Kirk was FANTASTIC! Our unit is 20 years old, we have never really had regular maintenance on it. He showed up super early (they asked if that was okay, and YES thank you). Before he arrived they sent a text with his name and photo. I absolutely love this! That extra safety is so important. Kirk looked at our unit and asked some questions. He explained all they do with the "family plan" so we signed up. I am one of those that needs to be reminded of scheduled upkeep so this is perfect. He gave us the estimate before he started and I asked for a very rough estimate of a new unit (having no idea) so we decided to go with repair and hope for the best. The repair wasn't cheap but considering all the work that needed to be done as well as it being an older unit, I feel it was a very fair price. I think we did have the best with Kirk. He was able to repair our unit and give it some much needed TLC for our AC unit and furnace. He even installed our pre-purchased thermostat! Kirk was polite and considerate. He took time to answer all of our questions and ensured us that we could reach out with any questions, I believe him. Service people can often be rushed, there is a lot of work out there, but not Kirk. He didn't waste time either, I felt like he was in and out in no time at all. By the time he left we understood all that was done and what we need to do to get some additional service from our current unit. I could not be happier with the call I made this morning. I picked the right people to call!

Someone was scheduled to come out two days later. However, at the end of the call I was informed that Veteran Air was no longer in business and had been acquired by Dial One. I thought it was a bit odd that they waited to long to tell me considering I told them I was referred by a prior customer. Anyway, two guys showed up on the early end of the window and did their thing. I was told I would have a quote by end of day and they would follow up with me to go over the quote and answer questions. Five days later, I haven't heard a word. Weird way to conduct business. If they didn't want the job, they could have told me when they were on site.

He confirmed what I already knew, it's time to replace the unit, but he got it working so it will hopefully get us through the next few months. Jonathan came out and confirmed that that was indeed true. Everything seemed to be going well. Jonathan was very friendly and polite. When it came time for the estimate, he told me it was going to be just under $3,000. That seemed like quite a lot to me for just changing out a blower motor and a capacitor. He also told me that my Rheem furnace couldn't take just any old blower motor and he had to order one special. He said that his company doesn't deal with Rheem because their parts are hard to get. I reluctantly agreed to the repair, which he said would probably take place the next day. Later, he called and said the part wasn't going to arrive for a whole week. This was during one of the hottest weeks of the year in Southern California and I certainly didn't want to be without air conditioning, which runs through my furnace and needs the blower motor. I asked him what my other options were. He told me the only other option I had was to get a whole new system. He explained that he could install the system in only 2 days time or I could wait a whole week and have him repair the blower motor. He also mentioned a 10 year warranty with 1 or 2 years of service from his company. I asked him about the brand and quality of the Furnace that he intended on selling me, which was going to be almost $8,000. He told me it was better than my current system brand and I asked to get it in writing so I could do some research. After not receiving anything in writing I called his company and requested the same thing from them. Shortly after the conversation with his company I received an email specifying the make and model of the new furnace. I researched online and discovered a few interesting things. Number one, Jonathan had lied to me about Rheem parts. I found out from my online research that Reem takes Universal parts and I would not have had to wait until the next week to receive a blower motor that would fit. I also discovered that blower motors and capacitors cost nowhere near $3,000 to install. And finally, the brand of the new furnace that was recommended by Jonathan was nowhere near the quality of the Rheem furnace that I already owned. I canceled the job immediately with the company and again with Jonathan when he called me to find out what was going on. I am still waiting for my refund on the deposit! My contractor friend and I went to an HVAC store and purchased a universal blower motor and capacitor for $180... and installed it ourselves in a couple hours. The system is working perfectly. I don't recommend this business at all. I'm completely confused on why they have such a good rating on Yelp, which is why I picked them to begin with. This was a clear case of trying to take advantage of an old lady in a wealthy neighborhood. Shame on them!! Update: I received a full refund of my deposit and the service fee was completely waived. I got a nice apology from the owner and a manager.

I dropped my truck off on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM. Around 2:30 PM, I received a call that the four tires I requested to have replaced was ready for pick up. After paying $1,061.57 for the tires and labor, I drove off the lot only for my truck to begin violently shaking, forcing me to pull over immediately. I contacted my husband, who came to assist, but the truck was undrivable. I returned to Stress Free Auto Care and explained the situation. At that point, my husband was already waiting for a tow truck. Instead of addressing the issue, we were told they were closing and would not inspect the vehicle until Monday. I could hear the mechanic complaining that he was tired and didn't want to wait around when the manager went to speak to him. I specifically asked if anyone actually drove my truck to test it and was told no they did not road test it. Obviously. Due to the poor customer service and urgency of the situation, we had the truck towed to Toyota of Orange. After inspection, we were informed that the lug nuts had been grossly over-tightened, three were broken and one was missing entirely. This was not a minor mistake; it caused significant damage to the wheel components and created a serious safety hazard. Proper torque is a basic standard that any competent shop should follow, yet it was clearly ignored. No one from Stress Free Auto Care contacted us at any point the following week. After Toyota kept the truck for a week and a half, we were left with a repair bill of $3,332.03. My husband sent a certified letter to Stress Free Auto Care, including documentation of the damages and requesting reimbursement. The manager eventually responded, offering to reimburse only the cost of the tires without acknowledging the additional damages or expenses incurred. As a result, we have filed a lawsuit to recover our losses. I strongly caution anyone to use Stress Free and to choose a business that values safety, accountability, and professional standards.

