I would give diamond deli 6 stars if I could. Everything about this place is amazing - the food, the staff, and the vibes. Sure, they are not open for dinner and the lines are routinely out the door, but there is a reason for that! Their portions are huge and the quality is top notch across the board. Everything on the menu is amazing and the variety they offer should provide something for everyone. As someone who works outside of the city, I only get to go when I have a day off of work, but make excuses to go whenever I am able! read more

I ordered from here through door dash for the first time this week. I had never heard of the place before, but the combination of broccoli salad and a wrap sounded so good. Plus carrot cake never disappoints. That broccoli salad gave me liiiffffeeee no exaggeration necessary it's exactly how I would make broccoli salad at home. The wrap was so filling. And the carrots cake had such a great texture. After asking around at work, it turns out everyone I know absolutely loves this place as well as the people who run the business. It's been raining or snowing and cold in the CLE since last fall. Today, we bundled up and ventured out into the grey...to Diamond Deli in Akron. Home of the world's best Reuben. It's a hole in the wall, nothing fancy, but the corned beef is delicious. If I'm using calories on corned beef, I have no use for dry, crumbly, lean beef. Give me a greasy, yummy Sammie that I have to wrap up half and take home. They come in three different sizes, so if you want to really loaded up one and can eat the whole thing you've got that option here. Their potato salad taste better than my gram's. read more

I've only been here a handful of times but I can say that I haven't been let down at all. I frequent Primo's as it's closer to my workplace and can say I prefer the pastrami and corned beef here. It's not as dry. I have yet to try anything from New York but I think here is a good place. If it wasn't so busy and closer to where I worked, I'd probably come here more often. I hate busy places because I don't like dealing with parking, especially when it's downtown. A stand out deli in Akron for sure. read more

This is probably my favorite place to go during lunch at work. They have AMAZING deli sandwiches, soup and desserts. My favorite sandwich is the Josh I made the deans list (they give a lot of their sandwiches fun names like that). A lot of the girls that I work with get the Turkey Rubin. The sandwiches are a very good portion size so you won't leave hungry. I typically get a small cup of potato salad from there and you can tell it is a homemade type taste, not store bought. The carrot cake is one of the desserts they have and it tastes absolutely amazing! The pieces of those are large as well. There is normally a line out the door especially during the summer, but it is totally worth it!! read more

Came here while in town visiting friends. Wonderful New York style deli shop. Sandwiches, wraps, salads. Pepsi products - no Coke. They do have unsweet fresh brewed tea. I was leaving Rock Mill and wanted to grab dinner on the run but I know nothing about Akron. Hopped on Yelp and saw a deli nearby with high reviews and that was pretty much all the convincing I needed. With all the construction I thought I got myself lost but finally found it and walked into a somewhat dive-y sandwich shop with punk music playing- I instantly knew I found a gem. Slightly precarious and pretty odd was the fact that the bathroom door didn't have a lock, but I made it in and out incident free. The "I need to go back to healthy eating side of me" convinced me not to get the carrot cake (sad) but couldn't stop me from ordering the "Chelsea is this organic?" sandwich. There are so many creative and delicious sounding options here that I was truly overwhelmed. I think the staff might have gotten concerned for my mental sanity because I took so long to decide what to order. Anyway the guys working there were super friendly. They forgot to add my jalapenos but that's okay because I think they would have ruined the deliciousness that was my sandwich. Me, being the impatient food lover that I am, ripped open the foil on my walk back to my car and dug in (much to my chagrin and like I hadn't just eaten two hours prior). I literally had to stop on the street it was so delicious. I think I love you Diamond Deli. 10/10 would go back again and next time I'm in Akron I'm getting that damn carrot cake. Really good sandwich, though not a fan of the names and having to try and figure out what is in each sandwich off handwritten boards. Nightmare for us dyslexics! Or maybe just me, but doesn't change the fact the food was good - if they had homemade chips it'd be better. Came here for lunch and almost came back again for dinner. So good! Loved the family vibe, the owner was so friendly. The soda we wanted needed the syrup changed, he made sure to bring us it once it was changed out. All of the Akron memorabilia was great to see...way to support the local community. The sandwiches were just perfect. Stacked high...I don't know how they are making any money! I could only eat half. This is BY FAR my favorite little gem of a lunch spot in Akron! Family owned and oozing with personality. The menu is extensive, but if you get overwhelmed just tell them what you want in a sandwich and they will make it for you.
