We have never had so many spiders, flying things and strange creepy crawlies in the house. There was a spider in my bed last night. Freshly washed sheets and i get a spider. Im pretty sure a cockroach has taken up residency in our kitchen chandelier. He said he wants to spray inside but, we have to leave the house for 45 minutes, at least. Umm...no. we're not leaving a stranger in our house-alone! What horrible chemical is in your spray? In all our years this has never been an issue with other pest control companies. We also have rat poop and pee on the patio which he told me was from lizards. He was very wrong. I asked him to spray for them. He said "where?". Around the house would be a good start. yet, we never saw him go past the windows. We had fewer problems before we hired Dewey. On top of all that, we have been double billed. We called the office and she said, "that's just how we do it". read more

This review is about Dewey Pest Control but specifically about Augustine, our Pest Control Guy ! - the gentleman who has made all the difference. We heard about Augustine, many years ago, and specifically requested that he work on our house. Augustine is the greatest Pest control guy we have ever had. He is polite, friendly and reliable. When he says he will be there from this time to that time, he MEANS IT ! Since Augustine came onto our property, our insects and animals have been so under control and not an issue. Don't call them for rat control. Their technician Jesus came and spent an hour mostly talking and prositioned traps. He offered no additional knowledge or expertise regarding the subject. He promised to follow up but never did. We went to a second company (Mr. Beez) and their technician told us that Dewey had positioned the traps incorrectly. He too didn't follow up or show any expertise, so we finally found a better company (Arrest). The rat is dead! No thanks to Dewey. read more

I have had Dewey Pest Control at The Springs in Rancho Mirage for monthly service. Unfortunately the exterior spray is ineffective for large pests. Yesterday mid morning I found 3 large pests. They were not slowed down or anything. I am also using Raid inside and it's still not preventing the bugs. read more

I have a sign in my front window, right next to the front door stating, no soliciting. So I was surprised to hear the door bell and a young man wearing a Dewey logo on his shirt. He spoke so softly that I had to open the glass storm door to hear him. He was making a sales pitch to drop my current service provider. I asked do you see the no soliciting sign? He said yes but let me tell you about.... I closed my door. If I wanted cold calling sales personnel I would not have a sign. My apartment complex hired Dewey Pest Control recently, and I have seen an increase in pest activity. Crickets chirping keeps us up at night and there are pavement ants everywhere. I counted just 30 ant mounds from just the parking lot to the managers office. I've seen the technician walk that same path but never does anything about the ants and the activity is getting extremely worse. I called and spoke with the CSR "receptionist" yesterday to give them a heads up and nobody showed up. Somebody's kid or dog with an allergic reaction are going to get hurt by these ants. I have several ant bites on my legs just from walking from my car to my apartment. This is ridiculous! read more

I don't post as much these days but I do use Yelp all the time to research businesses. My dad's friend (Korean non-english speaker) needed help with all sorts of pests that were invading his house in Palms Springs. Of course dad calls me and offers my help for his friend even though I live in OC. Not really what I wanted to do on a Saturday afternoon but how do you say no to dad. In any event service tech comes out and takes care of all his problems and it's been about two a month with no new unwanted visitors. I write this review bc they were extremely kind and patient to a someone who spoke little to no English. The prices were affordable and they solved his problem. I explained a few things over the phone to someone named Danielle and she took care of everything and the service tech used google translate to speak to my father's friend. I don't know how to say "you shouldn't horde junk in your garage" in Korean but thankfully google does. Thx Dewey and Danielle. read more

I used Dewey before and they were always great. Now they not only raised their prices but they hired a salesman that doesn't keep his word. The tech doesn't even know how to get rid of the problems he just sprays. The tech even took water from my house to mix his chemicals.... they never did that before. I have called twice already and no call back yet. Some of the plants in my yard died from the chemicals. That never happened before. Dewey used to be good now all I can say is I am very disappointed. Today the assistant manager came and fixed the issue like a true professional and Juan Castellanos came with him he was a true expert. I am glad they did not let 2 people ruin the business. This place is a joke. I had issues with their online system for a while. I called several times to let them know my issues and no one ever called me back. Every time I called it was a on call center that obviously didn't relay my messages. She even mentioned them having issues with processing payments. They ended up canceling my account and I found out via text that my account was canceled. When I finally spoke to the manager Adrian. He stated I can reinstate in a contract but had to pay a fee. Hold up! You mean to tell me I have to pay a fee because you're staff isn't doing their part on following up with customers? Total joke. read more

