Not good at all, 4 of us went in for pedicures made appointments and 1 person was waiting it was just a mess from start to finish. The pedicures jet was not cleaned prior, the tools came from in her box, no soak was added, she used a remover to push my cuticles but it was all just for show, the scrub scratched up everyone's leg, the end result my mom ended up with Fungus. I've been an on & off customer here for years. Have had a few unpleasant experiences but recently received a gift certificate and wanted to use it. The actual shape and paint of the pedicure was done well but the usual hot towels, massage, etc. that's included in the "spa pedicure" was not done. $50 instead of $35 since I got gel polish and a spray of cuticle oil immediately wiped off with a warm towels and sent off. I pulled $10 cash out for tip and gave it to her. It was all $2 bills since that's what I had and she scurried to the back and started checking to see if the money was fake. I went to pay at the front and was yelled at by a woman I believe is the owner about whether or not I tipped her and over the $5 extra I owed after the gift certificate. Terrible customer service and always only cares about the tip! I will never be back. I recommend fashion nails on Castro valley blvd. Friendlier staff, better prices and an overall better experience. read more

I have been going to Diamond Nails for about 15 years. The salon itself is spacious and very nice. And it's very clean. I was in the dental field for decades and was happy to see they use a sterilizer here to sterilize their clippers. etc. I have never had any problems after having a fill or a pedicure. Linda (the owner) is always very accommodating and Lisa and the other technicians are very nice. Went to diamond nails yesterday to get an acrylic set. Asked for a manicure and a pedicure. I spent $80 at this establishment and I swear to you when you see these pictures it looks like I should've paid $10. Jan rushed through the entire acrylic process. My nails look unfinished. When I brought this up to her attention, she claimed that they don't trim cuticles we just put oil on them. My nails look worse than they did when I came in. Called and left a message asking if they could redo them no one has called me back. I've been a customer at diamond nails for sometime now. What a hidden gem. My son's gf took us here. She wanted to take my daughter to get her nails down for her graduation. I decided to go here a couple of days later to get a manicure and pedicure. They were pretty busy. They were pretty professional and sweet on both visits. The environment is pretty inviting. They have tons of color to choose from. Parking is a bit small. I've been a customer with diamond nails for almost 15 years. I've always been faithful and gone there even when living out of town and getting home, I still go back. Yesterday I went and Wendy accidentally cut me really bad the first 5 minutes of my mani. So I washed my hands and the cut was super glued closed. Wendy felt horrible and kept apologizing. I expected to be compensated somehow, some sort of discount but to by surprise when Wendy rang me up she charged me full price. Not only that but then she looked to see if I gave a tip. I still gave them their tips but have been left with a very bad taste in my mouth. I've always taken care of them and they failed to take care of me. A loyal customer. I usually enjoy going here but This last time- no. I wanted a dip nail set. I also asked that the tech do my cuticles. She said she would. At some point she took her tool - the dremel like sanding tip and scored all my cuticles!! WTH. I've been going here for over 7 years and was lucky to have Bi do my nails the first time. She still does my nails and knows exactly how I like them. Bi has done almost every design I have asked for when I want designs and I love her work. Parking in the area is tough because of Trader Joe's, but this is no fault of theirs. I just have to plan a little better when my appointments are. I just went in this week for fills and see that they are updating the salon with new flooring, paint, and opening up the space a little. It looks fantastic. My only complaint is that sometimes it is very loud. Lots of cross conversation around the room, when sometimes you just want to close your eyes and relax. But I am also incredibly sensitive to sound, and understand most salons have lots of chatter and noise. I highly recommend spending the time to find the right person for what you want. I stopped going there several year's ago after they became demanding about how much I should tip them! They even tried to insist I leave a $5 tip for an eyebrow wax (that's 50%). They even switched manicurist half way through doing my nails so I'd feel obligated to tip them both! They went as far as telling me "we've seen what you drive, so you must have $$"! My respone: "I drive a 22 year's old car (even though it's in beautiful condition) because I can't afford (nor want) a new one! Nice salon since their remodel. Thought I'd give it second try since I was motivated by a text coupon sent by the salon for10% off. Service was average but I was really annoyed upon checkout that they would not calculate the 10% off accurately. This was basic math, and I got some bs reason why they wanted to cheat on giving the FULL discount. I had to argue my point and show them how conventional retail service discounts are done. They are a large nail salon, with many nicely spaced out stations and pedicure chairs. They underwent a beautiful remodel recently and they keep their salon very clean.
