    Veggie potstickers

Ordered a quick lunch today between my clients. The veggie dumplings and miso sounded good. This is my first time having the dumplings and they are so good! Very flavorful and were fried for a little extra crunch. The miso was hot, full of seaweed and tofu. I enjoyed the shitake mushrooms in the soup. Service is always fast and friendly! I appreciate how quick they are getting the food prepared. We sometimes don't always have a lot of time to eat. It's always so chill in there. Such a easy going vibe. It's a nice change of pace for me when I go there. Great place for a quick but tasty lunch.

Do you love gas station sushi but want to pay more for it? Do you enjoy sushi made from playdough and your toddler's goldfish that mysteriously went missing from its tank two months ago? Do you ever wonder what it's like to lick the inside of a Walmart Super-center aquarium? Then this is the place for you! Introducing Dharma, the hip convenience store style "sushi" restaurant that may or may not have you wondering just what unforgivable sin you committed that led you to this punishment. The consistency and quality of the fish was comparable to a thawed can of freezer burned Fancy Feast. If you liked sushi before, you won't now. Fear not friends for I have created a hack to save you money without sacrificing the experience of Dharma: Make the same thing at home by using watered down Great Value mayo, food bank expired canned tuna, sprinkle with a little bit of crippling regret and voilà! Stuff that in a paper towel roll and cut it with a butter knife. You won't know the difference.

inside is fairly clean but the rolls just flat out arent good. You'd be better off with grocery store rolls. the miso soup smelled like urine and wet dog. Don't waste your time or money

Not sure why everyone is hating, but I've enjoyed this place for about 6 years now, back to when they were at a different location. No, it's not gourmet sushi, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd find a different place. However, I'm a broke college student now and like having cheap, good sushi, so I come here. The atmosphere is really nice and they always play good music. There are plants everywhere and lots of windows, as well as seating outside. The wait on food isn't long at all, and the sushi is good for the price. They have little kiosks that you order at and also fridges that you grab your own drink from; this is amazing if you're an introvert like me and hate ordering food. I would give it a chance if you're having a late night craving for some sushi or want a chill place to get food with friends or alone.

This place is a quick and no frills spot with handful of menu items. You order and pay on a monitor by choosing your options and grab your food when your name is called. The apocalypse roll was quite good but it wasn't anything special. It was quick and efficient. Good for a quick sushi fix.

My friend and I went for a hike and came downtown starving for lunch! We agreed sushi sounded good, this was the first place we saw. The place is cute with ample seating (indoor and outdoor). You place your order on an iPod and the food is brought out pretty quickly. Sushi rolls They different and large, a lot of rice. But, they were good. Definitely not sushi in the traditional sense. We had two rolls, which was more than enough. 1/2 curry bowl Unfortunately this didn't have much flavor. Not much of a curry taste at The 1/2 size portion was generous. We were happy we didn't get a full size. Overall, for a quick & cheap bite, this place isn't a bad choice.

The shrimp was inedible. The sauces are gross. I don't know if it was an off day but by far the worst sushi that we have had.

My sister and I showed up first. We got sat at a round table and chilled until the rest of our party showed up. After everyone got there, we all checked out the menu. There wasn't a real organized system between the employees that served our table. It was a reservation for 5 but only 2 menus and 2 waters were initially dropped off. After everyone got there, 2 more waters were brought out but not the 5th glass that was missing. Then we got an over abundance of menus when we just needed a couple more. It was a rough start. We finally got to order appetizers and dinner. I got the Asparagus Delight with extra chicken. My sister ordered Pad See Ew. My cousin got the Khao Soi with rice noodles. The two other prom moms got General's chicken and a sushi roll. For starters we got the fried green beans and calamari. The wait on the appetizers seemed long. Nothing is more annoying than not being able to enjoy your starter cause your dinner was right behind it. 2 fried green beans were brought out. We had to call the server and ask about the calamari. We were confused if that was 1 appetizer of fried green beans split into 2 plates for easier sharing or if it was actually 2 orders. Well, it was 2 orders so the extra portion was taken back. The calamari did come out shortly but was fast considering we waited so long initially for the appetizers come out. I didn't try the appetizers but from what was being said the fried green beans were good and they have had better calamari. As fast as that calamari came out, I'm sure it was prepared quickly. Not taking the normal time to actually prepare something that could turn into rubber if it's not cooked properly. Dinner came out shortly. My dish looked really good. There was bright green pieces of asparagus. A few hearty chunks of cauliflower. I noticed quite a few shrimp and a decent amount of chicken. My dish was good. The veggies were fresh and crispy. The sauce was on the sweeter side but still tasted good. The shrimp was tender but did have a fishy scent to them. The chicken could have been velveted. It was white meat and we all know white meat can lean towards the drier side. I think velveting could have fixed that. I did ask for extra chicken and in all honesty I don't think I really got the extra I had ordered. Service was decent. The timing of the appetizers and food could be worked on. Some communication between employees would have been nice for more organization. I came here for lunch and wasn't impressed with portion sizes and I will have to say I wasn't impressed with the dinner portion either. It's cool that I got to come back and vibe with my family tonight. It was busy so it's great to see that people are out supporting their local Asian restaurant. I unfortunately have such a high bar set from my family and growing up in this industry. I really wish this place would have met my expectations the second time around.

