all out, but they started telling him how the stain wasn't pointed out the first time and he said that's because it wasn't there when it was brought here. They argued with him saying it was red sauce (no, it wasn't) and then another guy from the back came out swearing at him telling him he was a scam artist. We had arrived at a pretty easy solution, but they upped the tension each time to really piss us off with their attitude. Just be more customer focused!!

    I've only used Star Glo once, so take me with an appropriate grain of salt…read more I brought 8 items for their periodic dry cleaning. It was right before the holidays, so I asked them what day would be good since I wasn't in a hurry. They told me Monday afternoon. Cool, no problem! When I went for pick-up on Monday, I was told all but one of my items were ready. I was told to come back for it tomorrow. So, tomorrow comes and I'm told the final item hasn't been cleaned at all. They wanted my green light to dry clean it (which is prominently displayed on the item's oversized care tag) because they were worried about an aspect of the item cracking or peeling. Look, I've had this item for a decade. It's been dry cleaned multiple times, in two different countries even! There isn't a single indication of cracking or peeling on the part of concern. I was totally baffled that they never bothered contacting me, didn't notify me on Monday and weren't sure if they should dry clean the item I brought to a dry cleaners that clearly says it is a dry clean item on its care tag. If I had been contacted about this before, at least by the Monday I had come to pick it up, I might consider this a sign of Star Glo's attention to detail and would have reflected positively on them. As it stands, waiting until my second visit to pick up my clothing to open the topic felt like my time wasn't being respected. The other pieces of clothing were cleaned just fine, but I'm thinking this won't be a repeat place for me.
