I would strongly advise NOT using this company. They replaced our tankless water heater 3 years ago and called to say they need to descale it, for free. Upon arriving the young man went to every sink, shower, toilet and washer. He came up with a suggested list of items that need to be replace to the tune of $1,100! I said no thank you. I asked him how the water heater is working. He said its "All good!" I declined the work and he said "Yeah, I wouldn't do it either." The next day we didn't have hot water. They came out, and we had hot water. Later in the day, no hot water. They wanted to charge me to come out, $169. Ah, no. Send another guy out and he said there is a thing broke in our shower handle that was causing the hot water to not work. Riiiight! Then after he fixed that he would then fix something to correct the error code and after that he would recommend a water softener....all to the tune of $4000+ A reminder...our hot water worked fine until they called and scheduled a free service. Not to mention when you try to call you get stuck in an AI system. And their calls come in as "robo" call. I paid $0 and my water heater is working now. read more

Wow - please do yourself a favor and believe the other one star reviews below. This place is a total scam. I wish we checked Yelp before hiring them. They came one day to fix our AC, and that technician charged us over $800 for a simple part. At least the AC worked well after that. Then he advised we get our whole system "maintained" so it worked for the rest of the summer, and my husband agreed. A very shady tech came out the following week and as he initially tested the system, the temp in the house dropped to like 50 degrees. Then he claimed that the whole system was about to break down if we continued to use it, and said repairs would be at least $4k-$6k. He even started quoting us new systems. We told him we'd think about it (uh, no way!), but after he left, the AC mysteriously stopped working. Their phone center is also very annoying and manned by terrible chat bots, so it's hard to get a refund. Beware and stay far!! read more

I thought you couldn't do worse than Next Gen Air - these guys are close - we had these come out to inspect our AC and find out why we seemed to have excessive dust. I won't get into speculation about why all of a sudden our evaporator was suddenly exposed - but they did point out that our upstairs register needed to be insulated. True. They quoted me $2,350 to seal the evaporator and insulation repair. I had another company do both for $450.00!!!! I tried to call them to discuss their quote - never got a call back. I originally found them through online research and had them install a new HVAC system last year. There were a few curveballs during the install as they learned the nuances of my house in real time, but they handled everything well. Their GM, Arun, really stands out. He genuinely cares about the client experience in a way that feels rare these days. They show up on time, honor their quotes, no squeezing you after the fact, and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. Have used this company years for biannual maintenance on my HVAC units. Good and nice folks but they always warned me that my systems were in imminent failure and borderline to be red-tagged. I was reluctant to replace as the system worked fine and balked at the cost. Come April for my seasonal tune-up and WOULD''T YOU KNOW, during testing, the AC condenser blew out; have to replace the entire HVAC for $25K! If I scheduled at their earliest availability I'd save $600. Like your average impulsive idiot, I agreed. It seems to follow the typical game-plan I read in the reviews; They use the maintenance program to leaverage new installations. That's their ultimate focus and goal. Lesson learned: Don't impulsively jump at having them replace, take a deep breath and get other quotes. I'm now finding them overpriced. Second lesson: Have them use an off-site restroom before coming to your home. Within the first 20 minutest they left ours a stinky mess, my wife had to resort to hazmat equipment to clean. read more

I feel completely taken advantage of. We hired this company for routine plumbing and AC service after buying an older home. What started as "standard maintenance" quickly turned into tens of thousands of dollars in upsells. We were told we needed all new sink pipes, water heater work, and then -- mid-job -- that something had "broken" and our entire water softener had to be removed. Replacing it? Another $15k. They even charged me to remove the old unit. If something breaks during your service, that shouldn't become my financial responsibility. The plumbing work wasn't even done properly -- one of the sink pipes wasn't screwed on correctly and now constantly leaks. I have to keep a bowl under it. The AC situation was worse. I paid a large amount to "extend the life" of the unit for a couple of years. Five months later (barely used), it stopped working again. I was told the part doesn't exist anymore and was quoted $18k for a basic new unit and up to $40k for a nicer one. They also tried to charge $800 for a thermostat I showed them online for $150. As a newer homeowner, I trusted their guidance and regret it. Please get second opinions before agreeing to major work here. read more

