You might miss this bakery if you blink as you drive past it. You can almost see the sign from Paseo Padre. The actual front door is on the other side, not visible from the street. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, despite it being shared by Ranch 99 and some other shops at this shopping center. I even came here on a Sunday and parking was no problem at all. Mary's Bakery is small bakery with friendly staff. You'll find sweet and savory buns, cakes, and of course, egg tarts. The onion bun is pretty good; this is my daughter's favorite because her grandfather always pick these up for her. They greet you when you enter the store. Being a small shop can be a good thing. Despite a smaller selection, you're also not overwhelmed and can easily figure out what to get. This bakery is a little pricier than some other places (such as 85C Bakery), but it's also nice to support the small local shops.

I come here for two things; Cocktail Buns & HK Style Pineapple Buns. Come in the morning if you want to walk into their bakery and be greeted with a warm smells of sweet chinese baked goods fresh out of the oven. Just went this morning and there was barely anything out for me to put on a tray, BUT, they had the racks that were just pulled out of the oven. I can't say how the other baked goods are since I haven't tried them, but the Cocktail Buns & HK Style Pineapple Buns are similar, if not better, than what I used to get from Oakland's Chinatown. The one person we interacted with was Cantonese speaking, but spoke decent english so there wasn't any issues communicating what I wanted.

BESIDES EGG TARTS Mary's Bakery is known for the egg tarts however I wanted to try other items. In January I came here on a Wednesday morning. One item I bought was the chocolate croissant even though the sign stated Chocolate Danish. Of all the croissants I've eaten the biggest hit or miss has been the chocolate croissant. Either there isn't enough chocolate in the croissant or the croissant is stale. What is unique about the chocolate croissant at Mary's Bakery is the croissant is very soft. Yet there is ample chocolate on the outside and inside the croissant. That was one item I was delightfully surprised at Mary's Bakery. About two months later I came back to Mary's Bakery. I was planning to get an egg tart. I also ordered two items: cream cheese tart and custard pineapple bun. I've never ate a pineapple bun before. I was concerned that the outside looked tough. When I took a bite of the bun it was soft. The custard inside was just ok. Cream cheese can be tarty, but the cream cheese in the tart tasted smooth. What can I say about the egg tart at Mary's Bakery? The egg custard doesn't taste too eggy. That's why people love the egg tarts at Mary's Bakery. If there is a nitpick I have with the egg tart is the crust is too crumbly as I prefer the crust of the egg tart crispy. Off course I'll go back to Mary's Bakery for egg tarts, but at least I know there are other items from this bakery I can enjoy.

love this mom & pop shop!!! its hard to find bakery shops like these now. The prices are pretty good here imo. I paid $2.75 for two buns i got before going to the airport. I cant believe they have the corn & ham bread here! One of my childhood favorites

Picked up a mango cake from Mary's Bakery for a friend's birthday but we were all underwhelmed. Presentation was A+ but the mango used wasn't great. I regret getting this cake out of season, since I assume that's why the mango wasn't good. Ordering was easy. I pre-ordered two days beforehand on their website and stopped by their store in Fremont to pick up. The store is located in a shopping plaza with a big parking lot. The cake was ready and I had already prepaid online ($49 for the mango cake), so I was in and out of the store in minutes. We ate the cake the next day. While we all loved the presentation and especially the mango "bow" on top, the mango slices weren't ripe or sweet. I also found the cake to be a bit dry. I'd be willing to give their mango cake another try in the summertime once mangoes are in season again.

The mango cake was ok, for some reason, I think I have higher standards for mango cakes. The mango was kind of rubbery. Also, I think it was a little overpriced for $49. The lady at the counter was a little rude. The place is ok, clean. Lots of parking.

This place has tasty egg tarts and makes amazing custom cakes (without fondant, which I truly appreciate)! Their cake is light, fluffy, and pretty to look at. The icing is to die for. As someone who can't eat overly sweet things at all, this would be my top spot to get a dessert that isn't overwhelming for my taste buds. You can order ahead if you want them to decorate a cake in a certain way, or just drop by the shop during business hours to choose from their premade selection. Either way, it's a lovely mom and pop shop that won't disappoint kids and adults alike.

