BEWARE -- Always double-check your invoices before paying. This company claims to follow standard industry practices, but our experience says otherwise. We caught them overcharging an owner on a project we managed, and it's probably not the first time they've done this. Their techs were clocking 3-6 hours per day when, in reality, they were only on-site for 5-10 minutes on several occasions. When asked to explain the hours, nothing could be properly accounted for. The excuse was "portal to portal" -- supposedly covering drive time and other unrelated activities, none of which were documented or made clear. They also like dealing directly with insurance companies, likely because those invoices get less scrutiny. Check your invoices carefully before paying -- or better yet, look elsewhere. Don't be too sold on their promise of handling reconstruction either -- those costs were insanely inflated as well. Protect yourself and your property. Do your homework! read more

I totally recommend this company 100% ! Isac has been a true professional thru this nightmare that myself and a few other business next to me. I have a cafe in Redwood City . Last Monday we had a driver slam her car into Ace hardware. Thankfully no one was seriously injured and no lives were lost. My cafe suffered some damage with smoke and water damage in my office. Isac in his team were on the site literally when first responders arrived . Isac right away introduced himself and let me know right away what is to happened going forward. He assured me that he will do his best to save our restaurant from major damage . I trusted him and he kept his word. He got his team out there as soon as fire department gave the approval. I wanted to provide an update to my last review on Giuliani Construction. I am happy to say that we finally finished our fire reconstruction project, and I am extremely happy with the final product :). Its a lot harder than people realize to find a company that not only knows how to handle fire reconstruction, but also how to deal with insurance companies, and get funding approved as well. The only thing that was an issue with them was the multiple superintendents that I had on the project. That delayed the project a bit. Most of the delays were due to the city asking for so many specific corrections, but I think the multiple superintendents slowed us down a little bit too. However, once we got Som on the job, he was fantastic. He is super quick to get things done, and is very responsive and understanding to any small requests that you have, even after certain tasks have already been completed. The most important thing is having someone that is understanding and willing to cooperate, and he was exactly that! Gaspar was also super helpful, and was great at getting insurance to approve things. I like how he didnt invoice us for things until he saw what insurance approved first. That meant a lot. If I ever work with them again, I would hope to get Som and Gaspar again! I would highly recommend them to anyone with fire rebuilds, or any construction project in general!!! read more

Their understanding of how to deal with fire reconstruction, working with the city, the insurance company and with our adjuster was excellent. Gaspar and Pablo, the two leads on the job were readily available at all times. A fire reconstruction is stressful enough but these guys worked hard to make it as seamless as possible. Onsite team was great. They helped us in our time of need after a fire damaged our building. However trying to get the correct invoice for the correct scope of work and communicating with internal tram(s) has been a nightmare. Only to be insulted because we wanted them to send us a correct invoice for the service we received. I personally don't care how many times the invoice is revised , as long as it's the correct invoice detailing out the correct building and work completed. The last chain of emails took a horrific turn, with threats of legal action and putting on lean on our property if we didn't pay the "wrong" invoice. Even with the project manager implying that I'm in competent. Makes we wonder are you judging that by my last name or the location my business is located to me not understanding? "This is the same issue that he gave us before when we sent him the first round of pictures, he said that those were the neighbors' pictures so then we sent him the other pictures we found now he's saying that those are the neighbors as well, I don't think he knows how to understand. The pictures or invoice. The revised invoice also does not include a tarp."- From Dion I'm sorry sir ... I don't think you know how to do your job. Giuliani Construction & Restoration is hands-down the most unprofessional joke of a company I've ever dealt with, and Matt, Isaac, and Josh made the entire experience feel like dealing with three dudes who have no business calling themselves contractors. They talk smooth when they want your money, then vanish the second they're supposed to actually do the work. Whenever they did show up, it was sloppy, rushed, and half-baked -- the kind of work you look at and instantly know someone cut corners. Asking for updates felt like asking for a favor, because all three of them get defensive, irritated, and start throwing excuses instead of solutions. There's zero pride, zero accountability, and zero respect from these guys. Homeowner beware! Agree with prior 1-star reviews - I went with Giuliani construction because they came recommended by my building management when I had water damage. Communication and customer service is definitely not a priority of this company. They were not timely in their responses and communication, with very poor follow-through, particularly with my insurance company. My project took 10 months from start of mitigation work to finish and the installation of new flooring for an tiny apartment. 