Not sure why review reads I am in San Fran. I am in Merritt Island, FL. The duct work installer, Dial Duron, has been out to my house 4 times to install new duct work, replacing the 22-year-old duct work that they suggested I remove. Keep in mind, pictures are the work they did, not the 20 year old duct work to be fixed. Also, wet mastic is 2 weeks after applying. I should mention I turned my AC to 82 for a week in order to help mastic dry. Did not work. I was told keeping my air at 72 when I am at home is too cold. Never had an issue in my other Florida homes. -------------- Work done below. -1st time. replaced all of it. -2nd time to fix many mistakes they did installing new duct work. -3rd time to fix many mistakes that still were not fixed from 2nd visit. -4th time they pulled out all feeder duct work they installed the first time and tried to fix the 2nd & 3rd time. Installed new duct work and mixing boxes. Here we are again with similar issues that the last 4 times did not fix. - Cold air is leaking out of the duct work where it meets the boots on many feeds. - The mixing box is leaking air on one that I checked. I will check all of them soon. - Mastic is not drying because air is leaking out of boots. -Moisture is building up and will cause mold. I was told that I may have to install a dehumidifier in the attic to stop the moisture. If this was true, why on the same mixing box some of the duct work is dry and the one next to it is not. See videos and pictures attached. This is in many areas. Not just one. I also am including photos and videos of items they had to come out and fix the 2nd and 3rd time just so you get an idea of what I am so mad about. One video shows dripping water from newly installed duct work. This was dripping on what is my ceiling. Can you imagine what my ceiling would look like if I did not have them come out and fix the mistake they did. This particular problem was solved on 2nd visit. I should have read all the REAL reviews online first before calling them - it's mostly all 1 star reviews and for good reason too. Problem: Toilet leaking at the base and backing up into the tub They charged me $728 to snake the line; claimed the tub was now usable. They had to come back the next day because they said they did not have materials on the truck to repair the toilet leak - evidently it needed a new flange. They came back the next day and charged me $994 to replace the flange. The problem was not resolved; the toilet continued to leak and back up into the tub. I called Dial Duron to inform them the problem was not solved and he had the audacity to offer to come back with a camera and "only charge me 50% of the service fee". At this point, I have zero trust in their ability as plumbers and their credibility is completely shot with me. I contacted a local licensed plumber who came out the next day and within 30 minutes, he pulled up a wad of baby wipes -- the reason for the stoppage. His charged me $250. When I told them what Dial Duron charged me, he was shocked. Most licensed plumbers will charge around $300 +/- for snaking the line and replacing the flange. I don't know what the Dial Duron plumbers were doing, but their claim of resolving the issue was 100% false -- yet they charged me $1722 in total! After several calls with Peter Scelia (Manager), he reluctantly offered to refund me my money. After 7 days, I did receive a full refund for their dishonest scam. Buyer beware!!! read more

Had them come out to replace my central ac unit. they tried to scam my 84 year old grandfather into buying a 15 grand unit when we needed a unit half the size. once i talked to the service rep he settled with me on the correct unit. When he had my grandfather fill out the loan info, the technician asked me to cosign so i obliged. well, he fudged the paperwork quite a lot as the loan was in only my name, and had prices and interest way higher than discussed (i did not find out til 3 months after). The work was done and all was well, for a day. as the unit did not cool the house at all! the thermostat was set to 78 and the house was 90+. They sent out a tech who did god knows what and when he left the unit was pouring water into the garage. another tech came out and just wrapped the leak in foam tubing rather than fixing it. Then finally a third tech came and fixed the leak for real. Once i learned the tech messed up all the loan papers (or lied about it all to us) i tried to call and reach a manager. instead, the tech called me and hurled insults at me about how i was wrong and hes "Not some d*mn crook". After 6 calls i finally reached the manager who said "idk what to tell you its out of our hands" and hung up. 0/10 absolutely miserable people to work with. read more

I had new AC units installed in 2024 and the compressor on west unit (it's a Lennox) has gone out twice within that time (February 2025). Not sure if it's due to Lennox or installation but have had nothing but problems. They are repairing under warranty at no charge but this surely doesn't reimburse me for the inconvenience or provide comfort that the system is going to be around for 10-12 years. Now have to wait again for compressor to arrive to get a new one installed. Maybe this time they will be able to determine the reason behind failure. read more