On Sat., June 17, 2017, County Wide replaced my out of service air conditioner and installed new, forced air heating in my home. Originally, I was only interested in air conditioning. The technician, James, stated he could upgrade my A/C and furnace for less than a previous contractor had quoted me for A/C only. I was skeptical at first but, James set down with me and explained in great detail how he would use only "American Standard" equipment and that he could complete the job in one day. I had previously checked County Wide through the Calif. State Contractors Board and through the BBB. County Wide was highly rated and their were no pending actions. I agreed to have the work done. "James" showed up at my home on the 17th. at 0900, exactly as promised. I honestly don't think I have ever seen one man work so diligently and so fast. James took time out several times to take me aside and explain exactly what he was doing at a particular point, why he was completing a procedure in a particular manner and any state codes that were involved. I might note that although James worked fast he did not cut any corners. As the day wore on it was obvious that James might not finish in one day. James stated he could come back the next day(Fathers Day) if needed or if it was "ok" with us he would stay and finish the job regardless of the time. We were anxious to get the A/C working, as it was already getting hot and we agreed to let James finish the job, which he did at approximately 930 P.M. After James departed, there was no evidence that he had even been at my home. I watched him clean up after every step he completed. I might add, there were no extra charges for the late completion or for a couple of rebuilds that were needed during the furnace installation. It's been (4) days since the installation and all is well, (lots of cool air). County Wide was about $1000.00 under the next estimate and that estimate did not include a furnace. I cannot say enough as to the skill and professionalism displayed by County Wide. What an outstanding group of professionals. I inherited my parents house that needs a lot of work especially with the old plumbing and used the company my parents had used prior and now I got to see why. I called them at 8:30am in desperate need of a technician to come out to fix my broken shower and first was pleasantly pleased to actually speak with Rick, the owner who assured me his team who be out that same day between 10:30 - 1:30. So before I had time to get ready for their visit Rick was calling me back saying the tech was on his way and arrived right after 10:30 which pleased me to no end as I hate waiting all day for a company to arrive. Eli is a technician expert. He was very knowledgeable and kept me informed of the issues of what was needed which I was extremely grateful for as it made me feel very understanding of the situation and how much hard work was needed to fix it. When he was finished with my shower I asked him if he could possibly fix another issue in my other bathroom that day or if I had to make another appointment for another day and I pleasantly pleased and he checked with Rick he could stay to get the other much needed job done and again the same outstanding job was completed. Also Eli left each bathroom cleaner than when he started! Also he wore his mask the whole time which made my family feel Covid safe as we haven't had anyone in our house since the pandemic started. I'm so so happy with the finished work and am excited to see that not only do they do plumbing but multiple other services which I'll be contacting them in the future guaranteed. Countywide was great. They replaced the Furnace, air conditioning, all the ductwork, cleaned all the existing vents and replaced them with new vents, cleaned the attic where the new furnace was to go so that wouldn't create problems for the new unit, and did it all in a timely and professional manner. Brendon, the technician, kept us thoroughly informed as to what was happening each day. He redesigned the duct system so it would perform efficiently and cut in a new intake vent upstairs. Drop cloths were used on the stairs and upstairs landing and were removed each day. There was no damage to carpet or walls when he was done. Rick Edwards, the owner also kept in communication with us so we knew what was happening at all times. (Brendon even restarted the pilot light on the water heater when it went out when it had nothing to do with his job and he hadn't caused it.) When the job was done everything was cleaned up and functioning great. He takes great pride in doing his job well. I would describe them as professional, highly competent, and timely. And the price was better than any other I found. I will used Countywide again in a second for anything plumbing or AC/Heating related. read more

