We called Kevin after I exhausted my limited knowledge about plumbing. He asked if I comfortable with tools, was able to give me some troubleshooting tips over the phone after hearing what my problem was (mind you he was on his way to somebody else's service call). After giving me a pretty rock solid pointer, he told me to give it a try real quick but to call him right back with how it turned out. I found the issue, put everything back together, and fired it back up to find the appliance working flawlessly. Kevin appreciated the call back and we enjoyed a neighbor who truly helped us out in a tight spot! Kevin was called in the morning along with numerous other plumbing companies. Kevin called back promptly. One person responded with a "sorry I can't talk now" text and one call really increased the price to twice as much as Kevin for a starting price. Not only did Kevin respond quickly, he took his time explaining what might be needed, stating he had a new toilet with him if I needed it. He quoted half as much as the one company. That one company even stated that if I wanted/needed a new toilet, I would have to get it myself and bring it home. Kevin was able to squeeze me in today. He was personable, efficient, and cleaned up after himself. He gave me a bolt cover for free and fixed a hot water problem (some plumber had mixed up the hot water with cold and vise versa in my shower) for no additional cost. Too busy. I first called Kevin for a clogged drain. He was busy, and referred me to his nephew, who is a plumber in business for himself. Nephew came promptly, solved the problem without drama, and presented a very reasonable bill. Next time I called Kevin over a weekend to set up an appointment to take care of several non-urgent projects, including replacing a toilet. He called me right back and said that since my need wasn't urgent, he'd call me during the week. Unfortunately, he never did. From the other reviews here, I'm guessing Kevin is a great plumber. But I suspect that the positive reviews are now bringing him more business than he can handle. read more

Called on Saturday afternoon when we noticed that you kitchen drain was clogged and water would come out of the laundry room when we used the plunger to clear it out. They were on another job but promised to call me back in 30 minutes to give me an ETA. They also mentioned that if I found another plumber available in the meantime, to use them instead. As promised, they called me in 30 minutes and gave me a 60 minute ETA. After they arrived on time, they quickly accessed the situation and got on top of my house roof with a long snake to clear the pipe to the kitchen drain. The cost for the work was more than acceptable, specially considering it occurred on a weekend. I will definitely use their service again if other plumbing issues arise in the future. read more

Nothing but great words for Kevin. I used him about 9 years ago to install an ice maker line in my refrigerator. Back then he came with his father who was assisting him. He recently came to my house to work on my main shut off valve to my house. This time he came with his son and they fixed my valve and replaced a toilet with no issues. Very polite, respectful and upfront when it came to cost. I was not home at the time but my wife was. Instead of telling her some of his concerns and just assuming we wanted it done, he made the effort to have my wife call me at work so he could explain what he found. When he was replacing my copper water line he called me to tell me he found a galvanized piece going into another pipe. Instead of just reconnecting that pipe, he called me to ask me what it was for. I had no idea. He told me it was leading towards my front lawn. I told him it was probably for my sprinkler system and NOT to connect it back because I was going to revamp it. Later that evening after he received payment and left, he called me to tell me he was looking at the piece of galvanized and found out it was connected to a plastic pipe so to look for that piece when I'm redoing my system. Kevin (Diablo Rooter) is extremely conscientious and reliable. Recently he was delayed, for reasons beyond his control, in making a service call to my home. Although I assured him it was not an emergency (a slow link under the kitchen sink), he called me several times to update his expected arrival time, and in the end, he referred the job to his son, Steve (Steve's Plumbing). Steve appeared promptly, fixing the sink leak and, a bonus, a shower valve leak as well in very short order, for a very reasonable fee.