Dial One is an absolute scam with inexperienced technicians. They will up-charge you anywhere they can on expensive work you don't need, offer their unnecessary maintenance program, and give you vouchers as credit for extremely expensive work they will perform later (which they'll likely just add on to the cost of the work anyway). I called Veteran Air to try and get a tech out to diagnose my HVAC leaking water and I was instead told that Dial One purchased Veteran Air and that they were reputable. They sent a tech out and the tech charged over $300 to flush a drain line (which I found out didn't need to be flushed). The same tech broke the drain line off the evaporator coil and charged me over $200 to repair it. This tech also recommended that I replace the entire system if the repair doesn't hold (which he mentioned would cost $20k+). I turned the system on and after a while it started leaking again.. (I guess I need a new system now, right?) I called Dial One to come back out and properly diagnose my system. Dial One sent another tech (the "lead tech") who said that the evaporator coil drain pan was cracked and needed to replaced and it was going to be nearly impossible to replace so they will need to replace the entire coil, but the coil would be hard to get because it uses r410a refrigerant (which is going away later this year), so they will likely need to replace the coil and condenser. This work would cost thousands of dollars. The "lead tech" also broke a light in my attic (which they didn't reimburse me for) and gave me the wrong picture of someone else's evaporator coil to use to find parts. I was told I will be receiving a call from the supervisor, Peter, with next steps to fix my issue and order parts. I received no calls. The techs at Dial One have very little experience and claim to be experts. Stay away from this company if you can. read more

Dial one SonShine came to our home today. 02/26/2026 because we got a free heater and air-conditioning inspection. Air conditioner-year-old. Heater installed in 2002 was just serviced a year ago by the original company who installed it. After the gentleman was up in the attic and was messing around in the attic, he stated he smelled gas the minute he got up there, not taking the consideration the heater was on prior to him getting here and turning it off. He added that we had a gas leak due to some valve. Hmm any added some other things in regards to that surge protector so on and so forth proceeded to walk outside to look at the air-conditioning unit outside everything looked A-OK with that except for the heater. When I heard that there was a gas leak with my heater when the gas company was just out here less than a year ago checking every person in this housing tracks homes and gas leaks in this housing track. I proceeded to call Southern California gas company because they checked my house out a year ago they should've seen it. The gentleman decided to give my husband a quote $1300.00 to install a new valve because it was leaking from the valve supposedly, and the price of a new surge protector was $600.00 , not counting tax Adding tax and everything to it came to a little over $2400. I sent my husband a text message to his cell phone and said nope gas companies on their way here and they're gonna check it. Dial one SonShine didn't even leave our house five minutes when the gas company drove up. Gas guy came in and got up in the attic and looked at every single thing that that gentleman decided to tell us which was going to cost outrageous amount of money that I'm sorry this dial one company takes advantage of Senior Citizens. Southern California gas said there's absolutely no leak in your furnace. He checked every single thing over and the valves which was told to us by dial one SONSHINE. I am so upset that a company like Dial One SonShine take advantage of Senior Citizens and continues to screw them over. I'll be notifying the state of California in regards to this company and letting them know that this is what was quoted to us, but this is what the information Southern California Gas gave us. Just wanna make sure not another senior citizen is taken advantage of as I've read the terrible reviews of this company. Only God knows what makes an individual whoever the owner of this company is that would decide to screw over Senior Citizens. Please help other Senior Citizens by reporting this company to the state of California. Had a major plumbing back up caused by tree roots that has been recurring. I was able to schedule an appointment right away that worked into my schedule and was given a courtesy call when the truck was on the way. When he arrived Grant was able to diagnose and then clear the immediate problem. Because this had been a recurring problem Grant recommended that rather than continually calling someone out to hydro jet roots every time there's a problem (which isn't cheap and always happens in the most inopportune times), a sleeve could be shot through the pipe to prevent the roots from getting in again. We agreed to have the sleeve installed which was to take place on Friday with the possibility of completion on Monday morning. The crew were friendly and efficient and wrapped everything up for me by Friday ahead of schedule (in one day!) The newly poured concrete looks really good. You'd never know concrete was busted through in my driveway. And my outside area was left looking even nicer with everything sprayed down and cleaned up. I'm relieved and reassured that I won't be facing this ongoing plumbing issue thanks to Dial One Sonshine. Phew! Fast. Efficient. Respectful. Friendly. And Neat. read more

