I've been a fan of this place for almost a decade. So, story time. Sometime ago... I love saying that. Check out her comic book. If you know, you know. Anyway, I moved to Logan Square before the explosion of people, and like any great neighborhood, it had its little places that became part of your routine. The bars, the stores, Armitage Produce, which is still one of the best, and, of course, the neighborhood dry cleaner. But New Kenzie Cleaners was never just another dry cleaner to me. It became one of those places that represents the lifeblood of a neighborhood. The gentleman who is always there has consistently been friendly, kind, and personable. He remembers you, treats you well, and most importantly, I've never had an issue with my clothes. Honestly, I wish I had more reasons to use more of his services. Unfortunately, I moved away from Logan Square about three years ago. I tried other cleaners closer to where I live now, but every time, something was missing. I just never got the same feeling or level of service that I get at New Kedzie Cleaners. So now I drive from the South Loop all the way back to Logan Square just to have my clothes cleaned. If that doesn't tell you how much I appreciate this place, I don't know what will. And one last thing: somehow, the prices are still considerably cheaper than what I've found elsewhere in the city. I wear a suit for work everyday, I been coming here for about 4 years now, my suits are always tidy and clean. I also have some high quality vintage leather bags (70s) and got them cleaned here and very well taken care of. I would consider coming here if you live near by. Just had my first experience here, and these folks are great! I'd give them 6 stars if I could. Mauricio was super-helpful and accommodating. I had a 3-piece suit that hadn't been cleaned in a few years and had about a dozen smudges. I dropped it off Thursday evening and needed it Saturday for a wedding, and they had it ready Saturday morning-- cleaned, pressed, smudges removed, for only $16.50! read more

We have been going there for 10 years. The customer service is excellent. They are always there to help you. If you need a quick turn around; they can make it happen. They do great job cleaning, tailoring our garments as well as doing simple shoe repairs. I highly recommend new Kedzie cleaners! read more

I feel pretty lucky to have such a reliable cleaner just down the street. Mom and pop shop. It doesn't matter when you go there, you are always guaranteed to be greeted by a friendly person. Very reasonable turn around time, not too pricey. We started off with just a few shirts and dresses being cleaned, and then my husband took some shirts in for alterations to make them more slim cut and was really pleased with the results. I didn't want to put a lot of money into having my wedding dress cleaned and I didn't have another place I really trusted so I took it there hoping for the best. Anyone who's gotten married can probably vouch that your dress looks like people ate their meals and danced all over your dress the day after the wedding, so they had their work cut out for them on that one, but again, wonderful job. Nice mom and pop cleaners. I have used this cleaners a few times and most recently purchased a Blazer froma Local Salvation Army that had som type of spotting galore over it...I took it in and the woman there took the time to tape out all the stain instances. I'm never in a huge rush to pick up dry cleaning..so I am never really holding a pressure candle over my laundrer (is that a word?!) to get me my items back the same day..some other reviews have differing opinions about this part of the service but I can't speak to that. Anywho...upon return for my problematic blazer, upon review, some of the spotting was still there...I pointed some of the remain instances out and the gentleman there said leave it for a few more days and he'd re-work on it. COOL. I didn't really have anything to lose by this..minus potentially being out of a few extra dollars... Upon pickup the second time around, the gentle brought me out a spotLESS Blazer...and he seemed to be pleased withthe work, along with a voice in the back of the store (it was the woman I initially dropped the jacket off with) stating, "We got them all out!" I still have no idea how she even knew it was me!..but anyway...I've given them my business once more between that blazer drop-off and this review, and will continue to use them as long as I'm in the neighborhood! Highly recommend 'New Kedzie Cleaners' as your cleaners! I always get my garments on time and looking great, and as stated in other comments, flexible and willing to "rush" it, if possible. Customer service is alway great - he's always friendly and greets me by name. Shows he cares to know his customers - always a big plus for me. I get all my clothes tailored or hemmed there. I hate leaving negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but I cannot rely on New Kedzie Cleaners. While they have a good turn around, my biggest hurdle when I walk in is not knowing how much they're going to charge me. They don't have their prices listed, and as a customer, this leaves me uneasy. I want to walk into a business knowing that I'm going to pay the same price every time. When I walk into New Kedzie Cleaners, I never know how much their going to charge me. It's not even that they're over-priced, but I've experienced price discrepancies on different visits. Some days they charge me more for a sweater (regardless of the size), and sometimes they charge me less. I don't like walking into a business not knowing if they are trying to nickel and dime me. I'm disappointed that I'll be on the hunt for a new dry cleaner's. I want to trust this business, but based upon their lack of communication with prices, I'll be seeking my services elsewhere. read more

