Ashley Wong has been selling her baked goods in the Fremont Art and Wine, caters, and host cookie decorating classes (as far as I know). Needless to say, we have been excited to finally see her open her own brick and mortar shop. I heard that she will be open Friday-Sundays starting today. There was cookies, French macarons, decorated sugar cookies, and cupcakes. I think the menu might change daily, not so sure yet. We got the smores cupcake and pb and snicks cookies. I was a bit appalled as most businesses, especially at grand openings, try to converse with all their customers and ask them about how they found the business/or even if they've tried the food before/any type of small talk to engage with the customers. We paid and walked out with no one giving us any thanks or even talking to us about our experience. The shortbread cookies were okay in my opinion. They were pretty flaky but they were thin and broke really easily. They were also very small cookies for $6. We liked them but have also had shortbread cookies similar to these but larger and thicker for the same price. Overall, I'm glad we were able to check out this new shop but our general experience wasn't great.