10 months!! They showed up unannounced to do the work and when my job superintendent, Daniel, would call, he NEVER identified himself and where he was calling from, even in voicemails. I never spoke to anyone other than Charles who seemed to be the only semi-responsive employee from the company. They also were not proactive in ordering my desired flooring material, and when it finally came time to schedule the job, told me the material was on back order, and advised me to go with an UGLIER, more dated appearing flooring. I ended up having to secure my desired flooring material from ANOTHER vendor on my own. See pictures attached for poor quality of craftsmanship, including paint splatters on new flooring, improperly measured door transitions, poor attention to detail and sloppy painting and finish work. I hate writing reviews like these and I always hesitate because the majority of the time, I like to support companies. But if I can save someone else from the stress of dealing with people from Giuliani's who really are in the business of making money off of your tragedy then maybe I can help you guys out by saving you the trouble. It all started on October 17, 2019 when I had a fire at my place. My bottom floor was flooded out from water that the fire fighters used to hose down the unit next to mine. Since we had no prior experience dealing with fires, we had no idea what to do. Junior from Giuliani's Construction came out to talk to my Dad and I about what they could do to start the recovery process. He had us sign a contract that night since my place was not livable. That same night, his crew came out with a generator put in place to have my refrigerator items saved and also serve as electricity for the heaters/ dryers that were put inside my unit. The purpose of the heaters and dryers was to dry up the water that had flooded on the bottom floor and then also heat up the walls that were soaked up as well. I should have noticed the inconsistencies that first night after talking to Junior. He said 1) It would only take 2 hours for his crew to finish up the work of installing the generators and putting in the heaters/ dryers. 2) He would text me when the crew was done with the work for the night. Since I could only grab my valuables and a change of clothes, I had to go back later that evening to grab a few more things. I went back around 10pm and talked to the crew onsite. When I asked them what time they would be done with the work that night, they said around 2am. I had my bf with me and Junior said it would only be 2 hours at the most. According to the on site crew, it was going to be double that time and more. Secondly, Junior promised that he would text me once the crew left that night. I never got a text that night to confirm that the crew left. This should have clued me in as to what I had coming at me in the next few weeks. When the next crew came into my place on a Saturday to assess the fire and smoke damage, I wanted to make sure that I was there since the majority of my belongings were still in the house. When I had to step out to run an errand, I came back to find one of the crew members in my master bedroom with the doors closed. Mind you, all of my stuff was still the room-- clothes, personal items, furniture, etc. When I walked upstairs and saw that my door was closed, I opened it to find him on the phone arguing with his girlfriend. My first thoughts were: Since when is it okay for a complete stranger to hole himself up in a master bedroom of someone's place other than his own? Nope. Not in my world.. When I confronted Junior about this, he agreed. There is one thing that Junior is good at-- Telling you what you want to hear. Until you point out his inconsistencies and unprofessional behavior. And then it's a different ball game. The last straw was a week later when I came back to find that the generators had been switched off without my knowledge. I walked in and since my refrigerator was plugged into the generator to save what items I could, it was the first thing I checked. When I opened up the doors, everything was now in a pool of juices and whatever else had defrosted. When I called to ask why I wasn't notified so that I could get my stuff out prior, the project manager Veronica said she was not aware that there were still items in the fridge that needed to be taken out. When I talked to Junior, he said that he didn't know the plugs were going to be pulled. At this point, I was furious because no one seemed to know what was going on. Junior then went on to explain how he had been away in Reno for an anniversary with his wife hence why he wasn't on top of the situation. This spelled one thing to me. "Irresponsible." As a customer in this situation, I was just done at this point. Junior promised that he would cover the item losses in the fridge. This basically meant me having to itemize more things on top of what I was doing already with my excel spreadsheet for losses. Before this turns into a novel, I'm going to wrap it up. Bottom line, Junior didn't make good on his word. He never ended up compensating me for the $600+ worth of items in the fridge. I hope this review can help someone else in case they have to go through something as big as a fire or water damage in their house. If you're looking for a restoration company, look elsewhere. Steer clear of these guys. read more