I'm surprised to see some of the poor reviews here. I've been going to this place for 6-7 years. I am super fussy about who cleans my clothes. I have an unfortunate habit of buying Italian made garments that need careful handling. They have been wonderful with cleaning care. I've also used them to tailor several outfits besides dry cleaning. The owner's tailoring work is impeccable. His wife calls him a magician haha! I agree. Best Cleaners in Logan! When I moved to the neighborhood I was worried that I wouldn't find a great dry cleaners. Two friends suggested New Kenzie Cleaners and I absolutely love them. Although I have to drive there, it's totally worth it. The owner is so friendly and polite. I've never had any problems with my tailoring or dry cleaning there which is such a relief. This place has been there for any of my cloths needs for many years ! I'm supper protective with my cloths as all I buy is brand name clothing ! I work hard to have it and I promise you their is no one else I can trust when it comes to do my alterations of my Gstar, Hugo boss, Gucci, Dsquare and other expensive brands, that's right ! I have been coming to New Kedzie Cleaners for a couple years now. I'm always greeted my name and with friendly service. I recently bought a very expensive tie and accidentally spilled coffee on it. I was so upset at first, but I brought my tie in and it looked good as new! Besides that, there's been times where I need my work shirts cleaned and couldn't wait. I recently brought four coats here to have them cleaned. I haven't had problems before, but this time they came back smelling strongly of musty body odor (not mine) and a flowery chemical smell. I asked to have them re-cleaned and when I got them back the second time they still smelled awful. Their machines must need a good cleaning. Something isn't right. read more

Previously, I had posted that I loved this place. The work is good and the prices are great. However, I recently had an unfortunate experience at New Kedzie Cleaners that I would like to mention. I dropped off several items of clothing to be altered. I was told that the items would be ready on a Monday, and I returned on the following day, Tuesday, to get my clothes. My husband and I were on our way out of the country for an event, and we needed our clothing. When I arrived, one of the pairs of trousers was not altered. The lady explained to me that they were still thinking about how to fix the pants, but she then told me that if I would wait ten minutes, it would be fixed now. I, unfortunately, did not have ten minutes, as I was in a rush, but this conversation left me confused and unsettled. If they had a week to fix the trousers and did not know how, why didn't they call me? Additionally, if they were still thinking about how to fix the trousers, how did they then plan on finishing the task in the next ten minutes. They were not apologetic, and did not seem to mind at all that I was frustrated. I am a regular customer and this left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I suppose if you are not in a hurry and don't care too much about customer service, I would still recommend the place, but I will not be returning. I'm very disappointed. My previous post: I love this place. I brought in a bridesmaid dress that was about three sizes too big and I had less than a week to get it fixed. New Kedzie Cleaners did a beautiful job, but even better than that, it only cost me $35! I have never paid under seventy to get a bridesmaid dress done. I can't wait to go back! I wish that I would have discovered this place years ago. It would have saved me a fortune! read more

This is a little mom and pop cleaners I have been going to for about 3 years. The couple than runs it is quiet and nice, and they speak very little English. They've lost buttons on me twice, but overall they do a good job, and I can't complain. Their prices are more than fair. read more

I am new to the neighborhood (as of Jan '15) and was so happy to find a dry cleaner nearby. The folks who run the place seem nice enough and the prices are on par with other places in the city. However, they score very, very low on the reliability scale. On 5 occasions during this past year, my clothes were not ready for pickup. 3 of those 5 times were very important as they included 2 business trips and 1 week long vacation. Now, I'm not one of those people who expects next day service any always allow a minimum of 2-3 days. On none of these occasions did anyone bother to tell me they were going to be late nor did they offer any kind of goodwill gesture from the poor service. I don't need a lot from my dry cleaning service but the one nonnegotiable item is being on time. I tried coming back because the folks are nice but unfortunately, that doesn't compensate for the one thing I need most. I will not return after this latest mishap and cannot recommend them in good conscience. You'd be better served going elsewhere. read more
