Our Ruud air conditioner failed during a hot Sacramento weekend in August 2018. On Monday morning, at the recommendation of a friend, we first called a larger, well-advertised HVAC firm in town and was told that it would take three days before we could be "squeezed in" for a visit and that we would be charged $120 just to diagnose the problem. After looking through Yelp, I found a Leo, who is highly rated and only about five minutes from our home. Gave him a call and he was at our home within three hours. Leo and his associate were pleasant and very professional. Within an hour he had figured out the issues and provided a reasonable estimate to repair. The unit was fixed under an hour after that. We've enjoyed happy cool air conditioning since and are very happy. We will probably need to replace our HVAC unit within the next few years and we will give this company the first opportunity for that business. We are happy to recommend Leo! Due to a water heater failure, which is installed next to the HVAC unit in the garage, we found out that there's water in the duct. Leo saved the day yet again! Today is the second time Leo has done a great job! I first called him last year when our AC broke mid summer, Leo came by 30 minutes later and repaired the unit and did some maintenance. Leo and his team saved our family from freezing last week. Our furnace died and he came out the next morning to diagnose the problem and quickly recommend a solution. The issue turned out to be pretty catastrophic and we needed a new unit. I called today for an appointment as soon as possible because our AC died on us yesterday and Leo was able to come same day. We were so happy because it's the 90's outside and we do not want to be hot another day cause last night was horrible. Anyway, he was very professional from the moment he knocked on our door. I actually had a different company come out earlier and didn't care for them because the person didn't look confident in what he was doing or saying. I've dealt with Leo in the past and had no issues; however, recently, and unfortunately I have to say his behavior was unprofessional and just plain rude. In the past, he came out to repair my air conditioner. He started on it and then sent one of his assistant's following to complete the job. I called him recently to look at my heater because it wasn't working Properly. When he came out, he brought his son with him who appeared to want to be anywhere else but where he was at. Anyway, he looked at my heater and informed me I needed to buy a new one because the one I had no longer worked. He also turned off the valve to the heater to be on the safe side until I repaired it. Well actually, he told his son to do it which his son looked a bit surprised and then I heard Leo telling his son what to do and where to apply a sticker etc. His son had to go up in my attic to do this. So I was a bit concerned hoping that his son did it correctly but I would of had more peace of mind if he would of done it and I should of mentioned it to him. So, then I asked him to check my air conditioner to ensure it worked and he said no to call him back towards summer time to do so? So it's getting hot and I call him the other day to look at my a/c and he tells me to go ahead and run it that it should be fine without seeing it. Well guess what, it didn't work and it started up prior to his visit. I call him to tell him my a/c doesn't turn on and he tells me to call someone else because he's sick with the flu. Leo was recommended to me by a handy man about 5 years ago when the heater in my previous home stopped working in the middle of a cold spell. He does charge a reasonable service call fee for any initial on-sight visit, but he also gets you in very quickly. For that particular incident, he identified the bad part on a very old furnace and told me in all honesty that he would have a hard time finding the part and suggested that he can show me how to replace it myself if I can find it online - which I did, and only got charged the initial service call fee. Since that time, he has come out 3 more times and always in a very short time. A few days ago I started running my AC in my newer home for the first time this season as we approach 100 degrees in Sacramento. An excessive amount of water was pouring out of a drain that I did not notice last year. I reached out to Leo at 5PM and he started responding and scheduling me in. When I sent him a picture and description via txt he realized the water was coming from an emergency drain and that it could cause damage if the main drain is not working quickly. He had someone at my door step in about an hour! Even on the first really hot day of the season! They verified the problem and ran some compressed air in the primary drain to unclog it. The problem was fixed by 7PM and they charged a reasonable amount for the work. They also didn't mind showing me the drain and gave me the knowledge to look out for and fix the issue myself in the future. I will continue to use Dial Leo and recommend him.
