Always seen the long lines and thought what is the hype? Could it really be that good? Yes! The answer is yes! The baked goods are so tasty and moist. To top it off the variety of flavors for the fillings are amazing. And to go even higher the butter flavors are that good too!

Had their food so many times but have not until now because of the pineapple crust bbq pork tart and the pineapple pork bbq bun. Liked both but enjoyed the tart more. The bbq pork was sweet and went well with the slightly salty tart crust. Crust was light, thin and flaky. The Pineapple bbq pork bun was also good with the sweeter bread. The crispy crust added a nice texture. Good bread meat ratio. Like eating a less doughy pork bun. Also tried the mango butter with Tajin pineapple bun was ok. Good pineapple butter but not sure about the Tajin part. Kerrygold butter bun had a nice buttery creamy flavor. I usually don't finish a whole bun but I finished the pineapple bbq pork bun really quickly and wanted another of the bbq pork tart.

Glad this place is closer makes it easier to get. The place is quite small. No seating area. They didn't have the salted egg pineapple bun which was a bummer. But everything else that I got was good. Just wished it was warm. Ordered on a kiosk and service was quick. Will be back to try other flavors and get the bbq pork bun.

Came here after hearing about it from friends. Mainly a takeout bakery. We ordered a couple of different butters to try. Our favorite was guava and the salted egg butter. Love the softness of the bun and the thick slab of butter. We tried a variety of the mini tarts as well. We will probably skip them next time and just get the pineapple buns.

I went today on a Saturday and the plaza was so busy, it was so hard to find parking. I got the fish mooncake, the 6 pack pineapple buns (the best bang for your buck in my opinion), and the peach tart. For the peach tart, I thought it could've been bigger, it was pretty small and it was the same price as the 6 pack pineapple buns. Overall, this was a great bakery and there's always a line out the door. The price is worth it for the baked goods for the most part

Finally tried and found it a bit expensive and nothing crazy. Zero ambiance but at least service is fast. Got the croissant tart in original and pandan, the outer crust is just way too hard but pandan flavor was there. i like how th ube pineapple bun had real yam but the filling wasn't that tasty or distributed probably and it was pretty dry. the best thing i got was the matcha puffs, the cream was actually pretty good and the size makes the texture was very satisfying. $4 for a teeny tiny tart was not worth it, two puff was very worth it, and i wouldn't get the ube again but it was reasonably priced given there was real yam in it.

Still as good as I remembered! It's a no brainer that the salted egg butter is a must order. You can't go wrong with a slightly sweet crunchy soft bolo bao and the salty egg butter. This time I also ordered their pork floss salted egg tart but the crust is just too flaky and oily for me. Service is quick and friendly! Will always stop by when I'm in town.

Placed an online order for pick up and it was ready by the requested pick up time. You need to have your ID ready and it must match the order name. Surprisingly, the line was not long even for walk in orders on a Saturday afternoon. We got the mini deluxe box, pandan croissant egg tart, guava butter pineapple bun. You have to eat these fresh! We ate the guava butter and the bread was so soft and warm, with a crunchy exterior. Guava butter had a good flavor and paired well with the bun. Their buns were all pretty good. The pandan croissant egg tart lacked pandan flavor but I did like the croissant base. Will definitely be back!

I've never been a fan of pineapple buns- Pineapple King Bakery totally changed all of that!! This Bakery is kind of small in size and it's strictly meant to house transactional sales. Seating consists of a few tables and is more like a takeout joint. The Hong Kong style pastries are sweet, crunchy, yet so very soft and fluffy- all at the same time. The very first taste left me in awe and that has not changed one bit. These baked goods aren't overly sweet. The textures are well rounded and the flavors are unique compared to the Americanized standpoint. These pineapple buns are buttery deliciousness and depending on your choice of filling, it can check off all the marks of being sweet, savory, and leave you wanting more. Faves: *PINEAPPLE BUN [PLAIN] *BBQ PORK PINEAPPLE BUN *BBQ PORK BUN 5/5 stars. The quality has not declined even after all these years.

