I wanted to buy ribbon various color sizes and types. When I walked towards the back of the store to look at the ribbon, I was flabbergasted!!! my eyes open so wide my mouth dropped open. I had just stepped into ribbon heaven. I came away with maybe 20 different ribbons, maybe 5 yards each and $48 bill. Well worth it. I wanted various types to make ribbon book markers. I will post a picture so you could see how beautiful they came out. I will be back with a pocket full of money to buy more ribbon.

That alone carries so much nostalgia for me. Walking into the new spot definitely feels different. It's hard not to compare it to what it used to be. The old location always felt full, lively, and kind of like a staple in the community. This new space feels quieter and honestly a bit empty, which made me a little sad. I even noticed signs asking customers to come in and support, which makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. Price wise, I've always known Broken Horn to have occasional good sales, but overall it's usually not the best deal in town. I recently went in specifically looking for a pooper scooper they used to carry years ago because it was amazing and I genuinely wanted to support local instead of ordering on Amazon. Unfortunately, they didn't have it. The only similar option was plastic and priced the same as what I could get online, so it just didn't make sense. I ended up ordering from Amazon, which I honestly hated doing because I would've preferred to give them the business. That said, I'm still giving them an honorary five out of five purely because of the memories and what this place meant growing up in Baldwin Park. They still offer dog vaccines, which is a huge plus for the community and something I appreciate. I really hope they find their footing again and make whatever adjustments are needed to bring back that special feeling the old location had. Broken Horn has history here, and I genuinely want to see it thrive again.

I even asked another shop if they could customize colors and they gave me an attitude. Went into Bernardo's shop here at Gomez Custom Upholstery and he talked over the colors and what he could do for cushioning and stitching. He made everything sound like not a problem. And it really wasn't for him as he really did do all the things I asked him to. Not only that, but he was adamant on having a same day turn around for me. Other places would be weeks. Truly a hard worker. Really good communication as he texted me on updates in a quick manner for material he has and he remembered everything needed to be done. Also worked with me on the time I could pick it up and was flexible. I had a minor issue with my chair when I took it back home and told Bernardo about it. He fixed it for me quickly and told me if I have any other issues I can let him know. Grade A quality service and customer service! This is definitely my go-to for upholstery needs from now on.

The shop or owner watches YouTube videos and do a bad job on your car. We, us or you can look up some YouTube videos and do a good job yourself.