While I was on vacation my toilet trunk had a cruck and and it was water leak in my bathroom and floor under ware flooded. People from Giuliani Construction company fixed the leak and took care of water flood on both floors. They installed dehumidifiers and were there every day checking level of under floor and behind walls during next two weeks. And today they insure me and other tenants that there no more water trapped inside. Special thanks to Jefferson and Billy, who did exception job, and were very professional. P.S. In February of this year, there was a water leak in our building and my unit was flooded. Our association immediately sent out Giuliani Construction & Restoration Company to mitigate the issue. Quickly, the company identified where the water was pooled in my condo and placed drying equipment in my unit. Daily, from Monday to Friday, Giuliani's team came to my unit to measure the amount of water still in my walls and floors. This was done for the four-week mitigation process. Giuliani's team were highly professional, wearing booties and masks in my home and working diligently to monitor the drying process. Project Manager, Claudia Miranda-Luna, was a highly valuable asset in the entire process. Thoughtfully answering questions as needed. I have never gone through something like this and was a "bit traumatized." I found Claudia's thoughtfulness and patience in addressing my many questions, a source of confidence and reassurance. Throughout the whole process, every single person on that team was responsive, understanding, knowledgeable and professional. Getting a call from my 93 year old father that his home had caught fire and he was in the driveway with nowhere to go was a kick in the gut for me. The stress of the fire and loss triggered my dad's dementia to kick in to overdrive. I had no idea how to get through all of this this. I felt like I was over my head in how to handle everything. I was very happy with the service that I got from Giuliani during the holidays. I had had some trouble with water leaking from my ceiling and, after having a fiasco with trying to get the HOA approved plumbers out we finally had to get an unapproved plumber to come out and they cut a nice big hole in BEDROOM ceiling (yes, where I sleep). It was a holiday season and they were busy so they said they could schedule the ceiling repair the following week. I called and explained that I had waited for a day just for plumbers and that I had to sleep in the room with the gaping hole. When the Giuliani damage estimator came out he was kind enough to cover and tape up the hole with some materials he had in his truck. I later got a call form Anthony who promised he would get it done (he left a message and said to call him anytime). I called him back at about 7:30 on Friday night and he picked up. He said he would get someone out there Saturday morning if that would be OK. Absolutely! Anyway, I was very happy that he picked up on a Friday night, offered to get someone there by 10:00 AM (then he called back to confirm it) 10:00 AM Saturday Carlos showed up to take care of the gaping hole with his work associate. They were both pleasant and did a GREAT job. I could not even tell that there was a hole in the ceiling. It was perfectly textured and paint matched plus they were very careful to keep things clean while they they were working and they cleaned up carefully wen the job was done. Carlos was professional and went above and beyond. He even filled a hole I had in the kitchen ceiling for me where my handyman had over-cut while installing my light fixture (it was awesome because I was stressing over the hole and it literally took him a couple of minutes and looked great ). I had also asked him if I could just hammer off this counter in my kitchen that I was replacing and he took a crowbar type of tool and popped it off for me in probably 1 minute - more awesome! Long story short - my unpleasant water damage experience turned into a pleasant, productive visit and I met some nice people that followed through as promised, did great work and went above and beyond. Beware is right! They were hired in an emergency to do a board up and temporary fence at my commercial property following a fire. Later, after we were done using the temporary fence, we called them to come pick it up. They failed to come pick up the fencing or inform us that they had not picked it up, and subsequently the fence went missing which they say is our fault. They refused to make a billing adjustment or accept responsibility for their mistake. I would not recommend them and would caution anyone to be extremely careful if you have to deal with them in an emergency. read more

