Kevin is the man! First time, Kevin was busy with other calls, but still came at the end of his workday to temporarily fix our main shutoff value (no charge). We had no running water until he came. He came back a few days later to replace the shutoff valve. Final price was $200 less than one "big name" company. Thankfully, my neighbor had a similar shutoff valve issue and he recommended I call Kevin. Second time, Kevin replaced some water lines and fittings in the baths. I consider myself a handy DIY, but some things are just better left to the pros...or Kevin! I don't know how many trips I took to Homedepot to find the right/compatible parts. Kevin uses top of the line products. I'm fine paying an extra $1-$2 on parts now, just to have the peace of mind that my floors won't flood in the near future. Kevin fit us into his packed schedule today after our tenant called saying his shower wasn't draining and water was oozing from the bottom of the toilet (gross!). No only did Kevin find and clear the blockage in the sewer line, he replaced the seal and bolts on the toilet and also discovered our shut off was not working. My water heater was done on Sunday, June 28, 2020. A friend recommend Kevin-Diablo Rooter. I called Kevin about 11:00 AM on Sunday. I expected to leave a message and he'd return my call on Monday, since it was Sunday. I left a message and he called me right back. I told him the problem and he said he was on at a job at that moment and he would come by my house later that afternoon to assess the situation. He showed up at 2:30 PM. We both knew I needed a new water heater. He said he'd start working on the project right then and return Monday morning to install the water heater. After working on the project 90 mins to 2 hours, he said he would finish the project that day. He went back to his house, obtained a water heater, and was back at my house lickety split. He installed the new water heater and the job was complete within 3 1/2 - 4 hours. What struck me about Kevin, the solo operator of the company, is he's very polite and professional. He coninually called me "Miss" on the phone and when he came to my house. I told him to call me by my first name. He continued to call me "Miss." lol! He did great work in a short amount of time. Kevin is all about the customer. He's Johnny on the spot to provide a great service at a fair and reasonable price. Ethical, professional, nice and just an all around good guy. We are very happy with Kevin and the service he provides. We have needed him about 3 times and unfortunately, this included twice in the past week. Kevin is responsive and returns calls promptly. He also is able to understand what is urgent vs not urgent, and makes every effort to arrive in a timely manner or at least give you a heads up when he is coming. The water main broke to our house. It was a chaotic situation. In addition to having this turned off, we needed someone to fix it. The main water source was turned off quickly, but Kevin responded within 10 minutes of calling and showed about 45 minutes later to fix the broken valve. The situation turned out in the best way possible and largely in part to Kevin. I would recommend his services any time and also would call him again with any plumbing issues. read more

Having to call a plumber on a Sunday is never a good thing, but Kevin made it a not so painful experience. What I thought was a stopped up toilet Saturday afternoon, I determined to be slow drainage in the sewer lines by Saturday night. I decided to give Diablo Rooter a try based on the Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. Kevin answered the phone when I called. I explained the problem to him and he said he was on a job at the moment but would call when he was on his way. If there is an award for communication, his guy deserves one! He called me back, very apologetic that he had forgotten that he had to fix a leak in a sink before getting to me. Big businesses take note! That is how you treat your customers! Kevin was here within two hours of the first call I made... on a Sunday! When he got here he was courteous, knowledgeable, and not out to make an extra buck on unnecessary services. My husband really appreciated that Kevin was willing to come out here virtually at the last minute instead of blowing us off like many companies tend to do. Kevin is really the best and most honest plumber I have met. My main line was backed up a few months ago so I called My usual handyman and he gave me Kevin's number but when I called Kevin he was booked for the rest of the week. I ended up using with another company. Kevin called me later that evening to make sure I got the job taken care of. We talked for a few minutes and when I mentioned the emergency cost and the fact that the company could not find the line in front of the house Kevin came by the next day free of charge to show me where it was so I would not have to pay that price again. Last week we had our above ground pool drained and the pool man ran the drain line to that drain. Later that day our lines were backed up so I called Kevin. He came out and seen that the line that was used for draining the pool was too far in the drain and that's what caused the line to back up. He removed it and didn't charge a penny. I also had him look at my garbage disposal that was making a very loud noise and he was able to replace same day at a very reasonable and fair price in less that an hour. Had clogged shower and tub drain one evening. Used Drano, which only made the water back up more. Called Kevin who kindly agreed to come out first thing tomorrow morning at 7 AM and quoted me a fair reasonable rate. Overnight the clog cleared and water was flowing as normal. Kevin called the next morning to confirm directions and I informed him the clog had cleared, but I still wanted him to check it out "to be sure". Kevin said I would be wasting my money for him to check it out since there was no problem to troubleshoot, he gave me some tips to avoid future problems and told me call him if the drain gets clogged again. Diablo Rooter (Kevin) has come over to fix a number of plumbing issues at our house, each time he's been fast, friendly, and very professional. The first visit was for a sewer main cleaning that I had been originally told by a different "pipe scoping" company would be impossible without $2500 in preliminary repairs so as to avoid they called "inevitable damage" during cleaning. Kevin told me not to worry and came in, quickly completed the cleaning and did so without trying to sell me additional unnecessary work. The same visit he also repaired a leaking pipe and did both jobs in under an hour. I've never been sold on anything I didn't need. The second visit a year later was to have a tangled mess of dissimilar metal pipes at our exterior shutoff cleaned up, an earthquake gas shutoff installed, and to install a new water heater. Again, all this work was completed very fast and his craftsmanship is excellent. Side note: I see a review here for 3 stars for a referral that Kevin gave. Not sure how you can review someone for a referral. Maybe that guy doesn't understand how yelp works. Read the reviews that actually rate his work. It speaks for itself. Diablo Rooter (Kevin and his assistant, I've met two different ones) has been absolutely wonderful. We have used them whenever we need a plumber (maybe 4 or 5 times over the last 6 years or so). He has fixed our hot water heater, put a valve on a gas line for our stove, unplugged our toilet (who knew a 2 year old could shove a plastic hanger so far!), got hot water running in our shower again, fixed a slow flushing toilet (no more, "If it's yellow let it mellow" people), and has advised us on where to purchase more high quality faucets, so that they don't BREAK in 2 months. Eric and I came home Monday night from vacation to hear gurgling in the toilets, but tried to convince ourselves that they were just in need of a little plunging. Come the next morning, and the denial was over --- toilets were backing up, yet we needed to get to work as quickly as possible following a 7-day break. I went onto Yelp, found the great reviews for Kevin, and called at 7 a.m., leaving a message but not expecting a callback so early.