    Milk tea with pineapple bun

The hype is real! So good! They have so much variety of pineapple buns, pineapple custard buns, and tarts that it can be a lil overwhelming. I went with the ten blessings with gives you 5 tarts and 5 buns for about $32. Both the tarts and buns were so good. Make sure to try the milk tea as well! It was expensive as hell for basic milk tea ($7) but the flavor was so good after tasting it I didn't regret buying it at all. It def hits the spot with the pineapple buns. Overall, def give this spot a try! I will be back to try the pineapple custard buns.

My husband delighted with bringing me here because it was so good!! We got pineapple bun with butter (daughter fav), I also like it!! we also got the bbq pork pineapple bun, which I didn't even get to taste..again my daughter devoured it. According to her..it was bomb! What I did love is the salted egg custard pinapple bun, and the salted egg pineapple bun. Because we didn't get enough, lol..we also got egg tart! Everything was delicious It's an order by the window service. The ladies are so nice and patient with us as we tried to figure out the menu. We will go back here again

Always consistent pineapple buns. Ordered several including the mini filled ones, a selection of taro, red bean, black sesame, guava butter, matcha mocha, and original. Easy to pre order and pickup up was quick and efficient. When I got home I realized one was missing. I called to notify and they said they would promptly refund the missing bun. Always a hit!

    Smaller than the rest?
    Idy C.

I really like pineapple bun. It reminds me of Hong Kong. It gives me lots of memory of milk tea and buns in Hong Kong. I used to stop by when I m in town. There were several incidents that either my order was wrong or missing. This time I m shocked about the quality. One particular bun is smaller than the rest. It's not a big deal however I m also doubt the quality control. Isn't it they should weight the dough when making the bun? Ok...understand people makes mistakes. When you saw it and sold this to customer then it's not okay. And please slow down and check the orders to avoid mistakes.

I love the spam and egg! What is that sauce you put in there?

    Which items are gluten-free?

    None

Is Pineapple Bakery safe for people with peanut allergies?

Hi David, thank you for reaching out. Our kitchen does use tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame seeds. Some buns and baked goods contain these allergens. There is a possibility of cross-contamination during production. Hope this is helpful.

If not planning to eat these buns right away, should I put them in the refrigerator or would leaving on the counter in a cool place be sufficient?

Thank you for reaching out! The best way to enjoy fresh baked goodness is to eat them fresh right away. If you are planning to save for later, see heating instructions below. Any meat filling items should be kept refrigerated.…

I want to place an order for a event but can't get in contact and tried multiple times. What's the best way to get in contact? The event is on Saturday

Hi, unfortunately we do not cater for events at the moment at either store.

Are the buns made with milk or soy? For dairy and soy allergies

Yes unfortunately all of our baked goods are made with dairy ingredients.

Is there lard in any of the products? I'm asking for family members who are vegetarian (egg and butter okay), not vegan. Thanks!

Which ones are pineapple buns without filling inside?

Pineapple Bun or Mini Pineapple Bun are both without fillings.

I tried this place in sf back then and it just a regular Chinese bakery simple , I love the buns , but for real , the wait time for the whole process can take up to 1-3 hours is ridiculous, I can drive to sf n back even faster then wait?

You definitely can! I waited 2.5 hours so I can really drive to SF twice and still saved more time.

Will you guys sell similar mooncakes as the SF location. I love those mooncakes?

I ordered the Baked Porkchop Over Rice and Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. The wings were crispy but they tasted a little off and kinda old. This already sounds pretty bad but it gets worse. Let's talk about this Porkchop dish. I can say this with absolute confidence: this dish was pre-made and reheated. My first bite was abysmal. The pork tastes old and the tomato sauce tastes like plastic. I was wondering how I was gonna cut the porkchop with the plastic knife but the pork chop they gave me was so thin that it didn't matter. Once I cut it and checked the middle of the meat I can see it was dark brownish (not how a fresh porkchop should look). The portion was also pretty bad cuz it was served in a go-to tin. I only came here because there used to be another location next to De Anza College but everything here was way worse and I won't be coming back again.

