My friends and I stopped by this cute little spot for a light breakfast, and it was such a great find. The space is cozy and beautifully decorated with Day of the Dead-themed details, which gives it a really unique and welcoming vibe. The cashier (who was also the barista) was nice and suggested his favorites. We ordered coffee, a couple of pastries, and a few hot sandwiches, and everything was a solid choice. The cold brew was great even just black, and my friends loved their horchata latte and mazapán latte -- both decaf and both delicious. They also have a nice patio where you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. Overall, a really lovely spot and definitely somewhere I'd come back to again!

Not your basic coffee shop, with great tasting coffee! The Mexican mocha 10/10, not too sweet, just perfect. Egg, bacon, cheese panini 10/10 Service was great, 1 person doing everything, but she was handling everything well. Great decor, plenty of seating

Día Del Café celebrates coffee all-year round although the name is in honor of International Coffee Day, which is usually celebrated on October 1st. I luuuv this shop's vibrant Mexican-themed decor and cool...chill cultural vibes. I think it's awesome that I get to interact with Tony, the owner, when I'm there...he's super duper friendly. It's rare to experience this at other businesses. I can tell he's really passionate and proud of his café. A BIG THANK YOU for your warm hospitality! The food/drink and service are always EXCELLENT. My positive experiences keep me coming back to the coolest coffee shop in San Diego. For coffee days, definitely a MUST-GO Yelp Community!! Highly recommended!!!

Super local coffee shop that reminds me of Mexico. I got the miel de canela iced and it was amazing. My boyfriend ordered his go to vanilla latte and he was impressed on how spot on they made it! Sat outside and enjoyed it in the shade, perfect start to a Sunday! Will definitely be coming back.

I had an iced almond milk latte (unsweetened) was tasty. The horchata latte looked tempting! The barista (unsure if he was the owner) was extremely warm, welcoming and kind. The service alone will make me come back. He even offered to add a photo of my dog who is about to pass on the ofrenda (alter). This is a welcoming little neighborhood coffee shop. They had a little networking event going on which was cool.

Cute coffee shop. Has a day of the dead theme. Decorated so beautifully inside. Has plenty of room to sit and drink your coffee outside or inside. They do offer paninis and pan dulce to accompany your coffee. They do have street parking and it's located on a busy street. Music was nice. Paid around 20 bucks for a horchata latte and panini. But was well worth it!! It is a little tucked away so keep an eye out!! The gentleman working was so nice and quick to put the orders out. I recommend the paninis!! They do have a soyrizo option as well as turkey.

With plenty of options of where to grab coffee in North Park and University Heights, I've been meaning to try out Dia Del Cafe. Located on Adam, they have a unique aesthetic and plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The menu had lots to pick from, especially the lattes. Opted for the cold brew with horchata, which was great to cool down on a sunny day. Will be back for sure!

Día del Café is one of those rare spots that still feels real. One of the last coffee shops in town that's truly run and operated by the owner, and you can feel that care in everything they do. The quality is great, the prices are affordable, and the shop proudly pays tribute to Tony's Mexican roots in the best way. Tony is the kind of owner you wish more coffee shops had present, passionate, and full of soul. This place isn't trying to be trendy, it's just genuinely good. Highly recommend stopping by for a solid Americano and some pan dulce. Simple, authentic, and done right.

I was selling my art in front of Whiskers & Wine Cat Cafe during the Taste of Adams, I grabbed two drinks from the coffee shop across the street - Dia Del Cafe. I had their coffee several times, I quite like this place. This time, I tried a new one - Mazapan Coffee, it is so good, it really reminds me of their peanut candy, super nice, it has peanut pieces inside. I also tried their signature horchata latte before, very nice as well. My husband had a cold brew, it's strong, bold and tasty! The staff is very friendly and the shop is cute.

Great spot. Tony, Patsy, and the rest of the staff are always so nice and friendly. The coffee and tea are always so delicious. They have great hot, pressed sandwiches. Really good pastry and other delicious sweets. Cool spot to grab a lift me up.

Cute cafe! Love the decorations. It was a nice environment to work for a while waiting for my car's service to be done down the street. Coffee was pretty good. I look forward to trying the pastries next time

Location, service and vibes! Parking was surprisingly easy for a Saturday @9am. Horchata latte is delicious. Ordered La Puerca panini and will be making this a regular order going forward. Freya and I can't wait to come back . Also the BEST customer service they are just so kind and sweet.

Passed by Dia Del Cafe a billion times, but finally sat down this week for a bit of lunch and work at this cool little Adams Avenue Cafe. Awesomely colorful, Mexican-themed and a chill place to get coffee and a panini. I had the La Tocineta, a stunningly flavorful Bacon, Egg and Cheese panini, and it was superb. Good vibes, great wi-fi and some quality indoor and outdoor seating here. Stop in if you're looking for a sweet neighborhood place to hang out on Adams.

So I made the trek over. Heads up: there's construction nearby, so parking was a struggle. Unfortunately, the visit ended up being a bit of a letdown. First off, they didn't have ice. I like my morning drinks iced, and I still ordered the bibingka latte, but it came without ice -- I ended up having to grab some from another restaurant since my work doesn't have a fridge. I was also excited for the longanisa sandwich, but they didn't have any hot sandwiches. What they did have was cheese rolls, a guava-filled ensaymada, and pandesal. The pastries were frozen, so he had to warm them up, which took a while. On the drink, I'd give it a 2.5/5. It was OK, but not something I'd order again. It was a balance of sweet and savory, with hints of rice flour and coconut milk -- but even ordering it less sweet, it still came out too sweet for me. The pastries were also just OK. My favorite of the bunch was the ensaymada. I really wanted to love this place given the concept, but between the missing ice, no hot sandwiches, and the frozen pastries, it didn't quite come together this visit.

The drink was very silky at first, but that's about all it had going for it. I even went home and tried to modify it by adding cold brew, cream and honey and even sea salt to cut the flavor away, but the medicinal herbal flavors were just too strong.