Had my semi annual inspection and service on 6/17 The tech was not very personable. Tonight 6/30 noticed the inside handler is leaking. Called, call center wanted to send a tech tonight. Tech called didn't want to come. Husband said not an emergency, but call center said no available appointments tomorrow. Tech that called said that wasn't true and he would put it in the system and we'd be contacted tomorrow 7/1. Not as impressed with this company since it consolidated. read more

I liked this company for AC work before it changed hands. Before they seemed honest and Cost effective so I went with them for yearly maintenance. The first visit I was given an estimate for an entire new system for thousands of dollars and my current AC was working. My second maintenance was $300 for refrigerant and a capacitor. I didn't see the old part and had told the tech my AC was working fine. I don't like to write negative reviews but I just feel it's all about the money with them. read more

My "response" to this company..... The technician showed up not ready to work, all he did the whole time was walk around with an electronic pad and did not even get his hands dirty trying to see what the problem was. I explained to him that his same company had serviced this one drain from the washing machine in the garage, and because I had built the house and knew where the line went that what he needed to do was run a snake through the vent in the roof which is easily accesible as it is a one story bldg with a low pitch. I was very friendly to him as I explained everything. He then proceeded to punch information on his pad and informed me without even trying anything that the bill would be $672. which is atrocious and outrageous as I had previously paid for this same service before from this company for $158. I asked why the heck for such a price increase of close to over 300% since last time? And his answer was that basically the company was under new ownership and they needed to make money. I told him that I would get someone else to do the job at a more realistic price and that I was not going to be scammed, that I would not be hiring him and to just leave. He said I owed him $49 which I would have paid if he at least had tried to realistically see what was wrong as I know his electronic tablet did not have the capability of a drain x-ray scanner. All he did was look at the water not going down in the sink before he quoted this ridiculous price. I told him no but hell no! I called a neighbor and he said that he had just had the same thing happen to him and that the normally higher priced Root Rooter people had cleaned his line for $230. which is easier to digest. This technician claimed about me being aggressive and telling him that I no longer wanted his services and to leave the premises come from some one that apparently has no idea what real aggression is. But this is the snowflake world we are living in. I willing to guess that his perception was that a 70 year old person would be easy to take advantage of and he did not consider that he might be dealing with a trained fluid systems engineer with a sound and intact mind that was not ripe to be scammed. If your company was even serious about performing the simple task of running a snake through a easily accessed vent at a fair price and I witnessed the technician putting some effort in diagnosing the problem I would have paid your fee but the "kid" you sent was in my opinion worthless and did not command your $49. fee for his non-performance. I have already hired a more 'competitive' company to do the work you could have done without all the ridiculous bogus salesmanship. I can see an abusive scam when I see one. Beware of being overcharged. We had an evaporator coil under warranty that needed to be replaced. The technician was only here for a little over 2hrs. and we were charged by the job for the labor, not by the hour. The discounted rate after our member savings was $1,278.40 for labor. I have been asking Dial Duron for an e-mail explanation about my bill for over a week and no response. Over $600/hour an hour. Find out how you will be billed before you have them come out. I made the mistake of having Dial duron install an air conditioner. They forgot to do something and they cut a hole in the plenum after they installed it. This was told to me by Travis himself. The plenum develop three holes in it and it was leaking air and it was wet all the time. When I talk to Dial duron about this they wanted me to pay for their fuck up. $600. I called Mac 5 and they also told me that when Dial duron installed the air-conditioner they didn't seal the vents up to the top of the unit in the crawl space. The water drips thru the vents and mold and mildew has formed. I have spoke to an attorney and it's too late to sue them but he told me that as long as I'm telling the truth about them there is nothing they can do to me either. I tell everyone that I can about what Dial duron did and didn't do correctly. I go to meetings with many veterans and inform them the reasons why they shouldn't have Dial duron install an air conditioner in their home. I will continue to go to meetings every where and any where so I can spread the word about the fuck ups that work at Dial duron. I will continue telling everyone I can till Dial duron is out of business. read more