The menu here is very typical of Hong Kong menus that I've found frequently in my home area of San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles, with noodles dishes, rice dishes, clay pot dishes, and some Western style dishes as well. The wait staff are nice, and they brought out the food pretty quickly. They provided us with a nicely spiral bound menu with photos of their dishes and also a two-sided lunch specials and drinks menu. Local Cafe in Cupertino is probably the closest replacement I've found. The menu has that same sprawling Hong Kong cafe feel, with everything from Spam and egg sandwiches and Spam with macaroni to chow fun, congee, baked rice dishes, noodles, curries and more traditional Cantonese dishes. It's the kind of menu where I keep finding something else I want to try. We order from here mostly through DoorDash, although I've eaten at the restaurant as well. Two of our favorites are the shrimp and egg over chow fun and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The shrimp and egg chow fun in particular has become one of our regular orders. Plenty of parking and they offer most of what a cha chaan teng would serve in HK. 1) The service is phenomenal, which is strange because in HK the best restaurants usually have the worst service lol. They are super attentive and the servers will give recommendations especially when they feel you've ordered too much of one type of item. 2) We ordered in the photos the beef chow fun, pork chop rice, green beans, and the salted fish chicken clay pot. One thing my wife and I noticed is they do stir fried dishes really well. You really taste the wok hei. 3) My wife did comment the prices are kinda high which is understandable considering the area, but at least the portion size is decent. 4) This place does get decent lines at peak dining hours as it's pretty popular now. Sometimes you may need to wait 15-20 min but the restaurant does seat ~50-60 people at a time so it's decently big. 5) My HK born wife loved the decor with the HK train stations and HK double decker buses. 6) it also has wifi!!!! Overall, my wife and I are satisfied with this cafe and have become regulars at this point.

Chicken was moist and flavorful, very tender and the rice was good too. Generous helping of ginger garlic sauce. Tried the club sandwich for the first time. Crusts are cut off and bread is thin. Interesting take with tuna, ham, egg and tomato inside. Comes with fries which are always tasty Curry was a decent amount of heat. Pork chops were very juicy and tender. Baked oven dishes keep the plate warm for the whole meal. Love coming here and will be frequent returners.

There was no wait to get seated, and we appreciated how most of the seating was spread out. It was a bit warm inside so if you're sensitive to heat, I would dress lighter. Servers will not come by your table unless you flag them over so make it obvious if you're ready to order. We ordered the string beans and beef, the famous baked pork chop with a little mild cheese and sweet tomato sauce over white rice, the salt and pepper chicken wings, popcorn chicken and the crispy Hong Kong style noodles with stewed beef and tomato. If we could have had more space in our tummies, we would have go the Haianese Chicken because we saw it served on other tables around us and it looked delicious. ALL the food was comforting and good. The cool surprise was the drink that comes with the pork chop dish, there were several to pick from but I picked the cold honey lemon tea and found it wonderful and highly recommend this. My cousin and I were having a lengthy conversation lasting almost 3 hours, and maybe because it was a slower week night they never pushed us to pay the bill while we were chatting, so we really appreciated they valued our uninterrupted time together.

It captures that authentic cha kaan teng vibe without needing to drive across the Bay. The Chicken Chow Fun here hits the spot. The rice noodles have great texture--tender with just enough chew--and they get a proper sear in the wok for that subtle smokiness (wok hei). The chicken slices are well-marinated and smooth, and the bean sprouts provide a fresh crunch that balances out the dish nicely. It's generous, comforting, and not overly greasy compared to many other local takeout options. To wash it down, their Hong Kong Milk Tea delivers on authenticity. It is strong, smooth, and brewed with that distinct, bold black tea base balanced out by sweet evaporated milk. Ordering it iced keeps the flavor rich without watering down as you drink it. The only reason it knocks off one star is that service can be a bit slow during peak dinner hours, and the dining space gets tight quickly. But for quality, everyday comfort food and a classic Hong Kong tea fix in the neighborhood, Garden Cafe is consistently a great choice.

There are regular tables as well as booth seating throughout the Cafe. The food was solid HK Cafe Food. Out of the items I ordered, I liked the Black Bean Chow Fun the most. My second choice would be the baked pork chops which was a very hearty comforting dish. The French Toast was solid and the scrambled eggs with beef over rice was decent. Service was good, above standard for a HK Cafe, and prices are moderate. I would recommend visiting when craving HK style Cafe food.