These people, at best, are incompetent. At worst, they are scammers. We contracted for rodent control, at a hefty price. They showed up once, set traps, and never returned. Worse, the house was for sale, so we had dead critters, in traps, for all the open houses and showings. They also sold us spray service for our new home, paid in advance. After 2 months, we called to try and find out why they had not returned to check or remove the traps from the old house and to arrange spraying at the new house. Call after call, with apologies, but each time we called back they said "You haven't spoken to us before" and "we have no record of your contract details." In other words, they called us liars. I just spoke with him about a rodent issue (we will do nothing) and he was extremely helpful. As a beekkeeper I am very sensitive to the use of poisons. Yes we are in a pandemic and they probably don't want worker's compensation claims if they go inside a house. However at least off to discount the service 50%. Your are only giving half a service!! We have a contract! You guys don't meet your end of the contract and don't even do 1 thing to meet ONE part of the contract!!! What kind of a company is this???!!! Do you know how many times I had to refund guests and move guest around this past month? Do you know how many guest o had to move today? Do you know how many bad reviews I now have? And how many calls I got today alone?! Including right now?! Your company not only lost me business but the bad experience from guest that I can't get back!!!! I spoke to you guys plenty and you even told me that you will speak with a supervisor and never heard back! All I say Dewey Pest Control from Thousand Palm, they are fraud company.They charge customers credit cards without providing service. Please do not pick ARTURO if you still decide to use Dewey Pest Control. They make you feel like that their customers are liars. They have zero principle how they conduct their business. Even after sending them email confirmation to cancel their service, they will still their customers bills stating that how much they owe. The office staff they do not know what they are doing. They have zero communication within staff. The guy name Jim, he is extremely rude and makes you feel that the customers is lying even though I told him several times that I did not use their services for the last 2 months. He then tells me well at least for 1 month to be fair and I was like WOW. Wonder how this company is still in business. When I called Arturo after talking to Jim, at first he said he did not provide service for the last 2 months. So I did a conference call with Arturo and with one of the office staff, immediately Arturo changed his tone and stated that he called several times and sprayed around the property. Asked the office staff to email me the proof of service and yet to be received. Believe it or not after I hung up the phone, Arturo calls back to apologize, because he knows that he never provided me services for the last 2 months. Been with Dewey since 2010 and never again. Lesson learned. Deweys know how to defraud their customers. Then he had the audacity to ask me to REMOVE the Yelp review and then he will zero out my account or else he will not. Remind you again, I did not use their service for the month of December 2018 and January 2019. Remind you they have my credit card number in their file because I was in auto pay. My question is why they did not charge my credit card if they provided me the service. If my review is costing me $70.00 I rather save their current customers or any future customers if they are considering using Dewey Pest Control from Thousand Palms, CA. While I did like my service technician, I thought there was at least one month we were billed where he didn't actually come, but that isn't even why I'm upset. When I signed up I wasn't told it was a 1 year contract, just that I could cancel at any time if I wasn't happy. I canceled service and not only did they bill me for the month I didn't use service (they bill a month ahead but say it isn't due until you are serviced - I was billed in June, canceled in June, didn't pay for the service because it wasn't performed and got another bill!) but then they added a $75 cancellation fee. That's great that you have a contract and that it was in fine print. When the self-proclaimed son of the owner of the company (who knows if he wasn't or not) told me at my door when I signed up I don't have a contract, I guess it's my bad I didn't read it. I had a 1 year old in my arms crying, I was happy to get rid of the black widows. I don't recommend their services and even though I had referred several friends to them and never got my free month of service, I can guarantee you I wouldn't recommend any more. In fact, I'll be calling those friends and telling them to cancel when their OWN 12 month contract is up. read more