Jacob Warrix and Robert Ryder of Dial Duron came out on June 21, 2023, to service my AC. Jacob informed me that my AC was leaking and would be expensive to repair. He said it was not under warranty. Robert said he would send me estimates for AC. Robert did send me 4 estimates ranging from 11,000 to 21,000. I got a few more estimates. All 10 thousand plus. Mike from Paradise Air came 6/28/2023 for an estimate and asked if it's under warranty, I said Dial who installed it said no and told me I needed a new AC. Mike went out of his way and called Trane. Trane informed Mike my AC that Dial Duron installed is under warranty for parts till 2026. I believe Robert and Jacob saw a senior citizen and tried to take advantage of me. This AC was INSTALLED by Dial. I signed the proposal 4-21-2016. I am shocked and what would have happened if I accepted Dial's or the other proposals. I would be out 10,000 plus instead of what the labor and coolant will cost. I am not pleased. After Paradise left, I went through my folders and found the dial proposal. If not a crime bad business practice. I did e mail Robert "Why would you try to sell me a 10,000 plus AC and Jacob tell me my AC was not under warranty when it was?" He did call me back and said he did not try push a new AC and Jacob is on vacation. However, they both were there at the same time. Jacob said Robert was there to observe. Robert just happens to be their salesperson. Robert did call me back and left a voice mail saying he understands my frustration, he looked up my file and my AC is covered for parts for 10 years no labor. He insinuated that Jacob was only talking about the labor was expensive. Never did Jacob or Peter offer me the labor charge, however Peter offered me estimates. Today Paradise Air and Heat of Merritt Island for under $1,700.00 repaired my AC, lot less than having to find $10,500.00 plus. I was stressed for a week. read more

Had them comeout to snake my house and unclog my slow drains. 2 hrs and $256.00 later, he claims to have the obstruction cleared. Woke up to back flow with human waste in my bath tub and bathroom floor. But he cleared the obstruction right? Called the company to have them make it right only to be told he cleared it and there are no guarantees. Have been waiting since 0930 for the manager to call me. Called around 3pm on Saturday. Was told "Grant" would be calling between 3:30 and 6pm. Nothing from "Grant" the tech. Called a little after 6. Was told he would be callng within the hour, He had just finished his last job and I was next on the list. Nope. No call from "Grant" the technician. After multiple phone calls and call center supposedly sending messages and such to Managers that did not Respond either, "Grant" never called or showed. They wasted my entire Saturday....then wanted to set up an appointment for Sunday. You didn't make your Saturday appointment, I wasted 7 hours waiting for your company to respond. Prevented me from calling another company because i had an appt between 3:30-6:00. No one called and Mo one showed. Management did not respond ever. Their call center is 24/7 but not their technicians. HORRIBLE! I had to give a star to write the review but ZERO STARS is what I would give them. I would not use or buy anything from them because they cannot seemingly back any of their business. No one which incudes management is Responsive. Use this company at your own risk. I paid $1200 to have a tub installed and shower hooked up. The plumbing work on the shower was fine but the tub installation was terrible. If you look at the pictures it's pretty clear that the tub they provided was damaged and appears to have been used. Also for some reason they didn't use stainless screws to secure the tub. Needed a simple cartridge filter change in guest bathroom shower. The part is less than $40. They charged $512 and it took 15 minutes. The two service guys were nice and polite. But this company price gouges. Stay clear unless you like paying a plumber an effective rate of $2,048 per hour for a simple job. Tech arrived first and started his preventative maintenance work. Then an unmasked Salesman who was there to give a price for a water heater barged into house. Tried to get new AC too. I asked the salesman to leave but he hung out in his truck until the tech was done. When tech left, no AC although it was working perfectly before his preventative maintenance call. Company could not locate my records although I have been a customer for ten years. The tech left the outside breaker box open with the breaker open as well. I closed it up and it started up. Way too expensive. I had a main line break and water running down the street. It was after 5 pm on a Saturday. I felt I had no choice. I appreciate Dial having emergency service and coming out promptly. The plumber was very competent and I have no problem with his service--well almost no problem. He was able to turn the water off at the valve and gave me the cost before he started digging. I was surprised it was so high $1450--but didn't know what would be entailed. In my prior house, I had a main water line fail in a very old house. Over 10 years ago, that was $800. They had to replace the whole line under the back house. This time, the house is only 10 years old and it turned out to be a pipe connection only--someone had used flexible pipe and the digging was isolated to my plantbed beside the garage. My almost no problem is because even though it was not as big a deal as I had worried it would be--he had old glue that wasn't holding and couldn't water vac the water out so that it could dry. He had to leave me without water for the night and return the next day. When I think that I basically paid $700/hr, hardly anything for materials and was still without water for my morning shower--I feel robbed and will not be using Dial again. read more