The fresh mango cake here is amazing! The cake on the inside is light and fluffy and in between the layers are slices of mango. The cake is topped with a beautiful mango flower, definitely a cake that will impress a crowd! we were able to order the cake ahead of time online and prepay which made pick up very easy. They also have a variety of pastries and baked goods and cake all which are delicious! They have a self serve bakery style and it smells amazing inside!

All our mousse cakes use gelatin. If you want gelatin free cake. We have variety of regular cake you could choose from such as Fruit Cake, Taro Cake, Black Forrest Cake and Mango Cake etc.

Do you guys have just one mango cake (the fresh one)? How many people does the 8-inch feed? :-) it's my favorite cake

The pistachio flavor tastes rich and legit without being overly sweet or covering up the coffee. A lot of pistachio drinks at other spots taste like artificial syrup, but this one is smooth, balanced, and actually complements the espresso. I also love seeing that deep green color in the clear cups--it just looks so aesthetic and makes the drink feel even more authentic. Honestly, 9 out of 10 times, this is what I'm ordering. If it's your first time here, PLEASE get it. Thankfully my husband is always down to be adventurous and order something different so we can still guarantee at least one pistachio latte on the table lol. His go-to is the Qamaria Latte with oatmilk, sometimes with cold foam. It sounds simple--espresso, steamed milk, cardamom, and cinnamon--but it tastes like comfort in a cup. The cardamom and cinnamon make it feel warm, cozy, and layered without punching you in the face with sugar. Nothing tastes artificial here. Everything feels intentional and made with care. Also, whether you dine in or take it to-go, the drinks always look cute. I LOVE the dine-in presentation though. The iced drinks come in clear glass cups so you can see all the layers, and the hot drinks come in these thick ceramic mugs that make the experience feel extra cozy. And I'm such a sucker for their tray setup too--everything matches the aesthetic so well and makes coffee dates here feel extra special. And don't even get me started on the milk cakes because they are dangerously good. My fave is the Biscoff milk cake. It's super soft, creamy, rich, and has the perfect caramelized cookie flavor without being too sweet. It paired sooo well with the warm spices in the coffee. _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- Each barista I ever had was kind and super chill. I never felt rushed and they took their time answering questions. It sounds pretty simple but I feel like even with how busy it can get, they pace themselves accordingly behind the counter so that they are intentional and patient with their customers, and work in a consistent pace that gets drinks done in time and hands them off with care. Very contrast to a cafe where baristas are working so fast-paced that their interactions are short and it feels like that they just want to get the drink over with and passed off to the customer. It all goes back to Qamaria's baristas being intentional with the way that they work. Keep doin' your thing y'all. Love the flow. _______________________________________________________ --- A M B I A N C E -- It's funny because the first time my husband and I pulled up was after dinner on a Friday night. He was feenin' for coffee and was like, "What's even open this late?" Yoooo, finding out Qamaria Yemeni Coffee was open until 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays instantly made us happy because now we got a late-night spot whenever the cravings hit. Most nights they're open until midnight too, which is dangerous lol. And let me tell you... this place gets CRACKIN'. We came around 10:30 PM and the line was out the door, but I'm so glad we stayed because the drinks changed our life. Even on a random weekday when I met up with a homegirl, we looked up from yappin' for hours and suddenly the line was wrapped outside again. Trust--it's worth the wait. The inside is warm, modern, and culturally rich without feeling forced or overly trendy. The arches, lighting, patterned seating, earthy tones, and artwork make the whole space feel cozy and intentional. Even when it's packed, it still feels welcoming and communal--honestly just proof this is THE spot to be no matter the time of day. People are studying, catching up with friends and fam, working, or just vibing over coffee, and it somehow all works together perfectly. It's the type of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile instead of grabbing your drink and leaving.