I give Guiliani Construction (GC) my highest recommendation as they are now my go-to general contractor. Their level of professionalism, quality and followthrough exceed that of any general contractor I've used in the past. After falling victim to severe water damage on the bottom floor of my house, I contracted with Giuliani Construction to repair the damage. This turned out to be an excellent decision. Here are the highlights. 1. GC worked directly with my insurance adjuster to correctly assess the damage as the original estimate from the insurance adjuster was far below what was needed to do a proper reconstruction. This resulted in a 3x increase in the assessed damage. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for this as it guaranteed that my house would be reconstructed to its former glory. 2. Once the insurance claim was sorted, the GC team moved fast and mostly stayed on the timeline they laid out. 3. Their workmanship was top notch. I am picky and expect solid workmanship. In every case, their work met or exceeded my expectations and the quality was as good or better than the original construction--and that is saying a lot as my house was built to higher-end standards. 4. The GC personnel and subcontractors were all good and performed quality work. A special shout out to Javier who did the bulk of the finishing and punch list items. His skills and dedication to quality are very noteworthy. 5. As for punch list items (loose ends at the end of the project): This is an area where contractors usually fall down as the last 20% of a project often takes longer to complete than the first 80%. This was not the case with GC. Because of GC's attention to detail during reconstruction, the number of punch list items was very small and they completed them within a day or two. I have used many contractors over the years and have never had this positive of an experience. At the onset of the project, my greatest concern was that I'd never have my beautiful house back--that the reconstruction would result in something less than what I had previous to the damage. Giuliani Construction assured me that would not be the case and my house would end up as good as or better than it was originally...and they delivered. Big time. Five stars, guys. I have used them twice now on two locations, my Apartment Building in Fremont and my home in Mountain View. Both times have been insurance claims, fire damage and restoration (also used them for a small remodel) They always showed up on time, they were very specific in the way they explained every detail of the project and they delivered exactly what they promised. While I haven't had alot of experience dealing with Jr & The Giuliani crew, I would like to share my positive experience w/ thsee guys. Approximately 2 mos ago, my family home of 30 yrs caught fire, due to PG&E powerlines coming down in my yard on a very windy day. It was all but burned completely down & we lost everything! Obviously, it was a very stressful, trying day/ wks, & something which none of us had ever been through before. The fire investigator "ordered" that Giuliani Construction & Contracting (who was already on site) to board the house up in order to keep the looters/ scavengers out of our house. The next day my neighbor told me that the crew that boarded up the house did an impressive job, & were out til 4am the next morning, making sure that our property was secure, even though the fire dept had shattered all our windows, & broken all the doors. I was very thankful for their hard work & dedication. Shortly thereafter I was bombarded by a slew of strangers that wanted to talk to me (& sometimes at me), as well as public adjusters who wanted to pitch me their services. I felt like Jr. did not once do that to me, however. Throughout the process, Jr. has been there , helping me along, guiding me though the entire process, & respecting whatever decisions I should make. Unfortunately, (anyone who knows anybody whose been through a large loss, devastating fire knows all too well) the demolition/ contracting/ construction/ rebuilding process is moving at what seems like a snail's pace, but that is due in no part to Jr., or his crew. Sadly, that's just how the insurance companies operate. I have no idea when the rebuilding process will actually begin. The demolition hasn't even begun yet, & its been almost 2 mos now. So, I haven't had much opportunity yet to work w/ Jr. in regards to the contracting, but I can honestly say that he has been a great help so far, & 1 of the few bright spots throughout this trying process. I would recommend at least talking to Jr., if not working w/ his team to anyone who has this terrible tragedy occur in their lives. He remained prompt, personable, wasted no time and knows how to behave in someone's home. Kitchen Remodel - the hard way. We found a cabinetmaker who could do what we wanted at the price we wanted. He recommended Giuliani construction to do the remodel/install the cabinets. Advantages: Good-sized company, with their own electricians, plumbers, painters, etc. All their employees were great - super friendly and helpful. But their supervisor seemed preoccupied and therefore there were unnecessary delays. We even had to call to ask for the bill, and even then it was majorly incorrect. But yes, a good company. read more
