I've been going to DeWeese Design for years for a reason -- they are the BEST. This has never been clearer than the way they've held up under the pandemic. They've kept the salon clean and safe for patrons despite the pandemic AND a move to a new location. Everyone there has been the same warm, friendly, caring people although they must have been incredibly stressed by COVID and the obvious huge hit to their industry during lockdown. Both my daughter and I had our hair done today. Colors and cuts. I have curly hair so I also had the Deva cut done. Felt very safe there and they were practicing all safety measures in regard to COVID. They are very friendly and the place is immaculate! Unfortunately i misdialed when making an appt for a haircut but meant to call DeWeese. So I wasn't on the books when I showed up at what I thought was my appt. They were so understanding and It just so happened Dawn had had a cancellation I showed her a picture of style I wanted as my hair was a mess due to various delay on my part. Dawn offered to do all over color along with haircut and I took her up on it. She also colored and waxed my eyebrows. I left on cloud nine and felt like a new woman. Highly recommend DeWeese! I went in for a color correction. I explained what I had done to my hair (added a warm color at home) and that I wanted to go back to an ash blonde with lighter highlights ALL OVER. I even showed pictures to the stylist. She asked me if I wanted all over color and I said yes -- she came back and started working. She never consulted me on what she was doing. I was shocked when I was turned around to face the mirror to see I have every other highlights. That helped lift color...but did nothing to cool the remaining warm hair or correct the fact that the warm remaining was very uneven. To give the stylist some credit -- I didn't ask for changes at that point. 1) It was too late 2) That place is dark inside at night and I didn't think it was bad at first....just not what I asked for at all. I got home and looked at my hair more closely to see that not only was the top over processed but she did PARTIAL highlights. That means no pony tail! I paid for full highlights! It gets better. When I looked at the top and the sides it was stripes. I looked like a skunk! I ended up getting it fixed elsewhere for less! This salon is trying hard to be nice...but this stylist was subpar at color. I felt nervous when I pulled up and saw the location...should have went with my first instinct and left! Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. Haircut was fine. read more

I wanted to get my hair done, so I called in and luckily they had time and on the same day. I got some highlights/balayage. They told me to go in at a certain time and I showed up but I had to wait an extra 15 minutes. Other than that, it was a very fast process since my hair lightened fast due to it being virgin hair. I liked that it was quick and the hair stylist was very professional and great. I liked the outcome of my hair but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I was happy but also kind of disappointed. Don't get me wrong, my hair looks great but it doesn't look like what I had asked for/envisioned. Overall, good experience and I am very thankful for them letting me come in with such a short notice. read more

Came here to get a DevaCut with Haley and I loved my experienced! She was so enthusiastic and knew what she was talking about. I came to Indiana to visit my mom and noticed that there were a lot of Deva certified stylists. I decided to give DeWeese a call and they put me on the next day with Haley. Also, they're aren't as expensive as other salons, so that was a major plus. I told her how I wanted my hair to look and that's what she gave me. Typically, my hair lacks volume despite it being very curly, but at the end my hair bounced! She also taught me how to use the products and I was so happy that it wasn't 10000 products. It was a simple 3 step routine. Loved it and going to keep coming to Haley whenever I visit my mom. I can't wait for her to get other Deva certifications! Hopefully they give her the opportunity because she is talented. read more

After some consideration, I decided to schedule another appointment with DeWeese. I actually did go to a consultation at another salon that estimated $250 and I am just not willing to pay that much on top of what I've already paid. So this led me back to DeWeese and I talked to the owner, Rita. She was very nice on the phone and I'm scheduled to see another stylist. She made it clear that customer service was very important and said that she'd be happy to have me come back in. Update after second appointment: I had requested Felicia to recolor my hair and she was great. She asked me a lot of questions and showed me swatches to really understand what I wanted which I think is super important with a balayage. She was nice, easy to talk to, kept me informed on the process, and offered advice for follow up care and appointments. If I were only rating Felicia, I'd give 5 stars. However my overall experience with DeWeese is probably closer to 3.5 stars. I was disappointed with the first session and I don't think I was wrong to feel that way especially now that I can compare the results from the first and second session. For my second session I was still charged another $120 + tip and I didn't want to complain because I understand it was a lot of additional time and work by a separate stylist, but it wasn't much of a discount considering I came in for a correction. Probably a good time to mention that the stylist from the first session was there and she didn't say a word to me. Rita had mentioned she would be there and made it sound like she would be working with Felicia to see what I wanted changed but she definitely did not. I don't really mind as I'm terrible in any semi-awkward situation, but I was just expecting her to at least say something because the ignoring tactic made me feel worse about expressing my disappointment the first time. Aaaand I still think my hair is not exactly what I wanted...I think I wanted to go even a bit lighter which I thought would be easy since most of my hair was lightened from the previous appointment. But again, Felicia did a great job and it does look good and more natural and much closer to what I wanted so I'm just going to leave it be. I think had I had Felicia the first time around, I would've been a lot happier with my experience at DeWeese. read more

Not sure what has happened but this is my last time coming here. This time and last I asked for a full highlight and the hair dresser stops at half and walks away... I am willing to pay for what I want why won't they give it to me... Anyone recommend a salon that will give me what I want? My first review was from my first visits years ago. About a month ago, I was desperate for a haircut. I'm not from Indy but I was in the area and my postpartum hair loss was getting out of control. I had long hair and had convinced myself to chop it off because it was all falling out anyway. My hair is the one thing that makes me feel beautiful so it was very hard for me to make this decision. I called DeWeese hoping that they had an opening that night even though it was already 6pm. They told me they would see me in 20 minutes. I was so sad about cutting my hair off but as soon as I walked in, I forgot all about that. Everyone was so friendly and professional. I had to bring my 3 month old baby with me and they didn't mind at all. My stylist was Hailey and she was so kind and did such a wonderful job on my hair. She didn't try to push my to buy products and I had a lot of fun in her chair. I was so worried that I was going to cry through my haircut but she made it so much easier for me. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in town again. read more