County Wide recharged my A/C unit in June 2017, excellent service , arrived on time clean and friendly. Over Labor day 2017 weekend my A/C was blowing hot air , during the hottest weekend ever. I called Country Wide first , they were busy and could not come out till after the holiday, but I was desperate to find someone, it was over 100 degrees outside and 92 inside. I made a big mistake calling Matthew Air Conditioning , from the phone book, oh they came out same day , spent a hour and half charged me $125. and did not fix it, instead they claimed I needed a new compressor , for a 5 year old A/C, once I told them it was still under factory warranty they left fairly fast and told me not to tell anyone what they said was wrong. I called County Wide back set the appointment Nick arrived with a smile, I was so happy to see him. Very professional he listened to what happened , he checked out the electrical connections , checked the compressor and everything is fine , no compressor is needed. He said with the extreme heat we had, the compressor will lockout as a safety. My A/C is working great again!! County Wide will be the only repair company I call next time. read more

I don't usually write reviews but when a company simply stands above the rest, I believe they deserve to be noticed. I spent all day Sunday creating a mess on a 1 1/4" water pressure regulator. By 7 pm, we had no water in the house and I was done! I called Countywide and the owner, Rick was patient enough to explain the problem and the possible resolution on a Sunday night! He sent one of his guys the next morning, Nick, who was already briefed and began putting the puzzle together. Nick really knew his stuff! By mid-morning, he restored water to the house and got rid of all my headaches. Simple as that! These guys are fair and professional. I had an emergency situation last week where the pipe had been leaking apparently for weeks. Didn't notice i had a leaky pipe til i saw the mold build up around my wall and water drips. I thought they were from the sprinklers overnight. Anyhow, called them the next morning and they came out w/ a quickness. The service guy was chill and pretty cool. That's always cool to feel comfortable w/ the person working on your home. He replaced the pipe w/ no problem and the cost was definitely reasonable for a job like this. I have used these guys for FAU replacements several times over the last ten years. Very honest and excellent performance. My son's FAU gave out during the recent very cold weather in this month. (My grandkids were running around the house in pajamas and parkas!) Brandon at County Wide replaced the entire FAU and also took care of some ducting problems. Great price and excellent service. They showed up to fix it the very next day, courteous and prompt. Turns out there was no problem, I was in error. They were good enough not to charge me for this visit. Unfortunately the company appears in the last couple of years to be engaging in price-gouging. Both my 2 recent visits cost me SO much I was shocked. I reached out to Orange Coast Plumbing, and they quickly scheduled service with one of their most qualified technicians. Henry arrived about 30 minutes later, and his calm, professional demeanor immediately put my wife and me at ease. From the moment Henry walked in, he explained the situation in clear, understandable terms. He conducted a thorough assessment in the basement, identified health and safety concerns from sewage exposure, and laid out a transparent plan of action. He walked us through practical options, stressing why a proactive approach would provide durable protection: immediate containment and sanitation, plus a long-term solution like a backflow preventer/backwater valve to prevent future backups. He also recommended a sewer line inspection to check for blockages or damage (such as root intrusion) and discussed possible repairs or replacements if needed, along with improvements to basement drainage and sump pump resilience. Henry clearly explained the risks of delaying action--ongoing contamination, mold growth, and higher costs down the line. Henry answered every question with patience and honesty. He diagnosed the issue, evaluated the exposed piping, and was able to identify the exact location of the leak. Shortly afterward, he informed me that he did not have the proper materials with him but assured me that if I was comfortable with a $2,000 repair, he would return the next day and fix the problem. The technician returned the following day and began the work. Not long after, I received a call stating that the pipe underground was "outdated" and that the only solution was to run an entirely new main water line from the street to the house at an estimated cost of $20,000. Needless to say, I was shocked. Just one day earlier, I had been told with confidence that the leak could be repaired for $2,000. I informed the technician that I would need time to consider my options. At that point, he stated that he needed payment for the work already performed, so my wife wrote him a check for $1,000. When I returned home later that day, I found that my concrete had been jackhammered, my lawn had been torn up, my drip irrigation line had been cut, and a sprinkler line had been damaged. In other words, I paid $1,000 to have my property left in worse condition than when Orange Coast Plumbing arrived. Based on my experience, this felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to upsell a customer from a $2,000 repair to a $20,000 replacement project. I ultimately hired a third-party plumber who evaluated the issue and successfully resolved it. In addition, I obtained three separate quotes for replacing the same main water line, and they ranged from $7,500 to $9,900. That is a far cry from the $20,000 price quoted by Orange Coast Plumbing. Before posting this review, I made multiple attempts to contact management to discuss and resolve the situation directly. Unfortunately, my concerns were not addressed. I would have preferred to settle this matter privately, but since that effort went nowhere, I feel obligated to share my experience so other homeowners can make informed decisions. I cannot recommend Orange Coast Plumbing based on my experience.