The vibe from the waitress told us she didn't want to be there. We were barely greeted and shown a table to sit down at. We barely had seen the menu when she came by and asked us about drinks and appetizers. We asked for two glasses of ice tea and said we needed more time to look at the menu. When she came back to take our order, we still hadn't received our ice teas. She even brought us our cups of soup before the teas. Since we weren't provided water when we sat down, we waited 15 minutes to get the teas. My wife ordered a sweet and sour chicken dish and I ordered Kung pan chicken. When they arrived, they looked almost identical: deep-fried chicken in a sweet sauce. Only Kristy's dish had some slices of bell pepper, while mine had a piece of raw broccoli and some dried chiles. Tasting mine, it was definitely sweet and sour. When the waitress came around I asked if that dish was really Kung pao chicken and she assured me it was. I said the sauce was sweet and the chicken was deep-fried and was unlike any Kung pan chicken I'd ever had. She told me she would trade it out, although I was unsure what she was going to replace it with, since she had insisted that what I had received truly was Kung pao chicken. She returned a few minutes later and said the chef had made a mistake and was making the correct dish for me. It came out and was fine. But what bothered me is the server just assumed she had brought me the proper dish to begin with. If she had simply looked at it and agreed it looked nearly identical to Kristy's sweet and sour dish, she would have easily concluded a mistake had been made. Which I would have understood. Instead, she didn't believe my explanation of why it was the wrong dish. If I was the chef in the kitchen, I would have brought the corrected dish out to the customer myself and apologized personally. He took the easy way out by putting it on his waitress. This is a restaurant we love and have spoken to the owner before. We will go there again, but this was a very disappointing experience.

Days later, the city condemned the entire building, saying that a seemingly never-ending project by the building's owner to replace a basement floor had rendered the building unsafe. What had been expected to be a two-month closure has lingered for nearly two years as the building owner and the city have fought in court to get the building made safe again. As a result, Mai Thai, which had operated in the Union Block for 20 years has been largely homeless for nearly two years. They reopened at the kitchen of the defunct Crave delivery service in Meridian, a ghost kitchen concept, offering takeout and delivery far from the restaurant's Boise base. In early August, Mai Thai opened at a Boise ghost kitchen, only it's owner Billy Pothikamjorn and his staff running the place, not contacted workers with no ties to the actual restaurant. Mai Thai was located close to our home in Boise's West End and its new location is even closer. It's located in the West End Food Co. on Main Street. We ordered Hat Yai fried chicken, street food from Thailand topped with crispy shallots and served with yellow curry, roti and ginger rice. I had drunken noodles and Kristy and I shared an order of paratha a type of roti bread) with Japanese pumpkin green curry. Everything was excellent. Pothikamjorn took my order and prepared the food, so I knew it was going to have the same quality as when they were in their downtown location. Service is mostly restricted to takeout and free delivery if you live within a six-mile radius. There's a few tables outside, but it's on the sunny side of the street and during the hot summer likely isn't too inviting. I'm glad to see Billy and his crew back in Boise. They were among the restaurants that sustained us during Covid with their home delivery so we're happy they've persevered despite the troubles at their former location.
