LOVED our experience! We were vacationing with our 4 year old on Waikiki and wanted a sunset boat cruise. Luckily, we turned out to be the only 3/family on the intimate boat, got a steal of a deal per person, and had an amazing time! The Intake coordinator explained the details thoroughly (including no more than 6 people on the boat at a time) and the crew (Ronald and Dan I believe) we're truly amazing. There were couches (no hard plastic seating), snacks (it is BYOB too!), laid back music, and a humpback whale even graced our presence. It was about 1.15 hour boat ride in front of Waikiki beach area and was perfect. HIGHLY recommend over a huge tour. read more

So amazing. We had the best time with this private charter. Highly suggest the early morning turtle snorkeling. We were the only boat there and saw at least a dozen or more sea turtles, puffer fish, monk seal. The crew was so friendly and knowledgeable. They served us fresh pineapple and danish upon arrival and sandwiches after the swim. They even gave us suggestions on hikes to spend the rest of our day. Can't express how amazing this trip was. We had a fantastic time with Diamond Head Cruises! The Captain and David Lee went out of their way to ensure it was a memorable experience. Accommodations were made to fit into our schedule as we went on our last day on the island. Had a blast searching for the whales all around Honolulu harbor and the views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the boat are stunning. Thank you for making our last day perfect! Note to those who haven't been on a boat in the ocean before. If you are even slightly prone to getting motion sickness be sure to hydrate, hydrate and hydrate before you go. It's also good to take a Dramamine at least 8 hours before and have some ginger candies on hand. Don't let it stop you from enjoying this incredible experience, just take the time to prepare. Captain Mike and Bri were very hospitable. We really enjoyed the small boat approach to snorkeling. They gave us very personal attention and made us feel at home. Having only 6 people in the boat was perfect. We've done larger boats in other locations around the world which makes you get lost in the crowd. No such problem here. We did the "snorkel with sea turtles cruise" and it was great! They found a great spot with atleast 8 sea turtles and other fish. The boat captain and guide that got in the water with us were both really friendly. We saw a few spinner dolphins on the way to the reef but unfortunately none while we were in the water. We went on the first cruise of the day at 7am and that's what I would recommend due to there not being any other boats around us. We were the only ones in the water and I know it must get really crowded later in the day. They do have other cruises that I will definitely look into on our next trip to Oahu! read more

4 of us went whale dolphin and turtle watching. The whales were not breaching high but they were coming up for air and showing their magnificent tails. We cruised with a large school of dolphins and had the pleasure of viewing some turtles too! Our captain and guide were extremely knowledgeable friendly and hard-working to give us the best possible excursion! This boat was a much more intimate and personal experience then feeling like you are being herded like cattle and stacked into many of the catamarans or other tour options! This was an amazing experience! Very intimate and the guides were relaxed and amazing. They make you feel at home! We got to see tons of fish and 5-6 turtles and they swam to the top just feet away! They provided all the gear and were VERY kid friendly. They made my 4 year old nephew feel comfortable and made it possible for him to see the turtles and snorkel with everyone else. The water was clear so easy visibility...I highly recommend going out on their last trip of the day as the sun is going down. You can't beat the view on your way back! Definitely take some sea sickness medicine before going because some of the people got motion sickness from the waves! read more

Whale watching is a MUST this time of year and this was the perfect, most intimate boating experience, not to mention friendliest staff. We spent alittle more money since it was a 3 hr trip, figuring we would have more chance to see whales, which we did!! We used a different company last year that was just a 90 min tour and didn't see any whales :(. It happens. However, even if we hadn't, the boating at sunset was so relaxing and memorable. (We did the 3:30pm trip). For those who get sea sick, I completely understand, so I took 2 Bonine and was glad I did, because I began getting a little sick towards the end of our 3 hrs with the waves rocking us back and forth. They provide food and drinks. There's a bathroom on board. It was wonderful! read more

We booked a 1:30 whale watching cruise on one day's notice. This is NOT one of those large charters that hustles dozens of folks out to open water. Captain Mike and his first mate provided a small group of us (8 in total) with a captivating afternoon of whale watching. We were served fresh, sweet pineapple and some sandwiches while we observed a pod of 5 whales on a gorgeous afternoon. Bring your sunscreen, binoculars and camera and enjoy a few hours on the water. Captain Sam and Savannah were absolutely AMAZING! Me and My husband are locals who were celebrating out 10 Year wedding anniversary and booked the sunset cruise. They really helped to make it a special celebration. No one else booked for the cruise and they still took us out. It was like a private charter!!! Really appreciated that they didn't cancel due unfilled reservations and still put in all the time and effort just for us! Due to the fact that it was just us we had the option to personalize our experience. We got to choose the music, position of boat for pics, and they even offered to stop for some nearby turtles. Savannah was amazing company and a wonderful impromptu photographer and helped us capture some wonderful memories that we'll be looking back at for years. They were very personable and gave us tons of great advise for nearby eats, firework shows, etc..they really made us feel like friends and not just clients. The light refreshments were perfect for the duration of the cruise and we will definitely be going back with our friends. Living on Oahu gives us the option to choose from any of the many cruise services offered but after this experience, it will ONLY be Diamond Head Cruises for us.