After the technician inspected it, his name is Sherveen, he told me that the pump was not working and was leaking. What was extremely concerning to me is that the leak started after he began working on/inspecting the system, even though I had not had this issue before the appointment. He then quoted me $1,200 just to replace a valve, or approximately $5,800 to repair the entire pump system. In my opinion, that price was completely unreasonable, especially when I could consider replacing the entire pump for that kind of money. I told him clearly that I did NOT want to proceed and that I wanted to get another estimate from another company. Instead of simply leaving the system in a safe condition and allowing me to get a second opinion, he repeatedly told me that if I didn't authorize the repair today, my house would get flooded because of the leak. I asked him if he could at least temporarily stop or contain the leak so I could contact another company. He refused and continued pressuring me to make a decision immediately. I said "I don't want to do the repair" over and over again, but they simply would not accept my answer. At one point, their office even called me and gave me a long, confusing explanation that went around in circles and did not actually address my concern. I felt like they were trying to scare and pressure me into approving a very expensive repair instead of allowing me to get a second opinion. A customer should never feel threatened, pressured, or scared into spending thousands of dollars on a repair. I came in expecting a $59 inspection. I left feeling like I was being pressured into an $5,800 repair under the threat that my house would supposedly flood if I didn't do it immediately. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and multiple estimates before agreeing to any expensive repair with this company. My experience was extremely frustrating and I would not use this company again.

I decided to get a second opinion and called Kevin at Kalka Plumbing. Kevin was incredibly honest and upfront from the start. He indicated that he should be able to clear the lines, but there may be sections that might have to be replaced but would do his best to at least clear the lines in the hardscaped areas. Kevin and his team were able to clear everything and did an excellent job cleaning up and leaving my back and front yard pristine (cleaner than when they started). Instead of pushing for the most expensive or invasive 'standard' fix, they saved me a significant amount of money and the results were exceptional. It is so rare to find a trade professional with this level of integrity and problem-solving skills. I had to personally call the company and let them know they never arrived, they apologized and scheduled me for the following week. He arrived with the part and installed it and the unit was still failing... he didn't know what was going on so they brought out the senior technician to take a look and the bigger issue lied within the furnace in my attic which was going to cost a few grand to fix. I agreed to get this fixed and was notified the part would arrive in about 3 months or so. So here I am in February excited to get some heating and air conditioning back in our home. I call the office and it turns out they never ordered the part...... I'm flabbergasted at this point because not only did they not order the part but they quoted me a few grand higher than the original estimate. I've wasted my time and money here. I've paid for a motherboard that didn't resolve anything and waited 3 months for nothing. If you're looking for HVAC service I would not recommend this company. The search continues for an honest contractor...

This time, inspecting the water heater (which is 11 years old), most things checked out as OK, but with their camera that goes into the tank, there was a lot of mineral deposits noted and those deposits are affecting the capacity and the ability to be effective. They said I should get a new water heater. It is still usable, but could go out anytime, and there could have problems in leaks. I was given the cost of replacing our heater. I had not planned on it, but in considering the likelihood of upcoming problems, decided to do so. They worked with me on the price, and it was installed the next day. The technicians who came out to check and do maintenance were James and Jesse. As I said, they were very thorough to check the heater, check the water flow throughout the house, and in their communications. I would have them come to my house again. The person who installed it was Allen and he installed it well, gave me all new needed attachments, and even after he was done, I asked him to do one more thing. Without hesitation he did that, which took another 20 minutes. He did everything right. I would have him come back if I needed something else installed. I am very pleased with Dial One Sunshine and with the people sent out to do their service calls and work. I recommend the company and those workers.

Saying that even if diagnostics and repair of leak, there is no guarantee and may end up costing more. Another option, replace the cooling system only and not the heater, would be only $14k!! Upon further inquisition, and explaining, the unit they installed just 5 yrs ago is expected to last longer than 5 yrs, they tried explaining it's like a car, sometimes they last a long time and sometimes, they don't. But hello, they have lemon laws! They went on the further explain that they were under new ownership with new employees and all and that they had to replace the unit and at our cost, they would not keep warranty, saying that it was not under some California state regulations anymore. Then said they will talk with new owners and get back to us. We sent him on his way and got a second opinion first thing next day. With over 30 yrs experience, quickly identified the leak, and the problem was fixed in 10 minutes at a very minimal cost!! Turned on, working, blowing cold air! A $1300 new toilet installation. His cheapest? We buy a new toilet and he installs it for $400. I did a little poking around and fixed the issue for a $11 flush tank ring. I posted a comment on JIT's webpage and no one bothered to reach out. I wonder how many people that plumber has scammed out of significant money. Add another - as he was leaving, he remarked that we didn't have a pressure regulator on our incoming water line - I told him we did have one but we had it removed - and then he started low-key arguing with me saying he didn't see any evidence one ever existed. I remember when Justin had a small business and he was awesome. Be wary now, their plumber appear to have a reason to upsell as much as they can. Not the kind of plumber I want to deal with.
