Had dinner at Diamond Point last night. We got into Kohls Ranch Lodge kinda late and their restaurant was closed. Starving, we headed to DP. They were closing, but said they would take us. I had the Ribeye with mushrooms and it was great. My wife had a salad and she enjoyed her food as well. Our server was nice, but could have smiled a little more. Maybe she was upset we walked in as late as we did, which is understandable. I really liked the bar area and the fireplace, but the lounge was lacking. Maybe it was the lighting or lack of decor. I'm giving DP 5 stars because it's a gem. Not the greatest food or the best service, but good prices and a great asset to the area and should be supported. A change of plans brought us to Diamond Point Steakhouse to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We were glad that we had to change our original plan as we were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience at Diamond Point Steakhouse. We were quickly greeted by a friendly hostess upon entering. Within a minute "Sara" greeted us and took our drink order. Good selection of tap beer for hubby and good selection of tequila for me! After delivering drinks, Sara took our order. My husband's New York Steak was done to perfection, and although I had hoped for Prime Rib, found out only served on Saturdays. I decided to try something outside my comfort zone and ordered Alaskan Baked Cod (even though I really do NOT like fish of any type). Received 2 large fillets and it was delicious! So light, flaky and did not taste fishy!! Would order it again! Overall service by Sara was EXCELLENT. But we also noticed that all of the servers looked after each other's tables by refilling water glasses, and helping where ever they could. Tables were "socially distanced" apart by having every other table "reserved". Servers also wore face masks. We are so glad to have found such a high quality restaurant to which we can take friends and family when they visit, and also at which we can celebrate any of our own future special occasions. read more

My husband and I just returned home after eating at Diamond Point Shadows; the food and the service were wonderful. I had a filet mignon and my husband had a ribeye. Both meals were excellent. read more

Outstanding food. quick and friendly service. Great atmosphere and easy parking. It lacks nothing! We recommend it to anyone driving through or living in the area that has not stopped in. I would love to let you all know how the food was, but we never got to eat any. The place itself is nice. We were told by some of the towns people that the food was very good here. When we arrived on a Saturday night the hostess sat us down right away. Although she was unable to answer any of our questions. After waiting about 15 minutes and several waitresses passing our table several times, and obviously avoiding us, we got up and left. No one even asked us for our drink order. We are very patient people, but they were rude. They were slightly busy, but it was early and there were many tables available. They didn't even notice that we left. read more

the prime rib is as good as any i have had,and the blue point shrimp are so good that this is one of the best steakhouses in arizona!

I went here for dinner last night based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. The exterior of this place would have made me pass it up just because it looks a little like it's seen better days, but inside was a nice old school steakhouse and everything was amazing---the relish and cracker tray, the salad, steak, and crime brûlée. The service was amazing. The menu is very simple and I find that refreshing in a world of Cheesecake Factory tomes that require annual leave just to get through. I asked for a glass of red the bartender would recommend with my ribeye. I was able to choose from "house" or "top shelf" and chose the latter....i have no idea what it was but it was delicious and only about $6. This is a great place. read more

Apparently this place has had good food and has been a favorite of my parents for some time for special occasion type dinners. I know places have bad nights and that things don't always go right, but when you go to a place that is fairly pricey, you do hold them to at least a standard of good food and good service. Tonight, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed in what should have been a very special dinner. Staff, and I mean up to and including the owner are very rude and unresponsive. Wait time for all things was long, multiple orders were incorrect, food was far below par that it used to be. This place may have been around for some time, but from all the reviews that I just now read and all the people I speak to in the community, it is going down hill fast. At an average of $20 per dinner, when things go wrong and you attempt to advise staff and owner and are completely ignored until it was time to bring the check (they are somehow able to get that there right on time lol) it's disappointing to know that the owner himself after attempting to speak to lesser staff that were uninterested and rude, was just as hostile as the rest. The first thing he stated to me was "what do you want from me"?? Well, what we did want, was a nice dinner, nice people and to be able to have a happy family night. , When I tried to explain that I was just trying to let him know of how awful our experience was tonight, and how disappointing it was...that as an owner he may want to know for future reference on some things that are obviously continuous issues. He took no responsibility, blamed us for not saying anything, when I tried twice to do so but because no wait staff ever came around except to bring us the bill when everyone else had finished their meals. My mother tipped our waitress very well because that's the type of people my parents are, they don't like to be confrontational. If it were me, my tip would of been written on a napkin and said "We should of went to Fargo's, or the Buffalo even, either one has much nicer staff, doesn't take forever and their food quality is worth what they charge for it".....Thanks Diamond Point and all you wonderful people there for a truly sh*tty night!! And Mike, to truly answer your question of " what do you want from me?" my answer is simply nothing, nothing at all, shouldn't have even bothered to try and remedy any of this, we should of just sat there forever, waited for our wrong, crappy food, over tipped the waitress and left and just kept our mouths shut, but after speaking with the "boss", it has compelled me to just not let it go...... read more

I am absolutely amazed at how fantastic this little place is. Amazing wine list. Fantastic wine glasses. Small little pine wood interior. Hand cut meat done in house. When you pull up into the gravel parking lot you have no idea of the fabulousness that awaits you inside! I cannot begin to express how shocked and amazed I was at the magnificence of this place. We had a lovely dining experience! We were greeted with smiling faces and quickly seated in a comfy booth. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer and I must say, we were impressed! The sauce and the bread that came along with the appetizer were amazing! Angela was our server and she was very attentive and had a great personality. Our main dishes consisted of the prime rib, the lamp chops and the Blue Point shrimp. All of the dishes were cooked exceptionally well and the homemade sauce that accompanied the lamb chops was absolutely delicious. The prime rib was tender and juicy the side of raw horseradish topped it off. Jenny, the owner's wife, was a wonderful addition to the evening and made sure our experience was nothing short of excellent. Definitely a little gem of a restaurant in a small town. read more

Stopped in on New Years Eve. They were busy but we were seated immediately. I had filet any my wife had prime rib. Food and service were excellent. We try and stop in there when we are in Payson. read more