We have a gas water heater problem. All they did was charge me $80 and check nothing but said they would send me a bid to repair. Not at all happy with this company. Other companies would have said they would take $80 off the final bid, but not these people. They didn't even get any tools out to diagnose. Will never use them again. read more

(Short version - A $50 broken thermostat misdiagnosed as an overpriced $875 circuit board) We reached out to Duron Smith on Memorial Day (Monday) and were pleased to find out that they would make a service call on a holiday without any additional holiday fee. We were notified that there would be the standard $99 service call fee that would be applied to the cost of repairs once a repair plan was agreed upon. The technician called to let us know that he was 15 min-1 hr away. Their technician showed up about an hour later than expected. After his inspection the tech notified us that our circuit board was fried, he was not going to be able to bypass the issue, they would have to order the part and unfortunately, he was going to have to leave us without cool air but someone would be in touch when they knew more about the part. We paid the $99 service fee. The next afternoon (Tuesday) I received a call letting us know that they were able to locate the part and it was going to cost $875 to replace the circuit board BUT the service fee would be applied to that resulting in a remaining balance of about $780. This seemed extremely high for circuit board replacement. I asked the representative what the parts and labor breakdowns were and she stated that they don't charge that way and that they charge a set price for this type of repair. I notified her that we were not going to proceed. After getting off the phone with her, I contacted another company based on a recommendation. I told them of our situation. The new company told us that if the problem was correctly diagnosed as the circuit board, then it would be $300 total for the repair (service fee, parts, and labor), taking only about an hour to replace and that if they did not stock the part they could bypass the issue and get us cooling. They sent a tech out the same day. The tech for the new company came out, tested our circuit board, and confirmed that NOTHING was wrong with the circuit board. He tested a few more wires and came to the conclusion that the thermostat wasn't supplying power to the condensing unit and we just needed to replace the thermostat. A Home Depot trip and $50 later our AC unit was back up and running perfectly. read more

Dial Duron came to unclog the drainage line for our air conditioner. When tech showed up he told me the overflow sensor needed to be replaced. This seemed strange. I believe that this sensor was functioning properly and caused the unit to shut down when line clogged in order to prevent overflow in the attic. Technician changed the part and then told me that it still didn't work. He then realized that the electrical breaker for the HVAC was tripped and the unit had no power. He turned on the breaker and the new part worked. He stated that regardless of his diagnosis of the original part when the unit had no power, the part still needed to be changed out. I asked for him to leave the "broken" part when he left. He did not. He said the line was cleared and left. Approximately six weeks later the line was completely blocked again. I contacted Jamie and she said she would send someone out to clear the line at no cost. A different tech came by to clear the line. After his attempt to clear the line, he told me that there was a charge for the service. I explained that Jamie had stated that there was no charge, but he was insistent that there would be a charge. After significant back and forth, I finally asked the tech to call Jamie and she confirmed that there was no charge, but I was flustered at that point. Twelve hours later the HVAC shut down because the line was still clogged and my husband could not get water to flow through the line. I contacted Jamie and explained my problem. I had paid almost 750.00 for a part I possibly didn't even need and my line was still clogged. She told me the manager would call me. I have left three messages for the manager with no return call. I have spoken with a Dial Duron sales person at their COSTCO kiosk and he texted the manager asking him to call me. I have even asked to set up an appointment for an in person meeting but have had no response. In the mean time, I had to turn to another HVAC company to clear the line. I feel extremely let down by Dial Duron for such a simple issue. We went with a larger company believing they would stand by their service. We were prepared to buy our next large HVAC units from them. Now I just feel ignored and am out 750.00 for what should have been a straightforward/simple service of clearing a drain line. :( read more

I have now used Dial for both natural gas issues and regular plumbing. I found out that my master shower pan was leaking into the garage below. I was given the name of another plumber to use for this by a friend. The plumber came out and gave me an estimate that almost stopped my heart. Then, I remembered Dial, the company that had taken care of the natural gas issue. So, out comes Chris, who takes a look, and tells me Dial can do the work, no problem. And, his price was more than fair. And, what was even more interesting, he was interested in what I thought. Imagine, a plumber who discusses an issue. Everything is done and I am extremely happy with the results. Dial is the only plumbing company I am going to invite into my home. read more

