It is a bit hotter than the inside, but that's because it has more sunlight hitting the room. For the wine tasting, we got one white and three reds. Makes sense since we were in Paso and they're famous for their big bold reds. I did enjoy their cabernet sauvignon the most in the tasting, however the puors were less than an oz, which was just enough to get a sip in. I was disappointed in that especially as a potential buyer looking to get understand the wine a bit more than a two sipper. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting of four wines with a very miniscule tasting pours was around $40.

Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

There's not a ton of flash which some high end wineries use disguise mixed quality of wine. You'd be comfortable here dressed up or in sweats. Justin, the tasting room lead, is knowledgeable but far from snooty. On a quiet weekday afternoon, he spent a long time with us -- we explored a wide range of whites and red (and one rose). Some of our favorites: Chardonnay Napa Valley, Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard Carneros (I don't drink Chards and really enjoyed this one), Cabernet Angels Vista, Cabernet Lameraux. Yes some of the wine is expensive but they have something for everyone.

After that, everything was fantastic. I love that Justin offers this tasting room separate from their main winery, which is several miles away. Having a location right in the downtown Paso Robles square is so convenient, especially being surrounded by shops and restaurants. I also really loved the setup with tables to sit at versus standing at a bar. They offer wine by the glass as well as different tasting flight options, and they also serve small bites. We heard there are different menus depending on the day, which is a nice touch. Our server greeted us quickly, brought water right away, and got our first tasting to us fast. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and did an excellent job explaining each one. Since we were in a bit of a hurry to catch a flight, she kindly brought all of our tastings out at once, clearly labeled, walked us through them, and let us enjoy at our own pace. I heard him mention this tasting room in downtown Paso to a couple sitting a few seats down, but never got there, opting for other "larger" wineries. However, since walking through the door in June 2025, I feel Bushong is one of the best Paso Robles has to offer and really like what Jason says, "We're not focused on making more and more, but making better and better." The tasting room is located half a block off the square at 12th St & Spring St. a very easy walk across Spring, if you are visiting other tasting rooms in town. Jason, the winemaker and Mike, mister "does everything else" serve up some great wines! Walking through the door it feels as if you are walking into someone's living room. The wall opposite the entrance is a wall full of vinyl (that's records, Gen Z). Willing to spin whatever you are in the mood to listen to. The wine names are all music related, as are the labels. Specializing in red blends, Jason does an excellent job getting the most out of each varietal used to create a symphony of flavor in each bottle. The tasting run $25 per person, but is waved with the purchase of two bottles. You taste your way through the lighter offerings, a white and rose before moving on to the red blends and possible the 23 year old cream sherry. So lovely! Everything he bottles has been excellent. I've been very impressed with the quality considering the size of his boutique winery, but really becoming a fan of these smaller operations because of what they produce time after time. When in Paso, make a reservation with Jason or Mike and get into Bushong. Some of the best wine I have tasted in Paso. I highly recommend it!

I am so very happy that Diablo Paso has moved to a stunning new location! I have always been a fan of Enrique and Nora's wonderful Spanish varietals, a rarity when you really look into it in the Paso Robles AVAs. A few of my favorites are the La Gloria Dulce Albariño, the El Macho, with a healthy percentage of Graciano, as well as the Tempranillo! Their tasting room is accommodating, close to the heart of the wonderful restaurants in Paso, and they have always been more than accommodating! Amazing place the lady behind the bar was so welcoming, she took time to explain the tasting menu she even showed us a beautiful custom made Spanish wine map that they have on display behind the bar to show their customers the region of each wine they produce amazing idea! My goal on this trip was to find some of the wineries that may not get as much traffic because they are off the road a ways. Turley has made a business out of buying up old vine Zinfendel crops either the entire winery or just buying the grapes, and bottling them. Their tasting area is very nice - open with umbrellas over the top. Tables are nice and stable, and the wine offerings were interested and all Zinfendel based. The staff was attentive, and provided water and a dump cup which is greatly appreciated. They operate on a mailing list basis - you can sign up, and if you see something you like, you can order it and they will send it to you. All the wines are from grapes they buy from vineyards, but ALL the wine is in Turley bottles. They aren't offering other firms wines, but when you look at the wine menu, you might be confused into thinking they are since they name the winery the grapes came from. There is a nice fountain, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. Parking is good, and they even offer EV charging while you sip.

The tasting is done standing at the bar but it is a very generous tasting where you can try up to 8 wines for $25, and the tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle that costs at least $25. Thankfully, their wines were excellent and I ended up buying several to take home with me. The most expensive one was about $48, so the tasting fees were easily waived. They also have a wine club and it is an excellent deal, and they ship all over the country!