Despite all the negative reviews here, I thought Dial One Sonshine did a good job. We are previous customers of Veteran Air, which is either now owned or subcontracts out work to Dial One Sonshine (confusing relationship). We received a flyer in the mail reminding us of our pre-paid annual inspections. I called to schedule an appointment and it was a very straightforward process with Natalie (sp?). We scheduled a water heater flush and have a furnace inspection coming up in a month due to tech unavailability. There were a few hiccups during scheduling (pushback time, same day) due to an emergency water heating call, and mis-scheduling to another date we had tentatively discussed on the call, but it was still easy to schedule nonetheless. Day-of, I received a call and text reminder of our appointment. They use a service app that shows their tech location in near-real-time. Juan Castillo showed up on time, within the arrival window, and introduced himself with a friendly smile. He explained the process he would take to perform an annual maintenance on our tankless water heater and to my surprise also included an in-home water audit. The water audit included some basic water testing (pH, chlorine, hardness), stroking all shut off valves, testing water outlets/drains, and inspecting connections/hoses. I was quite surprised this was included in their service, though frankly they are trying to justify upselling water filtration and conditioning systems. However, Juan was never pushy and very polite( and aptly explained some of the common issues other less-experienced DIY homeowners may not know. After the in-home water audit, Juan explained some ideas for water filtration/conditioning services and also pulled his service manager into a call to discuss potential options. I appreciated the discussion we had but ultimately responded with a "I'll think about it" response to their pressured sales tactic. Personally, I really don't like being upsold for services I don't ask for, but completely understand Dial One Sonshine is trying to earn and justify business. After the audit/call, Juan checked out our tankless water heater and performed the scheduled flush/descaling. He cleaned up well and also performed post-flush checks to ensure the water heater did not throw any codes. In addition to our invoice, Juan readily provided estimates for various filtration/conditioning scope discussed with his service manager( and a 20-page plumbing inspection report from his water audit. I thought the latter was pretty neat, having never received one from a prior contractor. read more