Dial plumbing is very responsive and our tech was very nice, however they came to our house due to a hater heater issue knowing they needed to have a remote to work on the issue. They showed up without the remote, which put us back a day. They came back to diagnos the issue after we got the remote and had us order a chip, which did not end up even being the issue. $180 and a week later, we ended up buying a new water heater through them on top of the money we'd already paid to have them fix our old unit. After they left and we had a chance to use our showers, one has half the pressure it did before and Dial will not come back out to fix it without a service charge. We are not happy customers. For $2025, it seems we should have good water pressure and temperate. read more

Including new coils in one unit, new capacitor in one unit, new compressor on both units. Now there is a leak in the copper piping they installed! I had a new thermostat replaced yesterday. The part was $46 and it took about 5 minutes to put it in. I was charged $358! Dial Plumbing for Gas leak repair We had a small gas leak and gas company recommended Dial Plumbing for the repair. I didn't even know that Dial Plumbing and Air did that. I called and two gentlemen came out the next day. John and Bobby were the perfect gentlemen and knew exactly what needed to be done. I really appreciate the expertise and knowledge that these men had. I highly recommend Dial Plumbing for Plumbing, Air and they need to put on their logo, GAS too! I am giving a ZERO, when I called to get an estimate on a new A/C unit, I was told they could come out on a Saturday, time 8 am to 10am. I rearranged my schedule/ missed out on family activities. NO Show! No phone call/ text/ email. The lady who talked to me said they could come out on a Saturday . The Silver lining is ; I now know who I'm gett my new a/c unit from And it's not Dial Duron. Had a problem with my tankless water heater. Called them in the morning and had a repairman out here after lunch. Checked the whole system and resolved our problem. First time I used them, and it will not be the last. The repairman was Byran, nice guy, was a great guy and explained everything to me so it could understood. read more

Of course it was during Christmas weekend. I call 12/26 and was told a technician would was available and would be by THAT day after calling first. Didn't happen. So it called 12/27.Lots of apologies and someone would be by 12/29. No surprise.... no call no show. So at 4pm I called AGAIN. That person was sorry also and told me they would get the manager involved. HA! Today is Friday 12/30. I called about noon. Spoke to the RUDEST person who ARGUED with me. Now I have an appointment for January 4. Not holding my breath. Can you tell I'm FRUSTRATED? PLEASE HEED MY ADVICE AND DO NOT GIVE DIAL DURAN YOUR BUSINESS. We purchased a system in 2019 from Duron Smith. We also purchased a 12 year 'bumper to bumper warranty'. We faithfully had our annual maintenance checkups. The last one performed April 2022. Unbeknownst to us - the technician in April released some freon and did not replace it. Last week we noticed the thermostat temp was well above the temp we had it set to. I called for service last week. It was immediately clear that this company is no longer the company we did business with in 2019. They could not send anyone until today (June 20). The technician was great (Felix). The problem is when we were asked to pay $49 for the 'service call'. Again, we have a warranty. The very rude person that called me demanding the $49 said they added that fee January 1, 2022. No notice to customers? No - they 'didn't have the time for that in this world right now'?! Whatever that means. Then she said that nowhere in our warranty agreement did it say they couldn't charge me a trip charge. So they can change the rules from when I signed the contract? I reminded her that our issue was caused by the service in April 2022 - her response - I should have called within 30 days. (even though the problem didn't show itself until last week). Duron Smith was a responsive courteous company - Dial Duron doesn't care about customer service. Again, the technician was great. This review is not a reflection of his service. read more

I has a natural gas leak and called Dial as they were one of the few companies in my area that can fix this type of thing. They quoted me $105 an hour. So the tech come out and looks at it a few minutes and tells me he can't fix it and I have to reschedule. I had to wait two weeks and finally they come fix it. They ended up charging me $180 an hour for the repair, after telling me on the phone 105. They also added $105 for the first guy to tell me he couldn't fix it. My bill ended up being double what I was expecting, about a months pay for me. I called the office to complain because they told me $105 and they had the whole "too bad so sad" attitude. If you use this company, get the price in writing first. read more