Nathan conducted himself with professionalism during the service visit, and the water heater flush appeared successful at the time. However, later that evening, I discovered that the hot water was no longer functioning properly at the kitchen faucet. I promptly contacted the company to report the issue, which I believe was the result of sediment dislodged during the flushing process obstructing the kitchen sprayer faucet. The owner returned my call and advised me to attempt to disassemble the sprayer to clear the blockage, but I was uncertain how to do so safely. When I requested a follow-up appointment, the owner declined, citing the age of my water heater as the reason for not returning. I expressed that it would be reasonable for the company to address the problem and restore the faucet to its original working condition prior to their service. Despite this, the owner persisted in offering excuses and stated they would only resolve the issue if I agreed to replace the water heater entirely. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this company, as they appear unwilling to take accountability for complications resulting from their own work. I have been a loyal customer to Dial One Sonshine & Scott Harrison at 3655 W. McFadden Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92704, (714)-826-5113, for over five years. I am a senior woman., homeowner, and a widow for over three years. I was told that I had to replace my furnace for $10,700. In April, when my service was done on their water heater, I advised them that their $6, 903 premium water filtration system was leaking under the tanks. The tanks include 10 year maintenance free filtration systems.. Because I purchased the system on April 11, 2023, I was shocked when I was told it was a water algae built up that will cost $1,500, for the part because they will have to travel to get the part wait for the part and then return to my home to correct it. When I said that there was no way I was going to pay $1500., he said, let me speak to my boss. After 10 minutes returned and now it was only gonna cost 1000 because I was such a good customer. They also wanted i$1000 for the master bathroom faucet that has not worked since they put in new fixtures under the three sinks and the washer and dryer. I told them why should I pay for something that they didn't do right?? I have left several messages for the owner to return my call to no avail. I am so upset with all of these problems. Beware of this company. My mom saw a flyer from them for a $49 furnace inspection and maintenance, so she called because the unit is older. Someone came to check it out and said the unit had two big gas leaks so he could not perform the maintenance. He put a giant red danger tag on the unit and disconnected it. He said it'd cost nearly $4000 to fix or around $10,000 for a new one, and a sales team would be there in a few hours, and oh would we like to join their monthly maintenance plan for a discount. We decided to get a second opinion. The other company said the leaks were tiny, literally tightened up some parts to cap the leaks in minutes, and said the furnace unit was in a great condition and it'd be an absolute waste to replace it now. This company offered to clean my water heater at no cost because it was a new service they provided for their existing clients. The plumber came in on a Friday afternoon and immediately started testing my water quality and all the plumbing throughout the house, but not the water softener in the garage. Said water quality was good and would send me an email with the recommended service needed. After the plumber left around 4:30-5 , when I started to fix dinner I had no cold water in my kitchen. As I went through the house there was no cold water in a number of areas and the toilets didn't flush. The faucets that did work were emitting orange gung. I called them and they came out on Saturday and charged me $89.00 for a service call. I was advised my water softener had exploded and that was the was the cause. Because my water softener was working prior to the Friday inspection I felt they were responsible for for the damage. After several phone calls while the plumber was here , they did admit that they they "may" have aggravated the water softener because of all the testing, but that they were not responsible. After talking with the president of the company on Monday he stated that my water softener was old, which it was, and they were not responsible, but he would work with me on the repairs and pricing. In the meantime I got a quote from another plumber I had used and he gave me a quote for repairs and replacement. When I called Dial One Sonshine to get a quote from him, he was rude and short with me and would not give me a quote. He told me to use my "plumber" and then they would come back and fix the work. My plumber fixed the issue with the pipes and replaced all of the necessary parts and installed a new water softener. NONE of the recommended service was necessary per my plumber. BEWARE of this company they just want to up-sale you and charge thousands of dollars for unnecessary work. read more

I called Dial One Sonshine in 2023 for HVAC tune up which has 3 A/C units then the technician provided misinformation and got me signed up for 3 years for HVAC tune up and Water heater flush and I paid the full amount close to $500 in 2023. He said that by paying ahead of time, they will take care of all 3 units for 3 years and I kept asking "are you going to take care of all 3 units and the technician said "YES". I have only used 1 water heater Flush in 2024 and 3 A/C tune up in 2024 and now they called me as a reminder for water heater flush and I tried to schedule A/C tune up as well for June 2025. They said that they are not honoring any of their contract and they were trying to sign me up for new yearly service again. I told them that their Technician named Andy in 2023 misrepresented the information and Ken the owner said that he no longer works for company. this company sent me a flyer to dream my water heater and that was only a trap to send me a bill over $10,000 over work Anthony technician falsely diagnose leakage in my water heater from the tank and also during the process he strongly tap on the pressure relief valve and caused it to leak. I called the company but they don't wanna come to fix it unless I pay the hefty bill I stayed without hot water for two days and lots water leaked in the garage floor. I called my insurance company and thank God the technician came and change that valve and now my water heater functioning properly I called the owner of the the owner of the company Ken he is very unreasonable man I asked him to reimburse me for the $85 spent to have my water heater fixed, but he took me in rounds and circles and arguments.
